This just in! The Pigs CAN fly!
Yahoo Games nabbed an exclusive first look at Bad Piggies. After teasing us for weeks with images and short video clips (check out Hogwatch), Rovio has finally revealed some actual gameplay.
While Bad Piggies borrows features from Amazing Alex and Angry Birds, it definitely looks like it will offer very unique gameplay. Players start levels by constructing a vehicle on a grid, which you’ll use to try and steal the Birds’ eggs. We all know the Pigs aren’t the best engineers, so expect your vehicle to be held together by duct tape, snot, bird beaks, and broken screws. There are “millions of combinations”, so what you can create seems as endless as your imagination. Construct everything from cars to helicopters to planes (if you want to call them that). Keep in mind each level has certain objectives, so what you build should help the Pigs accomplish those goals, which will in turn earn you those coveted stars.
What we think we know so far:
- Create: Build contraptions with all sorts of engine parts: propellers, air pumps, coils, fans, and more.
- Controls: Different parts produce different controls, which you’ll use to steer your vehicle through unimaginable mazes
- Challenges: There seems to be various time and objective based challenges.
- Solutions: At 0:47 in the video we see a light bulb icon similar to the one in Amazing Alex. This likely means you’ll have the ability to share solutions. There also might be the ability to search solutions.
- New Music: An amazing new theme song. It’s similar to Angry Birds, but unique in its own way. I love it.
What we don’t know yet, or are unclear on:
- The cost and OS requirements have not been announced yet. For price, a pretty good guess is $0.99 USD for mobile, $2.99 for HD, and $4.95 for Mac (and PC later on).
- We don’t know if the ability to share solutions will be iOS only via Game Center or cross-platform. Regardless, we will create walkthroughs of “our” solutions.
- How will parts be chosen and configured? We assume you will start each level with a set of parts, which you can then drop into the grid wherever you want. We will see how open-ended this is and what restrictions are put in place.
- Will we see some secret — Golden Egg like — Easter eggs? Hope so!
- It’s still unclear how many levels and episodes there will be at launch.
Now, the freckled pig here is a LOT better than those old, furious, and bodiless birds! take note guys, but i’m joining the pig’s side!
Well, but I’ll be neutral. Sometimes with the Birds, Sometimes with the Pigs. I don’t want to disappoint the Birds.
The main screen must be the continuation of the comic.

Not quite. “Bad Piggies” was the copyrighted name of the pigs in Angry Birds. That’s why it appears on the splash screen.
Guys… now the website has all the pigs looking at a contraption that a pig is in.

Which begs the question, was it the Pigs’ island first and the Birds are the intruders on the island?
that’s a great question! but i’m not sure that the same island from the AB games, it looks a little different
I don’t think this is the same island, or else we’d see the birds watching them. ^-^ Also, it seems like the AB worlds are mainly flat, while this island is crazy steep.

I already see the link . Looks super , awesome and really epic .
But…!!! I have maybe a foolish question. The guy that plays the game on the video : plays on an iPad but maybe air playing on a TV. It that is an iOS 6 ; or kinda iCloud. Because I have an appleTV ; and untill know I can not play that way…!!! What you guys thing about it…!!!
According to the video,it seem it will have 3 episode :
1. Ground hog day
2. When pigs fly
3. The sandbox (bonus episode that give players a feature to make their very own vehicle with lot of materials and bigger grid :D)
He said in minute 03:00 that PC is coming on 27th of september to, and windows 8 & windows phone are coming later!

The developer said this too, along with many other Rovio employees. People misspeak. I’ve said 3 × 3 = 6 before accidentally, but it doesn’t make it true.

The game play looks great. The backgrounds and the play screens are forever changing. Create a device and then use it. And why not have pigs fly. Another creative idea and concept spin off from the great themes of Angry Bird. Will be glad to pay for the game. Nice work Rovio to keep us entertained.
I feel will be a few play mode, like Arcaed mode, Time Attack mode, Custom mode.
This game will be EPIC.Can’t wait for it to come out.

The media can make anything look negative. All of us would probably like to have one-tenth of the sucess Rovio has had. Judging from the previews I have seen of Bad Piggies, I don’t think anyone will be disappointed and it will remain in top 10 games for quite awhile.
it’s not a one hit wonder, it has 4 AB games, many web games, not to mention AA, the reporters need to do more research before they publish
They manipulate the facts to fit their story, instead of printing the truth. I know it is just games, but they tend to do that with everything. I hope Bad Piggies make them eat their words!!!
