Games won’t load

Suddenly the game won’t load. It doesn’t get beyond the Rovio page. I have iOS 13.5.1.

Does this with iPhone and iPad. Anyone else with this issue?

Yep, got the same issue. Also on iOS

Just ticked over the end of day 1 of the competition and can’t get back into the game.

Same here, on iPad.  A similar thing happened several years ago, and took months to fix.

After reading this topic, I opened my Android version and luckily this didn’t give any problems. So it seems to be an iOS-specific problem.

It’s an IOS problem. Anything iOS connected to Facebook is down it’s all over Twitter people not being able to open apps.

The game loads just fine when your iDevice is in the airplane mode – but you can’t do anything interesting. The moment you switch your device’s network on ABT crashes.

My ABT isn’t connected to Facebook but it still crashes.

Yes, crashing here too (iPad iOS v12.4.6). I’m not connected to Facebook (I don’t even have an account) but that’s not to say it’s not the Facebook APIs embedded in the app that are causing the problem.

Facebook has said it is investigating the problem and will likely fix the server-side issue within a couple of hours. As an individual user, there’s not much you can do apart from wait for the issue to be resolved. Some users have noted that they can launch apps in Airplane Mode successfully

As I understand it, it seems to be a problem with the Facebook iOS SDK. It gets unexpected data and crashes because it doesn’t know what to do.

Strangely enough, Angry Birds 2 works fine. I think both have Facebook integration and I’m not using it on either game.

There are also reports here in Sweden of other apps like Spotify, Tinder, Pinterest and Storytel having similar problems. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Edit: As of right now, just after 3 pm CET, it’s back to working. At least for me.

One positive thing I found: Those on iOS and iPadOS can now login with Apple ID (get 20 gems in the process) and have their progress (presumably) saved across multiple Apple devices. So, no need for Facebook!

And as @bastet stated ABT seems to work now!

Happens to me, but I do get past the Rovio page. Other games this happens on are on Transformers Earth Wars and Dragon Ball Legends.
