Angry Birds Surf and Turf Level 23 Walkthrough

Surf and Turf level 23 can be done with just the first blue bird. Fire him straight ahead releasing almost immediately. The goal is to destroy the bottom glass triangles and the small (leftmost) glass block supporting the middle part of the structure. With a little luck everything will collapse and pop all the pigs. The score in the video below is 84,940.

One-birding this is possible, but it will drive you NUTS trying to do it! I haven’t yet, but basically send blue bird out right in front. You will have to work the timing out yourself, to see if you can get him to penetrate through everything in the first structure, which I have one on a lucky run. I didn’t get the pig in the second structure though, so I had to use another bird. tisk tisk tisk. 89k

For one-birder, pull blue back exactly horizontally, then lower 3 pixels (definition — one pixel creates one step in the sling, so 3 pixels means there are 3 steps in the sling). Tap immediately after release (before blue passes slingshot). Repeat as needed. Good luck.

Pixels are the same on any platform. It is short for “picture elements,” and each pixel consists of one red, one green, and one blue element. These three are the primary colors that correspond to the visual frequencies of human eyesight. Each R, G or B has a specific value, from, 0 to 255, which when combined in various values comprise all the colors of various shades and intensities that can be seen on a monitor screen.

Pixel values are generally expressed in x-number vertically x x-number horizontally. Also, generally speaking, the higher the pixel values, the sharper, cleaner and more detailed is the resultant screen images.

Historically, it has its basis in early TV technological experimentation, especially as it relates to the development of color TV. I could go into more detail, but right now, I’ve got to knock out another 200 miles, so I’ll end here.

The “secret” seems to be “don’t to pull the blue bird all the way back on the sling”. Instead, pull it back VERY gently and let it fling. I discovered this by accident and out of frustration. One I started doing it, I began causing more serious damage in the main structure while also killing the right-most pig. Eventually I one-birded it. I really hope Rovio never designs an AB episode level which absolutely requires a pull strength less than full. The reason I state this is that on my Android phone and using my finger, there is no way possible to see partial pulls. No matter where or how you try to place your finger, the point of contact is obscured as is the positioning of the bird in the sling. If I do not spend a couple bucks to buy ad-free versions of AB episodes, I certainly do not plan on spending more than that on a special stylus just to play the game.

What can I say? Winning this level was an entirely joyless experience. There is no feeling of achievement in spending hours doing the same thing, hoping for that one in a thousand chance that everything will fall just right.

Whoever designs levels like these is really not doing Rovio any favours. Die-hard obsessive compulsives like myself will keep going until they beat it, but I bet a large proportion of players give up after an hour. And once you’ve given up on ever 3-starring one level, you’re much more likely to give up on the game entirely.

Both times it’s also been when I’ve had a bird pulled back, but I don’t know if that’s necessary to the destruction or not. In either case both times it has happened it hasn’t taken out the far right pigs, and then actually ruins my shot for getting the bottom pig. Hopefully others have more luck than I have.

Far too much of this level depends on sheer luck. What annoys me most about it is the inconsistency. Example – in one shot a piece of rubble falling into the pit will take out the pig with the hat. In another, the world could fall in on him and he’s still smiling after it.

This is just a magnificently frustrating level for me. My high score I believe was achieved in relatively short order, using the technique outlined in the video. I have since not been able to match it in what must be over 1000 attempts. My strategies have varied a bit, and I have gotten close scores maybe half a dozen times since then. For me, the most reliable strategy uses a slightly above parallel launch of the blue bird with an immediate split. The bottom bird is the one I watch, making sure it breaks several of the ice blocks up front. The top bird should either hit the wooden beam above the ice block, causing the tower to collapse, or it may hit the ice block itself, causing the tower to collapse. Which one does not matter, as the preferrred result is the same just about as often. By far the best scores I have achieved have been with two birds, using the second bird to kill the remaining small pig under the center pane of glass. If you have not killed every other piggie on the level with the first bird, you may as well give up and try again.

Of the five or six times I’ve one-birded this level, the max score I have achieved is about 85K.

This is the first level in my experience that I have not been able to best my first 3-star score.

FYI you can 1 bird this level several different ways, aiming high and low, splitting early or late. It’s just a matter of which way those pesky wooden beams above the horizontal center pane of glass/ice fall.

I just one birded it and achieved a score of 97,060. I used a combination of the strategies you guys detailed. Here,s what you do: pull the blue bird back only halfway, and pull him straight. Split him just after he passes the ledge and cross your fingers! If it works, he’ll hit the bottom ice blocks and the middle ice block, causing the entire structure to collapse on itself and push the blocks outward to knock out the pig in the hat and the pig at the far right. Best of luck to you guys!

By David Moisan

84790 with two birds. The one-bird strategy depends too much on lucky destruction. I aimed the blue bird as in the video. Unlike other advice here, I aimed the blue very slightly upwards (to result in downward flight, very slight) and split at the crotch of the slingshot. The trajectory is important; as long as one bird destroys the glass at the bottom and the glass slab of the first structure, you are in the zone.

Then, let’s say the small pig in the left structure remains: Aim Yellow to the remaining wood plank across the top over the pig. With luck, this will push the structure over and cause much damage as it pops the pig.

This is a very hard level no matter what. It was much, much easier to aim the blue birds to collapse most of the left structure and spill debris to pop the pigs in the pit and to the right, and then get the remaining pig than to hope for a one-birder. The conditions for a one-birder are just too narrow.

So here is the winning trajectory of the (only) bird: http://angrybir.de/1dJEdTf

The top bird must hit the plank, the middle one must rebound and hit the vertical wood block (below the glass one), and the bottom bird must enter into the glass triangles, destroying 3 of them in the process.

Of course, the complete structure must topple to the right, and to get the highest scores, the second small pig (on the right of the vertical plank) must stay in place so that a part of the structure rolls over it to destroy the horizontal glass.

Then if you are really lucky, here is the result: http://angrybir.de/1dJECF3
