At long last, Angry Birds Space v1.4.0 has landed! We were the first to report this update over a month ago, and Rovio has heavily teased the release over the past 48 hours or so. Included in Rovio’s tease as a trailer, which you can view on the page just linked.
This is a major update that includes an overwhelming amount of new content, so let’s not waste any time. Pig Dipper is now available for iOS, PC, Mac, and Android via Google Play and the Amazon Appstore.
This update includes:
- 30 space/aquatic levels! Battle those pesky green pigs with a mixture of space/gravity physics and water/buoyancy physics. We warn you in advance that these can be a bit tricky to master, but have patience and keep at it!
- One new Eggsteroid! For now, we will leave its location a mystery, but be sure to keep an eye out and check out our Complete Eggsteroids Guide, which will be updated soon.
- Three new Antenna Egg levels! As expected, there is one for levels 6-1 through 6-10, one for 6-11 through 6-20, and one for 6-21 through 6-30.
- One new Sardine Can level! This is unlocked by obtaining all 30 feathers using the Space Eagle. This walkthrough will take us a bit more time to get to, but please be patient.
- Power Ups! There is far too much to say here, so it will have its own section below.
- Four new iOS achievements!
- Pro Tip! The clams hold pearls, and pearls are valuable. Break open a clam to reveal 3000 points!
- Daily Reward! The daily reward has been slightly tweaked. Instead of receiving a Space Eagle daily, you will receive either one Power Up, one Space Eagle, or five Space Eagles!
Power Ups (iOS/Android only)
As we said above, there is a lot of stuff that needs to be said. Foremost, please do not post any misgivings about Power Ups in this thread. We have a specific thread in the forum that Rovio monitors. Your opinions will be better-heard there.
Next, before we get into the Power Ups themselves, we regret to inform users that the price of the Space Eagle has changed. Prices are now 20 for $1.99, 50 for $4.99, 110 for $9.99, and 225 for $19.99. C’est la vie.
OK, now onto the good stuff. There have been three Power Ups added to Angry Birds Space:
- Flock of Birds — Immediately launches four smaller versions of the current bird from the slingshot, stemming from the original release post and radiating outwards.
- Space Eggs — Act just as they do in the Antenna Egg levels, creating a miniature black hole (small area of extreme low pressure) wherever it is triggered.
- Pig Puffers — Well, they puff pigs, I suppose. Call for this Power Up, and all pigs will inflate. Note that this is particularly effective against underwater pigs.
Now for prices. Purchasing an individual Power Up, you will receive 30 for $1.99, 80 for $4.99, 170 for $9.99, and 400 for $19.99. If you purchase the three in a bundle, you will receive 10 each for $1.99, 30 each for $4.99, 65 each for $9.99, and 140 each for $19.99.
And the best news of all. We are thrilled — nay, ECSTATIC — that scores obtained using Power Ups are distinguished as such! Your scores with Power Ups are only displayed if you have activated Power Ups on your particular try, and are displayed with a lightning bolt icon. Otherwise, playing without Power Ups only displays scores obtained without Power Ups. I know it’s a bit confusing, but check out the video at the top of the post to see more.
That said, please DO NOT enter scores obtained using Power Ups on our leaderboards. Now that there is distinction, we may adjust our leaderboards to eventually include such scores, but for the time being, they are not permitted.

I think that now is the time for 10-level planet. I think so because:
1 planet – 30 levels
2 – 30
3 – 10
4 – 30
(4 planets – 100 levels)
5 – 30
6 – 30
Math shows that 7 planet will have 10 levels :D

Has anyone used the Pig Puffer Power-Up on a level with the Fat Pig, what happened, something interesting, or nothing?!?!?
it doesn’t really change his, maybe a cm bigger, but he doesn’t get huge
It looks like it does nothing to me, I think it just makes his cheeks puffy (as if he’s underwater).

You can’t use power-ups on boss fights.
For both new cutscenes, two new things came:
1st: For the first cutscene, it shows Lazer Bird with the cape AND the tail. This is interesting, for you can’t see the tail with the cape anywhere else.
2nd: For the final cutscene, we see something nobody has probably ever seen in ages: Terence is SMILING!
I notices that too! The interesting part about the first cutscene is that in the zoom shot of Red and
Lazer he’s missing his cape, but right below he has it!
Just finding out that it is not possible to split blue bird directly from launch, takes a sec before you can split in 3 birds

@jos I found this too. I thought that it was my reflexes at first, but then I tested it in ABO and I was able to do it just fine.
This update is magnificent. While I am quite taken with the new water physics which appear to borrow quite a bit from the Piglantis stage in Seasons, I am ECSTATIC (TM @AMslimfordy) with the change in approach to Power-ups :D Brilliant way of providing for all players! Well done Rovio!
Fave level so far is probably 6-10. All dem anchors! O_o
its kinda strange how birds fly both in gravity fields and water… did you see how lava rocks react when they fall in water?
I actually “dipping” the lava meteor on the water. it turned cooldown and didnt explosive anymore (like normal asteroid, you know the grey one)
One thing to note is that you cannot use power ups in boss fights!
Where does this episode’s Score Addict value come from? Rovio? ABN? A random number generator? 2,910,000 seems ridiculously low… it should probably be around 3,250,000.

On levels 6-9 and 6-20 is anybody having trouble getting the Lazer Bird to activate. I have tried rebooting, shutting down and clearing RAM and I still cannot activate the Laser Birds on those levels. Any other things I could try to get them to work would be greatly appreciated. Without being able to activate them it is impossible to 3-star those two levels. Unless, someone has been able to do it without activating them, then how did you do that? Thanks in advance for anybody’s help.
I also experienced it as well. at the level of 6-9 try to play as in the tutorial. at the level of 6-20 do not zoom too big.

