Our strategy for Ham ’em High level 12-7 is to fire the Red bird into the top of the tower above the hatted pig. This should cause the TNT on the right side to detonate. Then bomb the hatted pig, causing the boulder to fall and detonate the two TNT in the bottom-left. The score in the video below is 65,700.

I think out of ALL the AB and AB Seasons levels this one would probably get my vote as the hardest one to 3 star. When even 94K (and with every last matchstick) obliterated it still only gave me 2 stars I was amazed!
After an eternity 96K ticked up and I finally cracked it, then took great pleasure in the Mighty Eagle 100% detruction it so richly deserved :-)
Final score was 98K+ but I have only ever 3 starred it twice.

We didn’t. We just hadn’t had a chance to approve them yet! Localizing the site is actually on my to-do list, but would obviously love help.
Finally got 12-8. First red bird just a little above level to break the second board, this should drop the whole left side and get the first two pigs. (It works about one time out of five, I had better luck dropping the whole first column by aiming at the second board than the first one). Second is the white bird aimed just a little higher, drop the egg just before it hits. The explosion should open the wall, dropping the second layer and getting the pigs there, and the deflated bird should shoot up and knock the wood near the top pig in the third column, completing the level with two birds. Done right and with enough luck, the bird or the collapsing wood will also knock over enough to get the TNT over the wall. In about 100 tries I did it once, but that’s enough.
Is anyone else having an issue with the golden egg on 12-12? I’ve knocked the trophy over, no egg or new level on the golden egg screen. Am I missing something or is this a possible glitch?
If I’m not mistaken, you have to actually destroy the trophy.

Done! 3 stars without using the eagle and i got the golden egg.I hit it with the yellow bird then one of the blue ones rolled down and touched it then the golden egg popped up. Its on the second golden egg page on the left side of the screen.

There’s no problem there. If you notice, the comment is from 2010. At that time, BirdLeader was using a different email address. The avatar you see is loyal to that email address.

Whilst I’m here now, I’d just like to say this is one of the lowest scoring levels I’ve played – meaning it’s hard to get higher scores when you have destroyed nearly everything. (I know, there’s other levels like this too.) I’m trying to improve my current score of 72,350 but getting nowhere fast. Unlike JamBri, “a bunch of luck” isn’t coming my way.
Re the comment up top from Habanero in Dec 2010 re scores in the 90,000s, they must be talking about some other level – to date, the top score on this level is 85,310 by the amazing manu malin.
Speaking of the great Manu malin, I’d love to see an explanation of the strat he used to post that amazing score. I practically had to move heaven and earth to crack 70k.
@truckdriver, I didn’t get 85k, but I did manage a decent scoring 1-birder. See my post near the bottom.
I tried that for a while, and haven’t made it work just yet. But I did manage to squeeze out an extra 7k with a 2-birder.
I must have tried this level a gazillion times. I knew I was in trouble when I saw that big fat white pig. I cannot make them work for me!! Anyway I hit a shot and somehow got a one birder. No one was more shocked than I was. I looked & everything was gone & the numbers started ratcheting up. I’m here all alone in the desert trying to improve my scores so no one will probably see this. Yes, there is a God. Now if she would only help with level 12-6.

@windwalker – I am so sorry, but I just don’t remember. I think I was so dumbfounded I forgot to mention my strat (if there was one). I even went back & shot a few, hoping it would ring a bell, but it didn’t help. I keep thinking it had to do with that house like structure but that is only a guess. :(
@windwalker – I tried it again & I think what I did was either hit the little house on top or the plank that sticks out a little a little under it. That sent debris flying to the TNT on the right & one of the pieces flew over & ignited the TNT on the left. That’s the best I can do & I hope this helps & doesn’t mislead you.
“next”‘s link is wrong
Walkthroughs are organized by upload date. It’s a bit confusing but not wrong.
Some older videos were re-recorded after the release of the episodes to be consistent with the newer ones.
? Sorry, that can’t be right, I query this @sal9. When you click on “next” shouldn’t you be taken to Ham ‘Em High 12-8, and not Seasons Christmas 1-22? (The “Prev” link is OK.)
What Sal said is exactly correct. The Next and Prev buttons do not go in order of level numbers. For brief spurts, this is done, but that is not how the sort works.
Rather, the Next and Prev buttons go in order of date/time published. There is nothing wrong with the buttons. They are working properly.

