  • so, after these last few updates the game has been unplayable. I cannot get the game going properly. the game lags big time once Im finished with the loading screen, and thus the game crashes, I get a black screen, then being kicked back to my iPad meny.

I have cleaned my pad as much as I can, tried to reset it etc. most of my other games works fine…but am I unable to continue with angry birds epic until I buy a new pad? :(

@kristoffer-magnus Yeah, I’ve been playing Epic on my old iPad 2 since its launch… and I’ve been surviving. However, after the most recent update, the game was unplayable. Do you have a laptop or desktop at your disposal? I’ve switched to playing the game via Bluestacks Android emulator… not ideal but at least the game is playable and FREE of all the annoying bugs and issues we’ve all become used to.

I also have the IPad 2 and my husband has an IPad 1. I stopped playing Angry Birds for awhile because of all the problems. This was after the horrible Christmas event where many if us were cheated out of 6000+ mastery points. And that Rovio only gave us 60 gold coins as an apology! Not even enough to buy 1000 mastery points for all birds. After 6 months I decided to play again. Still have to many problems for me. I’m tired of the lock-ups, the people who start every event with a 10,000 plus point lead and a problem with the Facebook log ins. I have decided to give it to the end of next week to see if ANY of the problems are fixed. If not I will discontinue playing permantly. It is no longer fun for me, just frustrating. Hear that Rovio?

@kazoot @kristoffer-magnus — Rovio is unlikely to hear you unless you send them a support request. ABN is not part of Rovio.
As for playing on a iPad 2, I finally gave up and bought an iPad Air 2.
Will have to check back and see if I could ever get the latest version to run on the iPad 2. Rovio will tell you that the iPad 2 does not have enough RAM to work well with Epic, which is very resource intensive.
@kristoffer — You didn’t say which iPad you are using.

@kazoot @kristoffer-magnus — I was able to play the latest version of Epic on my iPad 2. Granted, it crashed frequently, and this was before the event started.
Not entirely sure what you mean by reset, but here’s what worked for me:
Make sure you have a Rovio account for Epic. If you don’t you may be able to backup game files manually @Amslimfordy @estar @birdleader???
Hard close all apps running in background
Wait 20 sec (best to wait to make sure device really hard closes all, I have had them reappear after power-down and restart)
Delete Epic and remove from Game Center
Do a hard power down of iPad. Best if it doesn’t immediately restart, but you have to release buttons as soon a screen goes black.
Wait 20 sec if you managed to avoid restart
    Restart device
Check to make sure that all apps really did close; if not, repeat process
    Reinstall Epic
Start game and go to nest to connect to Rovio account.
I have actually deleted and reinstalled game more than once after some of the recent updates.
Be sure that all apps are hard-closed before each time that you start Epic.
Use red totem in nest to log in.
If you want to log into FB, you may need to try 3 or 4 times even if you power-down device before you try. If you go immediately to the nest log in screen; wait a few sec. It will probably say login failed. Don’t despair, just click login again, and it should work.
If you don’t have any luck with all this, give up and buy a new iPad Air 2. They are great!
The iPad 2 really is pretty old, and most importantly it only has 500 MB of RAM, which is really not enough to run Epic.
If you buy something other than an iPad Air 2, make sure it has at least 1 GB of RAM. I think some of the iPad minis do not. Your helpful Apple salesperson will tell you that Apple does not list specs on RAM, and by-the-way you probably are confusing RAM with disk space (not true). You may be able to find RAM specs online.
    Good Luck!
