The best strategy for Season’s Greedings level 1-7 is to lob a Black bird through the snow ceiling and onto the first hatted pig. The explosion should cause significant destruction, but a one-bird clear is actually not ideal. Launch the next Black bird flat, toward the back of the structure, and blow the last pig to kingdom-come. The score in the video is 75,270.
Note: The video below shows the Santa Hat glitch. This glitch has since been fixed and thus is no longer possible. The trigger was the Santa Hat atop the bottom-right pig. To see which levels have the glitch, we have tagged them.
I shot first black high right to the top right corner of the stone and just into the snow. When it blew up, it almost looked like a second explosion happened and decimated the whole structure. Final score with one shot is 109990. It blew up so hard I actually jerked in surprise when it happened. Played a few more times looking for some kind of hidden explosion because there is no way a black bird ever blows up that hard, but had no luck. Anyone else seen this?
Yes, I was able to do the same thing twice (out of dozens and dozens of attempts after accidentally discovering it) with a high score of 119,460. The key is to hit the top corner at the far right end of the concrete structure and every piece of concrete explodes at once.

Shoot nearly over and when the bird falls deep enough almost missing the stone, explosion is big one. At first time one bird was left, but second try hit it right. All birds gone at once (with most of the snow and stone blocks), 3 stars… and score 114840.
Makes me wonder if there are similar “hotspots” in other levels?!
RawData, I’m trying to find those same explosive triggers on levels one through six, as well. So far, nothing. But I have heard rumors there are some.
I’m afraid you’ve got a long road ahead. I just tried to pinpoint the exact location of the trigger. Hunderds or more shots later and I’ve only managed to make it a half dozen times all in all. Never beaten previously mentioned best result, but 3 shots within 1000 point from it.
It does not only need a perfect shot, but luck also.
Without knowing the exact hotspot, the chances are low for finding it.

Now, my neck, eyes and finger hurts. No more AB for me for few hours. I need a bit of sleep before next level unlocks in about 2.5 hours…

Just go high and try to come in as far right on the last, shorter stone section. I just did it a second time and went through the last section ceiling. It looked like the secondary explosion came from the center pig/platform without a hat. The landing spots for the two times I’ve done it were considerably apart. 114910 now.

112,190 for me the first time I hit the sweet spot on the right. When it happened it almost seemed like it was a legit explosion and the concussion knocked the stones perfectly to wipe everything out.
The second time I hit the sweet spot it was different and just about everything vaporized almost instantly: 116,830. :-)
How come when you look on the high score list for season ppl have like 1.5 million for 9 levels, this is 150,000 average i have 700k and have 3 stars on all levels i dont get how they can get such high scores.
Thats exactly what i thought! Hkw the hell does the first place got over 1 million more (2,5) that the second place.. And that place got 1.4 million..
And if there are over 1000 ppl that have more than 1 million point and assume they know the ‘sweet spots’, why isn’t there any post beside this one, that talks anout it?

I have been asking the same question. So now I know it isn’t just me. It happened overnight. I was one of the top 3,000 players and then I dropped down to 20,000. Something is wrong with gamecenter. It looks like it is somehow doubling the points and in the case of the top player tripling that persons points where previously that persons points were double.
I am kind of upset actually.

It’s such a shame that they can’t block them from the leaderboards / Game Center.
I think its more than that. They wouldn’t have discovered how to do so suddenly and I have looked on the web for publications on how to do that because I suspected that was happening and I couldn’t find any.
But perhaps a cydia cheat app just came out for angry birds seasons.
That would suck, If its true, I hope there Ipods/Iphones crash and become unusable because I mean like that.

Two days ago I suddenly had a too big high score in game center, and that score didn’t change anymore when I played the new available levels the following days. I did not cheat, no jailbreak. I didn’t even found the hidden explosions.
Very strange and annoying. It must be a bug, but It seems not documented.

I’ve got the same thing. Seems like 7.1.1 fixed it in some places and not in others. The popup after a level shows the elevated score, but the Game Center score is correct. Happened after Seasons Greedings 1-8 (before 7.1.1).
Glad to have somebody confirm that people are getting ridiculously high scores that they didn’t have before. I have not received any recent updates on my Angry Birds.
Perhaps this (score doubling) is happening only to people who already downloaded the Halloween version of the game and are receiving the freed Christmas update?

