Anyone remember this curio from 1977? From the Spot the Pigeon EP. Pretty naff but the video is a bit of a time capsule.

Aagghh, I forgot New Boots and Panties was in 1977. A absolute classic, but with a dash of the parental advisory (I was 17 and living at home at the time). Gotta have this.

1977 was of course the year of Rumours and the great Steely Dan album Aja. If we have nailed down 1971 and 1977 as truly great years of the 1970s (with nods to 1970, 1972 and 1978 as well), does anyone have a candidate for the best of the 1980s? Well aware we are into Fall territory here…

It turned out that John Lydon really did like Pink Floyd after all.

1977’s album Animals by Pink Floyd is my favourite of theirs. Now in case you think they should have been swept away by punk, just listen to the lyrics. Roger Waters was far more angry than the ravings of the punks and he had hardly started (a mere hors d’oevres to the Wall and The Final Cut).

Probably contravened the BP’s rules with that version of Peaches @brianN. I heard it once on prime time Radio 1 back in the day. The DJ kept it going to the end, probably the best policy in the circumstances.
