Our strategy for Angry Birds Star Wars Death Star level 2-23 is to toss the pilots into the third glass block from the bottom splitting them at the last second causing a pretty significant amount of damage but most importantly opening up a hole which should allow Han shoot lasers down into killing the last pig in the bottom right corner.

I’ve found that if you split the pilots a bit earlier than in the video, so that they hit the adjacent wooden blocks as well, there seems to be a better collapse and makes the route for the 2nd shot more probable.

Your tips works fine, but the structure doesn’t collapse (which is a good thing if you ask me) :)
Right below the wood-and-glass blocks are weaken, so Han could get through it and shoot the last pig smiling at me (and his friends)

I was replaying some DS levels again. I was playing with max screen because I well remember the entrance point & I rise nicely 3 times.

Maybe – as Kimmiecv below wrote max screen helps. Triple pilots not only opening a gap, they crashes 2 important glass parts: down left trangle and glass box over wooden one. This opening a way to shot – OR with more precision / luck – to clear fly inside: http://angrybir.de/ZXB26B.

I was playing few days away of PC but I divined so I set a rather good score. Now I discovered it’s #3 position which i enjoy (link after 2nd shoot higher).

I have noticed the strangest thing in this level. When I zoom in all the way on the first shot, I always get a clear path. If I zoom out at all, there is always one of the metal blocks in my way. Has anyone else noticed this?

I thoought I’d give this a try. I took 10 good first shots, meaning the fighter pilot breaks through both layers of blocks and all the upper pigs are destroyed. Out of that, I had 2 clear shots at the last pig. I didn’t immprove on eh score I already had, but thsi definately has promise if you’re starting with 0. As a side note, my 2 clear shots happened in the first 4 shots. Disappointing that I was 0 for 6 for the remaining shots and was unable to improve my score.

I had my highest score hitting the glass triangle above the last pig. The path to that one is often open. Then debris falls on the last pig.

I am playing the PC version, and wondering why I can’t get 3 stars on this level? Hoth 3-26 I have 87360. And still on 2 stars? is there a fix that I missed?

The 3-star threshold for Hoth 3-26 is 92k.

Just an observation I haven’t seen mentioned here, I noticed you get better destruction and usually a clearer path for the second bird if the triangle wood block holding the pig on the bottom left is also destroyed on the first hit with the blues.

@kimmiecv I noticed the same thing. Getting a lot of destruction on the first shot is key for higher scores. I think it also helps if you can find a path for Han to dive in and shoot through that is angled much lower than the video. That way you can destroy more debris by undercutting it. The higher angle Han shot tends to leave most of the debris below it.

anybody else notice the physics on the facebook deathstar update are different? i just can’t get the destruction on the first shot. and i am following the video precisely.

THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one who saw that.
Each and every one new DS level is messed up. Those videos are not helpful now.
On PC they worl like a charm. On FB one brick that won’t destroy completely is ruining rest of the level.
I’m struggling with almost every level and just gave up cause it is just stupid. I know what to do, I did this dozens of times on PC and here, I just can’t…

It’s true. I’m quite convinced now that playing on Facebook takes more damage to break blocks (probably to encourage using and buying more power-ups), and this new batch of Death Star levels has been dreadful. This level in particular is being quite resilient. Hitting the same blue block the same way has never seemed to break even half as many blocks in the first shot in the video. Best I’ve managed at this point is 67k in 2 birds.

And then 5 minutes later I finally get the front bunch of blocks to topple backwards after the second shot to clear out a lot more for 73k. Good grief.

I have to agree 100% with the assessments here. That first shot simply doesn’t do enough damage to get 3 stars. My high is 69,230 so I’m still almost 3,000 from 3 stars. I’ve no doubt tried many 100’s of times.

nothing working for me.. it goes into slow motion and bearly does any damage, no matter what zoom, what shot, or no matter what device im playing on… ive tried everyones tips.. its just messed up and doesnt play right’

Is it just me, or has anybody else noticed the required score for 3 stars creeping up? I see the 64k scored in the video netting 3 stars, but I have a high score of 71k, and still just 2 stars. Fwiw, I’m playing on a droid phone.

For sure there will be puppies today. I just got a score of 64170 with 2 birds, for a total of 84170 with the 2 bonus birds added. I went to take a screen shot to show the trajectory of bird 2, and inadvertently touched the screen, activating the third bird. Aaaaaaggghhhh!!! So lost 10K. Moral of this story: secure your score before taking screen shots! Here is the sad screen shot showing the 2-bird score and the activated red.

