Angry Birds Space Red Planet Level 5-23 Walkthrough

Our strategy for Red Planet level 5-23 is to launch Terence towards the northern hemisphere, barely skimming the surface of the top left planet. Terence should roll towards the geyser, which will send him directly onto the tnt box. The resulting explosion should destroy all the pigs.

The key here is to hit the near planet at about 11 o’clock and have Terrance bounce across the geyser, this allows him to be redirected low enough to pick off the two floating pigs and hit the TNT box. Otherwise he ends up going around the north side and missing the lowest pig.

I had better scores using two birds.
First send Terrence horizontal towards the south side of the first planet so that he lands at the very end, just infront of the geyser where he will roll into it’s force. This will cause him to ignite middle tnt, get the pigs and continue north and around the main planet taking out all but the crystal pig with him.. This gets you alot more debris points as he chops up pretty much everything in his path. Here’s a screenshot of the trajectory:

Second, I sent red bird also south, a little lower then where I sent Terrence, which will be the half way mark between the bottom of the first planet and it’s gravitational circle. He will fly around north and land perfectly on the crystal and pig then land infront of the stones and bounce on the tnt which gets you even more debris points. The explosion also helps get some of the remaining debris on the east side that was left over from first shot. Even if the top right pig remained after first shot, the exposion from this shot can get that piglet too. I got several scores between 65K – 68K this way so it’s very repeatable ;-)

The two bird method works best for me too. First bird same as @lesleyg , second bird just to the south of the gravitational circle of the first plant. Red will bounce off lower planet and land on TNT, taking out all remaining pigs and the crystal.

@lesleyg – you found the best strategy! I used a similar strategy to get three stars: the second bird the same as in your strategy, but the first one I was sending through the north side of the planet. It gets the middle TNT more often this way (when sent through the north side), but it hits the structure on the right planet only once, thus making less damage. When sending through the south, it takes more attempts to hit the TNT, but when it works, Terence then hits the structure on the right planet twice giving much higher score. Doing it your way, I improved by 5K immediately.

I followed your strategy and improved by 4000 points, and then I did it again, and my red bird barely got sucked into the atmosphere of the first planet. I was about to hit retry, but I waited, and it went around the second planet, hit the last pig, crystal, AND TNT, and I improved another 3000 points!

@lesleyg — Thanks! Got 69000 with your strat. I play on an iPad. The aim-point for the first bird is as follows: Zoom fully out; on closest planet there is that rock sticking out to the lower left; directly below the outer end of rock is a bright star; to its right and slightly below are a bright star and a dim star, bright star is closer to planet. Aim for the weaker of these 2 stars. Terrence should hit the geyser as AA describes, and take out the TNT and 2 floating pigs. OK if top pig on right planet survives. Second shot as AA describes.

Hi there @lesleyg, that’s a very good strat you’ve provided us all with, thanks to you I was able to increase my old score by 8k+.

I have however, found an easier way to send the second bird.

Launch him so he just barely skims the outer gravitational field of the geyser World, he’ll then continue on to the large Planet, bounce off it and hit the TNT head-on. I think it’s easier this way. Thank You again and Happy Hunting!

Thank you @werewolf69 ;-) I did improve a few hundred points which atleast put me on the improved list with my second bird shot…I tried yours too and it works great but ultimately if I send second shot exactly halfway between the planet and the gravitational field, I pretty much ignite the tnt everytime…it’s the first shot where I need to increase my points. you really need about 43K – 44K on it to end with a higher score…I think I’ll just move along now ;-) Thanks again and nice score ;-)

Same strategy as described by @lesleyg.

A little side note: to break the chain, Red must hit the planet as close as possible to the pile of boulders near the TNT.
Breaking the chain is not guaranteed, but it helps if some boulders start rolling before the TNT exploded.

Here is the final result for the Daily Challenge.

Does anyone know how to break the chain???????? I started working on the challenge as I usually do, without first looking at the walkthroughs. In one of my first attempts, I was able to break the chain between the two planets. Now, I can’t repeat breaking it. I didn’t pay too much attention to how I did it, because (if I recall correctly) the score ended up about 67,000 which was lower than my high score. After playing it again for a while, I realize that getting 67,000 on this one isn’t real easy and I wonder if whatever I did to break the chain was something that could be repeated and used to get a higher score. Anyone know how?

@stocktoad, I haven’t managed to break the chain either but wondered the same thing. It looks like the top score was probably done without it because several players that have these great scores above 70K did it w/o chain.

@stocktoad, on one of my attempts I fudged up the second shot and it went on to break the chain, it’s worth 3000 points, but it didn’t help my score any.

If you read my follow-up strat to lesleyg’s method above, you might increase your score a tad more by doing the second bird my way.