The sreen size adjustment worked one time on each level, but then on repeat efforts it no longer worked. It allowed me to 3-star 6-9, but still no luck with 6-20 and now 6-24. Thanks for your help.
at the level of 6-20 do not zoom too big so that the image becomes visible small.
@amslimfordy Have you found any solutions to the laser bird problem described above that I haven’t already tried (rebooted, shut down, reinstall and clearing RAM). I tried wawan’s suggestion and it worked once on both levels, but then did not work on subsequent tries or when I restarted the game. I reported it to Rovio, but wanted to try and finish levels this weekend.

It is in this same conversation above, not a thread. However, there was someone else in this topic that mentioned it and you replied with the reboot. I just thought maybe that you had heard of others having the same issue and might have an idea what else to try. In my opinion, you seem to have a lot of knowledge regarding troubleshooting and I thought you may have some unique advice that I did not see or try. My device is an android version 2.2.1 Optimus V with a 3.2 inch screen. Thank you for responding.
Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s anything I can advise. On level 9, I can only say that it’s a very narrow window of opportunity, but I have no justification for level 20. That’s pretty wide open.
Based on your response, can it only be activated outside the water or planetary atmosphere? That may be something I have not checked because it worked on other levels without any problems, but maybe these levels lead you to trying a water activation. I hope that makes sense. I will try that later today. You may have helped me without even knowing it.
It should be activate-able anywhere, so long as nothing has been touched.
@oldmanbird, i got 3-stars on level 6-9 without ativate laser bird’s ability. just try 6-9 tutorial in this site without ativate laser bird’s ability. maybe you need litle improv.
I have this problem on my PC too, but not just 6-9 and 6-20, it’s the entire game! This mesns I can’t active the Blue Bird, Lazer Bird, also Bomb Bird, Ice Bird, Orange Bird except when they crash. Can someone help me please?
Also, you cannot use them on antenna egg levels (maybe on sardine can level too as well)
The update landed for Mac this morning. Can anyone with a Mac confirm whether Power Ups are included with this update or not? I assume not based on the description I read (and the lack of IAPs so far on Mac).

Has anyone gotten Space Eagles for their daily reward, let alone the ultimate reward of 5 SEs? I think all I’ve gotten is puffer pigs and flock of birds. Useless, since I don’t intend to play with PUs.

@mvnla2 all my Space daily rewards have been puffer pigs except yesterday’s, which was the 5 Eagles. My daily powerups in Rio have been mostly slingscopes, with 1 or 2 of the others only. I’ve been wondering if the daily powerups in these games are going to be like ABO where I have a large imbalance in the 4 rewards… not that it really matters as I don’t use them.
I don’t receive rewards any more in AB Rio. For 5 days now.
My favorite PU is the flock of birds, and I wish I didn’t get space eggs all the time. I can already use them all the time in the bonus levels!

pig dipper physics seemed bit glitchy to me. When i targeted at 1 point, the bird went either bit up or bit down. Does it happen to anyone else?
No glitch there. The birds behave differently in those environments. They deal with gravity then buoyancy.
Also, lasers in general behave a little differently under water (specifically, when traveling from air to water). See Refraction as it pertains to light waves.

Does anyone know how to remove the lightning sign when used a power up? On level 6-9 I used power up to try it and then in the icon of the level there is a sign like a lightning. After that I made better highscore without power ups but the lightening is still there. Anyone know how to remove? Please help…

I’ve — likely — found a glitch. (nice example is 6-29) When a bird hits the rope, the rope emits a breaking wood sound and some splinters from a breaking wood sprite, even thought it doesn’t hit the wood.
@amslimfordy Just for your info, AB Space for PC has gotten updated to v.1.4.0. I think it might be just some fixes.

yeah got the notifi. just now. but what bug did it fix? won’t update it until someone confirm there’s no risk of losing data though i have saved the data file

Our Update Log has been tweaked to display the details of the Bug Fix update.
I downloaded and installed the PC bug fixes but alas I still have the same issues in particular with level 6-29. Laser bird will not fire if you zoom out at all and the game crashes with frustrating regularity. I love a challenge but this is crazy. I’ve reinstalled, repaired, rebooted, freed up as much RAM as I can muster but nothing seems to fix the problems. This is the last level I need to finish up aside from the bonus level and I really would like to see the end of this Pig Dipper. It’s been a mixture of fun and hair pulling frustration.
Maybe your PC is too slow, or your graphics card isn´t working right. I would find out the name of the card, and then download an updated driver.
looks like it is a bug. because when i try to play level 2-10 at cold cuts, sometime i can’t activate laser bird ability.
I have plenty of RAM and all my drivers are up to date. Tis strange because I have bought and played every AB from the beginning and I have never had this issue with any of them and I would have thought that Star Wars would be more of a resource hog than Pig Dipper so I still think it’s buggy LOL.
Sorry if this has already been brought up before, but somehow my power-up bar is on the bottom instead of the top. Is this normal or is there something wrong?

It seems that on IOS devices the PU bar is at the top and on Android it is on the bottom. Which are you using?

It depends on the size of your screen.
I have an Android,and the size of its screen is 3.14″,and the PU bar is at the bottom because if it was on top,it would not fit properly.
If the size of the screen is larger,like on iPad,it would be at top,because it will fit perfectly.
