I’m not sure a musical about a formula one driver would ever work.

You’ll have to take in series one first @hunnybunny which was made 10 years ago,I’d almost given up on S2.
If you like a faster pace Day of the Jackal is superb. Also looking forward to a new Rogue Heroes (bet Mr Compton likes that one).

Yes poor Kevin just got the one series. Those meanies at the BBC again however they do period drama better than anyone. Loving Wolf Hall although there’s a lot of creaking going on. Can’t work out if it’s Henry’s knees or the wooden flooring Nothing wooden about the acting, Rylance and Lewis superb. My wife on the other hand hates it. She reckons…[Read more]

Speaking of comedy shows cut off in their prime I was reminded of this from It’s Kevin. For those not familiar with the famous Bill Grundy interview with the Sex Pistols someone on Utube cobbled them both together. This is Kevin Eldon’s take on thingshttps://youtu.be/0NQphQZXhFM?si=E10W3Aza7MoJjpPO
At least Count Arthur got 3 series.

Nick Drake died 50 years ago this week. This is sublime. Strings arranged by Harry Robinson who was (wait for it…) the leader of Lord Rockingham’s XI.

Hey Dan on the basis of body count per solution Dixon of Dock Green must’ve been in a league of his own.

Hopefully one of these days he’ll be the victim of a trouser fire while he’s wearing them.

Speaking of Midsomer I see the latest offering centred around a drag show in the village of Elverton-cum-Latterly.Who writes this stuff?Russell T davies?

Morse was pants! Always falling in love with unsuitable women, sometimes the murderer. Too busy doing crosswords and listening to classical music to catch the criminals.

As for your scholarly detective league table @desperate-dan I seem to remember Morse was near the bottom.Deeply flawed analysis.

Hey @karen68 I lived in Fraserburgh on the north coast for a time and they have their own lingo(Doric).Took me a while to get used to phrases like:
Fitlike ma loon (How are you young man) Obvs that was quite a way back.
Ging awa n spear Dan (go and ask Daniel)
Ma quiney’s a sair een (My daughter has a sore eye)
There used to be a documentary…[Read more]

Bother, my analysis on useless TV detectives has been lost along with the BP archives. That was scholarly work. I seem to remember that Columbo may have been the best (on the basis of body count per solution). Tosh and Calder are heading the other way, up into Midsomer territory. Population of Shetland is less than 20,000 for goodness sake.

Enjoying the latest series of Shetland but more really lazy scriptwriting. Three episodes in and the body count has already reached 4 with 2 other close calls. You just know if someone falls over on a boat there’ll be a handy spike to go straight into their brain. Can’t see this one stopping at 4.
