Well, yesterday we were right about an Angry Birds Star Wars II update coming soon, but totally wrong about the episode (most players will likely be quite happy that it didn’t skip ahead to Revenge of the Sith).
Today Angry Birds Star Wars 2 Master Your Destiny (v1.6) was released on iOS and Android via Google Play and Amazon App Store, with more platforms coming soon. Master Your Destiny is different in that it’s a swap-episode. By that we mean you don’t start with a predetermined line up, rather you get to pick — swap or Telepod in — the characters you want to fling.
This update includes:
- 30 new levels in the special Master Your Destiny episode! There are 15 bird side and 15 pork side levels that unlock after earning 10 stars. Our walkthroughs live if you need help.
- Ranks:
- Bird Side

The free characters every 8 hours r still there?
Don’t understand how coins are awarded in this episode. I didn’t keep track of how many coins I started with, which would have been OK, except for the fact that you seem to be awarded a lot more coins than the ones you see in the level.
After completing level 1 with 3 stars and gathering the 4 visible coins, I had 1701.
After completing level 2 with 3 stars and gathering 4 of the 5 visible coins, I had 1855!
No idea what’s going on.
@mvnla2 It could be that you got one of the new achievements for collecting coins.
@joeyba — I got free characters this morning (3 cause I watched 2 ads), and still have carbonite melting.
@birdleader: there are no new iOS achievemdnts, but there are indeed lots of new in game achievements. But most of them are bugged. I will report the bugs later today.
@Chriss :
What achievements bug ? I have any bug yet.
At the begining, achievement of collected coins 1 are at 100% beacause you have already collected them. Finish one level and collecte one coins and the four in-game achievements will be complete.
Otherwise, Galactic empire are still bugued for you ?
I completed the bird-side, but there is no cut scene at the end. True, I didn’t 3* everything.
I look forward to the non swap walkthroughs to come…
Wait a minute…
Thus far, the lovely and talented Tusken Raider has been able to one bird the first five Bird levels. If he needs backup, I’ve got Vader waiting in the wings for cleanup.
Likewise – except I’m doing it the other way round!!
@thatguy181 and @earthbound — Are you using telepods, or did you buy permanent characters?
I bought vader with coins earned in the game (never spent any of my achievement coins on anything but vader). With the recent 1000+ coins they added to the game, I figured I’d gotten enough enjoyment out of the game to buy some coins and thus buy the tusken raider (whom I already knew to be absurdly powerful from a few carbonite versions I got of him).
With those two, I don’t expect to run into any issues.
@mvnla2 – all my characters are permanent bought through coins, I’m finding that completing the levels for 3 stars is proving easy using these two characters
All levels but one (Bird side 14) I was able to 3 star with just Vader and the Tusken Raider.
Non swap walkthroughs ?????
It was a joke since the entire point is these chapters require swaps (and as such strongly encourage people to spend/buy coins).
Waiting for strong characters out of carbonite is going to require patience and luck.
Fortunately I’ve been diligently melting carbonite and watching ads whenever possible, so in general I get 3 or 4 melts a day. You sometimes get as many as 3 of a character in a single melt. I also think it is true that you are more likely to get a character if you have a lot of them already.
I started with
~446 birds and
481 pigs unfortunately ~90 of them were Jabba (I mistakenly bought 2 bundles instead of 1 on sale, and I’ve been getting lots of him ever since).
@Chris — A joke, I’m sure.
I hope that those who’ve been wanting the ability to pick their own line up are happy with this episode. It actually turns out to be more fun than I expected. I don’t have any telepods or permanent characters, so some of the challenge is matching the task to the characters you have a lot of, and only using your precious characters when you really need to.
All Master Your Destiny players … I can’t imagine anyone spending the characters needed to really narrow down the 3* minimums, unless you have lots of telepods or permanent characters. So I think it would help if you check your 2 and 3* scores against the tentative 3* min, and post them if they would help narrow it down. A somewhat high 2* score helps determine the lower bound on the 3* min.
@mvnla2 :
I ended the side birds in 3 stars and actually I put quite a lot of characters, fortunately that I had Tusken in permanent.
On the other hand the reward to have reached the rank 5 was full of characters as well as permanent young Anakin.
I look forward to seeing which infinity I shall have with the side dark…
@GrimmJow — Have you been checking your scores against the 3* mins to see if you can help narrow them down?
@mvnla2 :
If my score can help, I can give them…
But oups, I had forgotten @amslimfordy had deleted and blocked all my score beacause I’m a liar and cheater. The biggest joke of my life.