I found the spot by accident after playing for ten minutes and got a 93,000 point total. I don’t know how I did it and I figured it might have been a bug.
My bomb landed in the middle of the structure not in the corner as others are posting.
I did find the spot using that advice though however several pigs did not die and I did not get higher than my previous high score.
I also notice that right after it did that double explosion that the game reset differently with a new snow pack covering the way to the corner substituting for a missing small piece.
I can confirm that this WPD, Weapon of Pig Destruction, is also on the Android version of AB: Seasons (115,480 Pts)
It’s not entirely about placement of the bomb. It has to do with the santa hat that a few of the pigs wear. If they roll into the wall just right, it triggers a secondary explosion. I’ve had it happen with both the pig in the middle with the santa hat and the one on the far right.
If rolling santas trigger explosions that could provide basis to the claim that it can be done on other levels as well.
He’s the only pig to this point in the game with a small hat tilted to the right. Don’t know if that’s a factor or not?
Depends on whether the middle hatted guy is also unique because their are reports of him causing explosions also since sometimes people throw bombs in the middle of the structure and trigger the explosion that way.
yes, most def. it is the hatted pig… played a couple doz. times & saw a smaller explosion (the bomb-bird exploding) which wiped out a couple pigs and a second or two after (as the hatted pig on the far right began bouncing around) another BIG exposion which decimated everything left & racked up over 119,000 points! :D
I can confirm that it can be done on other levels as well, accidentally did it on 1-6. Had the far right pig roll, hat hit the block and it shot into the central spire. Was extremely shocked when it happened and wasn’t quite sure what had happened.
They released a bug fix today, which must correct this bug. I wish I watched this yesterday
I got the update too, though I haven’t confirmed myself whether this has changed or not. Has anyone been able to get the explosion post-update?
I can also confirm that it works on 7.1.1. Just got 119,140 on it. Took about 50 tries. I was just about to give up as impossible on the new update and then BLAM.
Yes I have post update. Just Monday I was in the top 20 in the game center. I probably have some o the highest legit score and now I’m ranked 15,000 something
well people if so players have found a way to unlock all levels on this we will get or rang back to where it was in only 14 days so keep playing away and we will be back up in 100’s and not 1000’s very soon
its a advent calendar game and like i said to my piggy sister when i was small “come the 25th we will still have had the same amount of chocolate but i eat it one day at i time”
we will play the game our way and will be able to spend one day at a time to make the score high as we can with out having to go back to improve
thanks to everyone that has posted here about the nuclear hat. I did it on the old version of seasons greedings and got about 111,000. Just did it again after upgrading to today’s update and got 117,790. Now if they would just fix the leaderboards. :)
i did it with one bomb bird 72490, what i could do with three for the gold star. similiar to video above, but i go all pigs +20,000 for my unused on the first bomb aft idk 100+ tries

It is the hat on the left corner. I’ve just been trying it out, and sometimes when it fails, the hat explodes anyway killing the pig underneath. And it explodes then everything else has stopped being destructed … Am on android. And just did explode it all in about 8 tries.
Does the hidden explosion still work after the Hogs and Kisses update. Have done it about 100 times and no cigar.

Yes, from what we can tell the Santa Hat Explosion was fixed or turned off with the last Seasons update. Disappointing.
Well this is a pain in the butt to those of us that have just now started to go after higher scores. Almost think there should be a 1-7 and 1-7a for those that can’t get the old score.
bah, I hate self replying. Or maybe change the average to exclude scores above 100k or whatever the new theoretical max is. This is going to make my avg score column so ugly with one I can’t beat.

I wish I could figure that out as well. In looking at all of the scores for the level, it is a pretty steady progression up to the top score, so there is no easy way to tell. I guess Bird Leader could take all of the scores submitted below the theoretical new maximum and average those, but that’s just a rough guess. There is a good chance that many with the old high scores would also be able to raise the new average.
Need help-don’t we all!!!! Lol – I get the bird to go in the correct place but seems to do a little bounce on the very end concrete “post” and doesnt do the magic explosion !!!!! Any suggestions ? Have tried about 40 times and am going insane !!!!!!
Just tried it for myself (version 1.4.0 on Xoom for Android) after seeing the walk through, and while I can aim the shot to stick on the post, the resulting explosion seems to be rather sickly and anemic.
Kind of pathetic, really. Not to mention disappointing. Oh, well.
what is the maximum score possible after the glitch got removed?
I have 77,920 has my high score (post-“Santa’s Hat”). I’m not saying this is the maximum, but it’s at least a ballpark.
You can add my 80,450 post-glitch score, just for those seeking a doable number to shoot for. It’s a tad below overall average so it should be a decent score if you remove the 100s thru 120s that were attained during those C4-charge-in-Santa-hat days. Aloha.
I just found out about the glitch.
I have 80,500 without the glitch. This score wi about 130 points off the average so I kept I trying to get beat it. I didn’t even notice that the high score was some 40,000 more than mine. So much time wasted…
i am in the exact same boat. maybe they can fix the average so people dont waste their time trying to get to the average.
