Official Rules from Rovio

After spending some time playing the game and in the forums I am wondering if there is any place we can get real answers from Rovio. Some of the questions like “Video timing” mentioned earlier, and “Is it worth spending gems to buy accessories for bots (does it make them stronger)? Anyone know about these? One would think Rovio would give us a good guide, especially since watching video and spending gems are two ways they can earn revenue. Any thoughts??

I’ve searched, and the only things I can find approaching any sort of guide are player-created.

Rovio’s official ABT FAQ (http://www.rovio.com/en/support/faq&support_category_id=158) only covers the most basic of topics.

TBH, most of the more complicated stuff I just learned from trial and error, or by reading through the threads in this forum.

Thanks @optimuspig, those guides were useless :) They really need to document this better for people who want to get more involved. I’d be willing to spend more money if I could trust the game, and become a better player without so much guesswork.

Yeah, but that’s pretty much the case for all of Rovio’s games isn’t it? (and to a large extent, the current app market in general).

The only app that I have with any decent documentation is Ticket to Ride, and that’s probably because: 1) you have to pay for the full app, and 2) it’s based on an existing board game so they just copied and pasted.

Yes, it is poor form on their part not to have a guide. I expect they make more money letting people click randomly to see what happens here and there. I for one would prefer to know what I am doing.

It is kinda sloppy on their part to not have a guide for the bigger things. All they have is FAQ and the in-game tutorial. Seem likes they could at least add some things to the FAQ to update it a bit. If they did have a big guide there wouldn’t be near as many topics on this forum. Even this one itself wouldn’t exist. And we do need to keep these forums lively ( A bit of the reason why I’m here :D )

I suspect they get more money by having players careen around trying to figure out the the games, and paying for things like Gems out of frustration.

I quite enjoy fumbling around, making mistakes and learning. I am the kind that never reads the manual when I buy a gadget or appliance. If things go wrong I first think to find a user forum on the Internet before considering the manual.

Does anyone know what the stars above your level mean? So far I have noticed it say gunner, infantry etc. What is the significance of this?

It seems to be in increments of 5 as in your leveling up. I could be wrong but it also seems to be attached to the total score I see in the leaderboard as well @illawarrior2

@illawarrior2 the words above your rank such as “gunner”, “infantry”, “seeker” or whatever are simply titles tied to your current overall rank (i.e. total number of upgrade levels of all your TFs).

Each title applies to an increment of five ranks, so for example rank 1-5, 6-10, 11-15.

At the first rank in each increment you’ll have one star, at the second rank in each increment you’ll have two stars, and so on. So for example, at Rank 111 you’ll have one star, at rank 115 you’ll have five stars, and then at rank 116 you’ll get a brand new title and go back down to one star.

@ladydi102 I don’t know about the leaderboard (since I refuse to use Facebook, and I believe the two are connected), but from what I’ve read elsewhere I believe you are correct.

C’mon @ladydi just create a separate FB account only for ABT, trust me it will be easier thank using your personal one like i did, it’s impossible to keep them straight and find out who is friending your for the game and who is SPAM :) You’ll get access to a lot better players… Just Sayin’ :) :) :)