Actually @GrimmJow you were blocked from our leaderboards for blatantly ignoring our policy of not permitting scores obtained with Power Ups.
@amslimfordy:
Until now it is still and still only your word against mine and it without any proof from you. I play this game since at the beginning, I have them all, I finished them all to 100% with the achievements, I participate actively on your site….
But yes, I seem to be the perfect cybercriminal…
I gave you the opportunity to prove your scores were not obtained with Power Ups. You declined that opportunity. Seems like sufficient proof for us.
Check me if I’m wrong, but if a player posts a crazy high score and is asked to verify the score, isn’t the burden of proof on the player and not the admin?
Seems like that has been the policy of this site since I joined. (way back in May of 2011)
@amslimfordy, @sparty83 :
I spent a rather consequent time to bring in quite my scores. And without any warning, overnight, we erase me everything.
And you believe sincerely that I am again going to waste time to try to prove something to people as you ?
Launch you in the comedy, you are endowed to make laugh.
@GrimmJow Only the extreme scores were removed initially. After your defiance, all scores were removed and you were blocked from the leaderboard. Again, I offered you the opportunity to prove your scores were legitimate, though I had sufficient evidence to the contrary.
Hey Slim, this might be off topic, but I am new and I don’t know how you guys make a profile picture
Welcome @Rowdypup! See our FAQ for instructions: https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/about/faq/#general
ok thx
Thx so much Slim it worked!
I have actually been on this website for at least 2 years now and have never had the time to make an account
Ok…so I’m a bit confused….I’ve never used the bonus birds so I have quite a few – or should I say HAD! I’m going to easily run out before I get half way through….some people have mentioned ‘permanent’ birds – what are they & how do I get them? Have 3 starred all other episodes if that matters?
you have to use credits when you tap (or click) the character swap button on the menu screen and permanent birds are character swaps that can be used once per level, forever
Hope this helps ;)
Click on the Shopping Cart > Character of Choice > Permanent.
Can you use the same telepod more than once in a round?
Can you still buy a permanent use of pork-side characters in bird-side levels?
Glad to know you can still get permanent characters, but boy, are they expensive! Does anyone know if the characters are now more expensive than they used to be? Are coins more expensive than they used to be. It looks like the $ equivalent for a permanent version of a desirable character is ~$50!!! Can you use permanent characters more than once in this episode? They talk about “stacking up to 4 permanent characters” for use in a single episode.
@mvnla2 You can use a particular TELEPOD only once per try. If you wanted to use that character again, it would pull from your “finite stock”.
@AMSlimfordy — Thanks for the answer about the telepods.
How do you still buy permanent use of pork-side characters in bird-side levels (assuming you still can)?
Any idea if the price of permanent characters has increased?
Does your answer about using telepods also apply to permanent characters, i.e., a permanent character can only be used once per try?
@mvnla2
1) Yes, you can still access “Traitor Mode” — but it’s only visible if you have an “opposite swap” available. Enter a Bird Side level and click on the “Swap Egg” button. You should see all of your Bird Swaps available and then the Empire Logo at the end. It still costs 10BC for a single level or 299BC for the entire side (so 598 for the game).
2) Not that this is a proof, but the only record I have is 3500 for Darth Vader in the original release of ABSW2 (v1.0.0). That is the current price as well. So I don’t think prices have changed.
3) If you have a permanent character, you still can accumulate “finite stock”. So the first time you select the character uses up the ∞, then you can continue to pull from the “finite stock” behind it.
3b) Actually, you can (foolishly?) purchase a permanent character twice. In that case, you can use the first ∞, then the second ∞, then “finite stock”. This process can continue in general.
@Lisa — As I said above, I’ve been diligently collecting characters from the Carbonite melts, but I haven’t 3* all of bird-side yet, and close to running out of the most useful characters. I haven’t 3* pork-side either, but only on pass one there (to complete all levels).
Played a few levels and this is great being able to pick your characters. Glad I spent the $5.00 for each telepods they will definitely come in handy.
FYI, was at Target yesterday and they are now in clearance for $2.00 and some change. Looks like all the ABSW telepods and GO Series 1 telepods/games are being place on the sale list.