Don’t you just hate that @peejaydee27? I had achieved the best first bird clear in my history playing this level. I go to pick up a second bird, as I’m sure I’ve done a hundred thousand times before, and the sling acted as though I had picked up and released it at the 7pm position. Not only was that a guarantee of over 80k but also most likely a Puppy! Best hints so far – @ahill4168 to zoom all the way in and @kimmiecv to make sure the triangular block is broken. That’s a good reset indicator that saves a lot of time. I’m up a few thousand already. Good luck with the challenge, all!

@peejaydee27 I can’t believe the same thing just happened to me, fortunately mine wasn’t a puppy score….sorry to hear about that for you.

I’d had my highest 1st bird score of 45850 & pic from that is a little lower trajectory than video, but it’s not working at all now. Was your 1st bird trajectory like video or lower? I’m getting frustrated with this one & that usually doesn’t happen with me, but that 3rd bird self launching ticked me off …. ggrrrrr

@peejayidee27 @maiasatara @justpast40 This level must bring out the worst in us. I had a first shot of 47K and tried to get too cute with a very easy second shot and missed the pig completely. Never got that high on the first shot again. Still trying though.

Hi @justpast40. I figured that the possible key here was those 2 sets of parallel steel beams with blue and brown blocks sandwiched inside. They are in the middle of the structure and support/protect the rest. If you don’t destroy them, especially the lower one, there is no chance if a high score. I found the best way is a precision shot. Aim so the tractor beam passes through the point where the 2 brown squares touch (bottom left), then raise it up a pixel or two. The beam will now pass just below the smalles circle pattern in the rightmost brown box. (Hope that makes sense!). I know it sounds ridiculously precise, but I’ve tried other trajectories and this one seems most consistent in bringing the structure down. Second shot is a judgement call depending on how the debris lies.
Still didn’t get another puppy score after my disaster yesterday, but still trying :))

i make the score on PC.
first bird a little bit over the middle from wood-block on left, split late,
the steel-block with the red lamp must break and many blocks fall down.
the second kill the last pig, use the 3 laser to make many points.
here a video on MAC with not so many points, is only an example.

Thanks for video @comex666, it confirmed my post (above) to peejaydee27 that aiming lower than on video produced some very good 1st shot points total. Despite the fact I had an issue with 3rd bird launching in above comment, I did just at least manage my 1st “official” improved Challenge score bettering Android phone’s starting Challenge score of 80150 to 81670 on iPad. It’s not a puppy yet … tee hee tee hee …. but for now I’m in Top 50.

I’m of the mind that there is a precise pixel that needs to be aimed for each time. Per @comex666, it is just above the middle of the low wood block. More precisely, it is a half-pixel above the top of the half circle, where the curved dark line extends outward.

You’ll know if you’re onto something if your initial strike, just before impact, destroys or mostly destroys the bottom square metal block. If not, you can reset immediately to save time. If so, getting 40K+ on the first shot is very common, perhaps 1 in 3 tries.

For the second shot, I hope for a good lie. The highest first shot scores don’t necessarily mean high scores overall. I aim to land on the column just above center, and then I fire down and to the left, hoping for my shots to be contained and ricochet around until they die out.

This is one of those levels that just sucks you in and won’t let go. You can get so close but be so far away. You make what you think are the exact same shots and you you can get wildly different results. What seems like the perfect first shot then you get squat on the second shot. Then since you just can’t walk away you try it again and the points just keep adding up. I love challenges like this. I aimed blue just below the highest corner of the lower left wood block and activated just before passing left corner of the same block. Trajectory of Han was through the two far right wood blocks. Fired about 10:00 after impact.

I’ve been playing this level just the way @wicket182 described it. After thousands of attempts, I finally got one with enough points – 84,870 – for another puppy.

I don’t like to do this as I believe one only has so many chances, but I am invoking the WHINE factor.

On May 8th I came up about 800 points short of a puppy. On the 9th, I came up 330 points short(on a 330k level). I didn’t do the challenge on the 10th or 11th. Came back today. Started off at 76k. After about an hour of constant flinging, I got to 83,170, just 750 short of a puppy.

I have an hour and a half to get another 750!