OK, I know I’m getting pedantic now – so apologies but, if the “next” button doesn’t always take you to the logical next level, then why have it? This website is extremely well laid out and very easy to navigate and having this happen is an anomaly to me.
Quite wrong. The “Next” button works most logically by going to the next post published.
Now, most of the time, we publish all posts in order in a very short timeframe. Take Piglantis for example. Start at the 1-1 3-star walkthrough, next is 1-2, …, 2-15. But what is next after that? Do we sit and wait on our hands until the next update for Seasons to continue the string? The logic doesn’t work like that. It goes to the Golden Egg walkthroughs, then the Feather walkthroughs, because those were the next published posts.
Let’s take another example. Surf & Turf for ABo. 15 levels were released a while ago. When the next batch is released, it will start with 16, …, 30. While it may be “logical” to have the “Next” button take you from 15 to 16, it really makes far less sense to link two posts that are months apart, than to link two time-consecutive posts.
One last example, which is actually why there occasionally are these errors. Advent-style releases. This specific batch of levels (HeH Chapter 12) was released during Seasons Greedings. Every day, we needed to add a new post for that day’s level. But we couldn’t simply wait until the 25th or 26th to publish all of the HeH levels (thereby keeping both SG and HeH time-consecutive). That’s not logical, nor is it good business. So we had to sneak the HeH levels in-between. Now the site was very young then and we couldn’t get all of the posts up in one day, which is why there’s a 4- or 5-day gap between 12-7 and 12-8 posts. But even still with all our advances, the same thing happened during Summer Pignic last year (I forget which update landed during the midst of that).
So what I’m trying to say is, the logic is still pure, and the logic is indeed logical. Most of the time it works out fine. But like any other form of “logic” you could use to sort these posts, there’s gonna be holes.
OK, you win, lol. I’m using Mr. Spock’s Vulcan logic and you’re using human logic or is it the other way around. Either way thank you for explaining. I’ve learnt some more about ABN and what makes it tick.
Tip: The pig under the cowboy hat has to go. The ball will not drop on the second shot if it is present. Debris destruction of the wood structure will provide a higher score. Gained over 7k with the strategy in the video.
Indeed. I gained another 5k doing it this way. The key is having the WB roll to the left after expending it’s eggbomb. It ain’t all that easy, since I don’t get it but every 3rd or 4th time.
No, it’s definitely possible to get the boulder to fall on the second shot even with the hatted pig present – I got my score with it in the way. But it did rely on a fairly lucky rotation of the bottom wood plank, similar (but not identical) to what the video shows.
As an aside, I think this is one of the least intuitive levels to figure out the strategy. When looking at something like this for the first time, I immediately assume that the idea is to sever the rope holding the boulder to detonate the TNT stack and hope that the raining debris sets off the other stack. Needless to say, that doesn’t work very well here.
Followed the video to gain an extra 4,000pts.
I prefer a different method for the second bird. Rather than bomb the plank as shown in the video and rely on some good luck to release the boulder, send the bird low, between the ice pile and the plank, and release the egg a fraction of a second before it hits the rope to the boulder. The egg will sever the rope while the carcass takes out the plank. The tower won’t fall every time, so there’s still some frustration involved, but in general I find it more reliable and a little higher-scoring.
As others have pointed out, a one-birder is also possible with more or less the same shot as the video, but it doesn’t happen often, and even more rarely does it get a good score (since something needs to cut the rope to the boulder and detonate the front TNT).

@AMslimfordy, up on top of this page where the “Next” arrow is, when you click on that it takes you to Seasons Christmas instead of Walkthrough #8 for Ham ’em High, you might want to look into that, it also happened in the Mine & Dine walkthroughs but I can’t remember where.

I aim between the hat and the horizontal stick above, hoping to get some good lean to the right, relying on the carcass to take out pig under hat. This is easy to do. To help the lean along, I immediately sling white bird as early as I can, close over the plank. White bird will bounce up catching eve of the roof, and will often nearly clear the platform. I consistently get scores 72-74K, and I believe much more is possible. This eliminates the chance of a 1-birder, but works very well for 2 birds.

This one just seemed to be luck of the draw for me. I pretty much followed video with perhaps slight aim differences each time. Try try again…I don’t feel I did anything extremely different but eventually got score above average.
Managed it with just the first red bird but only scored 63490. Moving on…
1 bird and a lot of luck on this one.

As I remember the wood plank must roll around to cut the rope so that the boulder can detonate the 2 TNT boxes.

Alternate strat……..Aim the first bird right at the pig with the hat. (between the hat and the blue block) There are several things that can happen, but often the front TNT goes off and the score is in the area of 40K-43K. Second shot to what is left of the top, knocking it over into the right side TNT. Unfortunately, although it is reasonably easy to get scores over 80K, I think my 87K is about as high as it is possible to score with a 2 birder.
Hey @stocktoad! Your alt strat got me 84k (so far)! Thanks! I did raise up from 72 to 79 with 2 birds the usual way then read your post and tried your suggestion. At least I will sleep a little better tonight.
The 1 bird big bang and getting closer to or over 90k requires precise aiming and a whole lotta luck.

@3sjs Flung one bird towards the vertical wooden board behind the cowboy hat wearing piggy, about halfway between the top of the hat and the horizontal wooden board, like I had done several hundred times and finally got a great score. The plank holding the stone sort of rolled over and cut the rope holding the stone, blowing up the tnt while the top level leaned to the right, fell onto the right side tnt.