What bugs me the most is that I cannot play this episode an unlimited number of times (Unless I use permanent swaps – but who can afford more than one character or two at the most??) I hope they come up with some kind of workaround
Some people tend to buy the telepod instead
Good info. Thank you
Very interesting! But right now I’m on vacation, and I left all my Telepods at home. And I have a small amount of swaps, but I guess I’ll have to live with it. And yes, I am happy it’s not Episode III! :D
I’m a little confused about all this:
So Master Your Destiny requires your OWN Telepods and Character Swaps?
@RovioMaster
Yes this bonus episode requires you to use your character swaps or Telepods.
They do not provide any birds in the episode.
BTW you might want to buy a few telepods for this episode.
@chiiyuen0109 There is no provided lineup. You are given a starting number of “characters”, but you choose which character goes in which slot. You must pick these characters from your stock of Swaps or TELEPODs.
@floppymuffin @amslimfordy Thanks for replying. I do have a few Telepods and I bought the “Traitor Mode” for both sides. Still have 5000 Credits prepare to spend on.
@amslimfordy @admins Note that by three-starting you unlock infinite Darth Mauls and Anakin Ep 1.
Oh! Thanks for the tip @spacemaster.
Hate to grouse, but an infinite supply of Anakin I and Darth Maul aren’t much of a reward. I haven’t seen anyone even mention either of these (or any light-saber character) more than once or twice in the two episodes combined.
Why not infinite Darth Vader?
BTW, before anyone jumps on me for being an ingrate. I wouldn’t grouse except for the fact that the permanent characters are prohibitively expensive. I was considering spending some of my very hard earned coins on a permanent Darth, and even maybe spending real cash, but at $50, Rovio has got to be insane.
OK, I take part of my grouse back. Anakin I, the pod racer, turn out to be extremely useful in collecting those coins that are in hard to reach places. Darth Maul, on the other hand, won’t break those logs that protect some of the coins.
Can anyone tell me when you would really like to use Darth Maul instead of another character?
@mvlna2 Darth Maul can be good for levels like PM-9 where large amounts of pieces get piled up and you need to clear them out for a higher score. Other than that, not much else… I already had his Telepod, making this reward a bit useless.
@spacemaster OMG! Thanks for the tip, considering I haven’t got these two Telepods or Infinite Character Swaps.
There is some new fun in this episode, especially being able to pick your own lineup. This is fun! More strategy this way. It does feel like this is an effort to clean out my stock of spare characters so that I can buy new ones to replenish them. Not happening, not spending $$ on more characters, it’s more fun to figure out how to do it with limited characters.
What is working for me is to use up my garbage characters, the useless ones from the Carbonite melts, like jedi youngling. I did spend 200 coins to buy some of the cheapest characters, like the white trooper, to test things out before risking the valuable characters.
The initial achievements were
Coins collected 1: collect 50 coins.
+25 coins
Coins collected 2: collect 200 coins.
+50 coins
Coins collected 3: collect 500 coins
+100 coins
It looks like ABSWII is now permanently free on iTunes.
Look like it giveaway last time, but now it take away.
All my telepod loads are gone this morning. Is there any way to keep them loaded? It’s hard enough to sneak in some gameplay at work without having lug 16 telepods around too.
Ha @dmsral Unfortunately they expire by design.
@dmsral As @sal9 said, it is by design. The purpose is to avoid fraudulent use — such as someone buying TELEPODs, loading them onto their device, and then selling them off.
@sal9, @amslimfordy: Thanks. Oh, and grumble grumble grumble ….
Superb and unexpected news. I just start explore it!
Episode pretty fun overall. Still miffed at the LCS stuff. But I will dutifully polish off all levels with LCS where applicable and continue on with AB Epic until another flinger comes out sans Last Chance Strategy.
I wish they had a battle of Geonosis update, that is a critical part of episode II
I find it ironic that
1. In order to win a level you *have* to look at a lightning bolt, thereby desensitizing hardcore ABN anti-poweruppers to the visual.
2. It is only after you have finished a side that you are given an achievement with enough quality characters to finish the side. Not true, but it feels like it, if you don’t pay for characters. to finish the side. Not true, but it feels like it, if you don’t pay for characters.
I assume this will never be applicable to Nook or Kindle. However, is ABN still tracking those updates as well? I hadn’t seen any in a while, but I use Android for almost everything; so, who knows.
In addition, I like AB Friends for a change of pace, but I usually just play against a couple of people. I always feel bad when I “share,” as I feel like I’m saying to my friends, this is my “higher” score than yours.
Keep up the good work at ABN.
@BirdLady I don’t know whether NOOK is still being supported, but Kindle definitely is!
