Versus mode requires gems?

Hi,

My 5yo has been frustrated today because he cant play in versus mode without using gems. Is this typical? I haven’t been able to figure out if he always plays in versus mode and uses gems but now doesn’t want to (he has decided to save up for a kart), or if this is a new thing and there is a setting or something we need to change to allow him to play without using gems each time?

Versus mode has been pretty retarded, since like a year. You have a smart son: he has realized Rovio is conducting an in-house cheating scheme against its players and he will not fall for it. The recorded (?) player’s gameplay includes, nowadays, stupidly high amounts of gems being spent, making it really hard to legitimate players.

@raizir The original post was reffering to the old (fake) multiplayer feature. It does not exist anymore.
