Our strategy for Angry Birds Star Wars Path of the Jedi level J-8 is to push the leftmost downward into the path of the laser beam. If you can shift the laser to shoot downward, the entire structure will collapse, thanks partially to the stand-in Vader losing his powers.

Whoever designed this level had a fiendish mind. You can nudge the ball above the laser almost (but not quite enough) to deflect the laser beams as noted above. The only way to push it far enough to do any good is to have Luke hit it so that he bounces up and the falls to hit it again. However there’s an easier way to deflect the laser. Aim Luke into the leftmost Woden structure and push it over into the laser ball. This works almost every time to deflect the laser. It takes luck to get it deflected to where you want though.

I agree. Simply using Luke as a bowling ball into the top of the tower gives a more repeatable method of moving the laser.

Can I get a little clarification about your method (force, aiming point, saber or no)? For some reason your “works almost every time” has been a doesn’t work at all for me. Since other people are singing your praises for it, I’m thinking I’m doing something wrong.

@ahill4168 I had better luck using the strat from pydziak below, aiming at the angled support in the left tower, swing just before Luke hits. I found it more reliable to direct the laser to the right. There’s still a whole lot of luck required, took me a few hundred tries to reach my current score.

Fairly high degree of repetition: aim at the angle support at the left most structure. Use lightsaber before impact so the vertical metal beam is not damaged. When Luke hits this beam it (for the lack of more technical term) “chopsticks” the laserball down and then as everything colapses it is driven downwards (fairly often). 87550

Thank you @Pydziak for the post. I was doing that prior to reading your post but since you wrote it on 12/12/12 (what a great date) credit is yours. These level with hitting the roller ball gun are a riot to play because it seems there are no repeatable outcomes. Each fling brings a new pattern of travel for the gun ball. What a hoot!!!

I was there at 61.300 before. So long time I was at another places of SW. 3* border rised? 5 min. with Pydziak (are you Polish?) and rised to 85K+. Little hard to repeat (ok 85.690).

I take 84K+ too by Luke high lob with landing at Yellow Pig.

Some revision to Pydziak way: to “use lightsaber before impact” it’s also not only to not damage metal beam, simply “little earlier” => 89.060 :).

This is exactly what I did to get my score, after that shot you can only wait to see how the lazer ball bounces!! ;D These lazer balls are fun if a little frustrating when they don’t bounce the way you want them to!! Pure ‘L’ factor involved!

Thanks @Pydziak for the strat and @crazy-rider for the video. Hope I am now safely above average. Has anyone else experienced the laser-ball stoping with direct aim on the Vader stand-in, but the laser pulses from the ball don’t pop him?

I think that any method works fine, all you need is “Luck” for the laser to be redirected to where you need it most.

I got 88k using a Bloated Luke strat. Bloat Luke into the upper left junction of the wood beams. Patience, young Jedi. It may take a few attempts to hit that sweet spot so the laser ball dislodges enough to damage the right side while the left side falls. The last few k before bonus count come quickly.

I have a different method that gives good results. I don’t remember what I did to get my present score, but this method got me several scores in the 85,000 area. Are those ears on that top pig? they look like ears, but they are both on the same side. Aim the dots to the area between the ears (or whatever they are) Activate before you get to the pig. You want Luke to hit the round disk and carom down to the laser ball. With Luke hitting the ball, you get different things happening than when the bar hits the laser. As with all methods on this level, it is mostly luck after you hit Luke into the laser.

Before I tried to use the laser I arced Luke through the first and second hanging discs and activated the light saber just before impacting Darth. I did get a one “birder” and scored 80k. Several two “birders” scoring around 75K. The way for higher scores is best achieved by using the laser as described above by several people. A little luck is involved, but success is to be had with some patience.

The lucky bounce in the video is hardly a strategy, sorry. As for knocking the left tower into the ball, sure, for a long time now but it still doesn’t aim it well every time. Then, when it does, and the heavy pieces fall, they inevitably do NOT fall through everything. Far from a hoot for me, just annoying and frustrating.

I aimed my first bird high and between the first two floating discs, timing it so I could redirect the cannon lasers. Vader in the right corner is taken out and the discs fall taking out everything else. Score – 79,640.
