Currently I think this may be the most difficult level to get a feather on. It MAY have been altered in some way after the 1.6+ update making it extra hard to achieve. I say this because after this update is when we started getting a large number of requests for this previously never-requested level. A lot of debris flies of the screen, so do your best to keep everything contained and in a single pile. This one may take you a really long time (hours, even days) but it is possible. Good Luck.

I did this several times and can’t get above 98%. A couple times I literally destroyed everything (absolutely nothing left on the board) and only got 95%. A couple times I have also watched as the mighty eagle directly hit a couple stone blocks and failed to destroy them. There is something screwy about this level.
Sometimes it depends on the amount of birds you use. If you use too many or too few, you will not get 100%…
I have had the same issues with 2-12 as you. I can’t get 100% no matter what. Anybody have any suggestions? Maybe it’s just a glitch…
No glitch, I just did it!! Finally. Took over 100 attempts, but got there in the end. A case of patients and dedication I’m afraid. Good luck
There is something wrong with this level. I have spent prolly 15 hours on it. Destroyed everything and can’t get above 98%. I have every single feather except this one. Making me angry! You can’t say there’s not a problem when there is nothing else to destroy and you can’t top 98%.
I’m confused by this video — two blocks were left on the screen and yet it showed “Total Destruction” I’ve gotten this exact same result (those same two blocks) and got 98%. All the Mighty Eagle levels are screwy. Sometimes you literally destroy everything and get 98% and sometimes you have blocks left and it gives you the “Total Destruction.”
First, “Total Destruction” does not imply that everything is actually destroyed. On some levels, that would be impossible. There is some pre-determined, level-specific amount of destruction which is considered “Total”.
Also, sometimes blocks are thrown off-screen but not destroyed. It can indeed make feathers hard to obtain, but it is doable.
I have spent 3 hours STRAIGHT trying to get total destruction. I destroy EVERYTHING and I get 99%. What am I doing wrong? This is really pissing me off.
You must have had blocks thrown off-screen that did not break, as in the post above.
I would love to say that, but I have watched VERY closely to that. I watched that video multiple times, and I followed it VERY closely, and STILL I cannot get total destruction. I am glad to know that I am not alone. Even my fiance, who is good at everything, cannot get it to happen.
You’re not alone Amanda. I have seriously put 15-20 hours on this level. I realize it may be “possible”, but it shouldn’t take that amount of time. I have destroyed everything and only gotten 94%. And no there isn’t blocks off screen.
Im glad that I am not alone. I am not good at video games, and this is probably the only one I have EVER beat all by myself. Until now. Even my fiance, who is good at most video games, cant get it done! Im pretty sure that I will spend upwards of 20 hours to beat this one! So I guess that you arent alone either!
I know how you feel, everybody, I don’t know how I got this one the first time because getting this recorded the second time took me forever. I focused on this level for a week trying for total destruction. I think Rovio really might need to adjust the damage threshold on this one. The trouble is that debris keeps flying of the screen where you can’t see it.
Also, I’m starting to think the last update made this one more difficult. Again, I don’t remember being stuck on this one my first time through and we also didn’t have any requests for it until after the update. So I think something might’ve changed.
10 Hours later……..total destruction and I do not feel like I accomplished anything.
This level is terrible. I lost some of my passion for this game.
Amanda did you use the strategy in the video or something different?
I used the strategy. Over and over and over. And over some more. No joke. I just replayed the level and used the strategy. I tried other ways and they didnt work.
I found another way…. they key is to make a pile for the Eagle. Use the two blue birds to take out all the ice. Then use the first yellow bird to take out the wood between the two stacks of cement blocks. Use the next two yellow birds to push the left stack into the middle by hitting the cement blocks on top. Here’s the tricky part… Use the bomb at the bottom two cement blocks on the left (they should be slightly angled off the ground if you pushed the stack on the earlier yellow birds). They key to the bomb bird is to not let it hit the stack before you detonate it. Blow it up just a micro-second before it hits the bottom two cement blocks. If it hits the stack of cement blocks, it blows stuff off the screen. If you do it just right, it makes a very nice pile that the Eagle cleans up. Took me about 10 tries once I decided to go this route.
My method actually eliminates every piece of the level. I noticed the video leaves 2 blocks. I actually got rid of every single piece this way.

