Soft-Launched Game: Angry Birds Island – Canned

Recently Rovio announced that the Angry Birds Island game, a soft-launched remake of Blast, has been discontinued.  The game is being closed at the end of June for all Western players (despite the fact it is mostly offline), and will be reworked for the Chinese market.  Honestly, I think this was the original plan (see Blast Island from last year), but I don’t know why Rovio decided to give it a shot here.  Either way, it’s been pulled from the app store, so that’s that.

What’s the point of wasting resources on making games, if a quarter of them don’t even see the release day?