I’ve completed angry birds a few times this year, each with a clean install, and I don’t remember having issues getting total destruction on this one.
I’ve resorted to making my own game by counting the consecutive times I get 99% or better. So far, 7.
I think my frustration is turning into a predicable failure boredom.

i just did this twice in 15 minutes with a different method. The key is to take out as muCh of the glass and wood as possible before sending in the last bomb, or the shards will fly off the screen. Instead of lofting the yellow birds in, I send the first two from up high straight down the middle, careful not to take out both pigs (favor the right side). This will clean out any wood/glass you missed with the bluebirds. The third one you can send in hot toward the top of the left rock tower to help tip it to the right. This way, when you sent the last blackbird in low, it pushes everything into a nice neat pile to clean up with the eagle. If you see one oiece of glass or wood fly off the screen, you need to start over.
I was finally able to do this after quite a few tries. I had already tried it a couple hundred times using other methods, but this worked. I got total destruction with one single block left.
When I did this, the left column ended up falling to the right and ended up on its side, with both pigs crushed. I sent the eagle in on top of that column and got all but one block – but good enough for total destruction.
This was the most difficult TD yet in the game, by far. I have all feathers and 3-stars, saved this for last.
One other note: make sure that the other birds disappear before sending the eagle. One issue I saw a lot here is that if birds are left you are more likely to end up with pieces flying off the screen. The eagle cannot “crush” or go through other birds, so they typically go flying hard when it hits. This is useful on some levels to help clear blocks, particularly with the large white egg-laying birds. With the blue birds you usually end up with blocks flying but not broken.
It took me 4 days but I did get a feather. it’s takes time, patients and even a bit of luck I wanted to crawl into my phone and have an eagle sandwich but wheres the fun in that, but it is possible. So hang in there and remember replacing your phone could cost a good deal of money. keep gaming.
I don’t think it’s fair that this level use to be easier. It is really hard now. I don’t think the video is an accurate representation of what it takes to get total destruction now. I have gotten the whole level cleared (maybe some little piece flew off screen) and I still got 99%. If there were 2 blocks left I don’t think you could get total destruction now.
You can’t have any little pieces fly off the screen, that’s an automatic 99% even if you get everything else. I posted a method above on an alternate way of doing it. It destroys everything without any little pieces leaving the area.
I still haven’t been able to get this feather (the only one I don’t have). I’ve tried travis’s method, but maybe I’m not doing it right. Could you post a video of travis’s method?

This is driving me crazy. I tried Travis’s method and still can’t get it.
Believe it or not you can get that stupid feather but throwing your gaming device against the wall is NOT going to help. lol
It took me four days but I got heres my advice: perseverance is absolutely a must. Even though I destroyed every single object more than once probably more than half a dozen times and I was playing four to five hours a day. Don’t let the eagle screw with your mind! You have to keep trying because skill is NOT enough it’s skill, luck, and determination it CAN be done because I’m a rookie at this game and i finally got the feather. Good luck and keep gaming. :-)
For those trying to get the eagle feather on 4-2 don’t Worry about those pillars. By trial and error I discovered that if you destroy the 2 pigs on the middle of the bed first and you will have to do this until you see a separation on the bed there will be 2 of them you have to get just the right arc with the first blue bird for this method to work. If you don’t see that separation within a couple of seconds don’t waste any more time with the other birds you will have to start over. if you zoom out and enlarge the screen before starting you will see right where those little separation points are. you have to destroy the two pigs on the bed those separation points are the key to getting your feather. If you hit those two pigs at the same time with the first blue bird it will cause the bed to fall apart with the other blue bird and the yellow bird take out those blue blocks I think there ice anyway take out as many as you can on one side the eagle will do the rest. He took out both of my towers and the remainig pigs. Remember that patients is critical and so is determination. Keep gaming

Cheryl I sure wish I could help but I’m serious I think you need alot of luck and I know that it’s a real b-breaker but I think this level needs tweaking if it were me I would NOT want to piss people off to the point that they would try a whole different game and say to hell with angry birds but I’m still a bit of a rookie and getting better everyday please don’t give up move on to the next level and come back to it later just so as Amanda stated you don’t lose your passion for the game maybe they will have tweaked it a little by then good luck.
Can anyone give me a little help with 5-1 total destruction it looks like it shouldn’t be that difficult but I just can’t seem to get that feather thanks 
Ok guys I finally got that feather as soon as I figured out I was trying to clear one side instead of a little on both. I got it on the fourth try. see I told you I was still a bit of a rookie

I cannot get this level to be finished! I keep getting the 4 or 5 lbricks stacked up on the right side still standing!!!!!!!!!! I have used the video sooooooo many times but I just cant get TOTAL DESTRUCTION!!!! Ive been doing this level for about 4 months!!!!!!!!

It worked Travis, and I had two blocks left on the left. You’re a genius!
You guys are making this way too hard. Here’s a quick method for achieving 100% total destruction: 1.) As Travis suggested, use the two blue birds to destroy the ice. 2.) Again, following Travis’ advice, use one yellow bird to destroy the wood that joins the two pillars; complete destruction of the wood is not necessary. 3.) Switch to the Mighty Eagle, and land the bomb between the two pillars.
There you have it! This worked for me multiple times!
Man, i’m glad i read this comment before spending much time on the other methods. Had been stuck on 2-12 for ages, the missing feather of the 63. With this method i got it on my 4th try

Oh, and i had 2 blocks remaining, the 2 base blocks of the left tower. Seems those are not needed for 100%, but everything else was cleared
