One strategy for Danger Zone level 22 uses an icy variation of the “bloated bird” technique. Send the Ice bird so it exits the atmosphere and detonates the TNT on the extreme right, but do not trigger its ability. The large asteroids will fall into the gravitational field and destroy the main structure. (Note that triggering the ability would make the asteroids brittle.) If not fortunate enough to detonate the lower TNT via debris, use the Blue bird to do so. The score in the video below is 107,830.

Blew Event: Moonracer – Time To Send The Wreckers In!
If the first bird doesn’t drop debris into the cave, the 2nd bird can still finish it for 3 stars.
definitely can be done with two birds.
@rjohnson_8ball THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!
Top score for the moment. The trick is to freeze the asteroid and ignite the tnt at the same time for a 1-birder.
I’ve managed the 1-birder a few times but never with more than 100k.
yeah 1 shot only, tried 16 times.
Please stop swearing on our site.
Sorry AMslimfordy, but i didnt mean something like swearing on our site, there are some misunderstanding here. If I have got some mistakes, Im very sorry, and I will not post something like that again.
Sorry once more again!
113,500 must have somehow taken out the other mushroom and even more collateral. Hard to see how you get to that score with the strategy in the video…or maybe it’s just one of those levels where total destruction yields a varying amount of points.
I couldn’t get that one birder at all yesterday, so I gave up, thinking it required way too much luck and time! Come back to it today, re-watch video, and presto 110k literally first go on the level today! Thanks for the strat though Slim – if it wasn;t for the fact I’d seen it do it, I probably wouldn’t have come back to it! :)
I have managed to one-shot it once in what must be hundreds of shots-luckily just scraped a 3*. The tip to freeze the asteroid just causes it to break up and not make it to the bottom of the stack and explode the dynamite there in my experience.
Same as video didn’t use the freeze took a lot of tries to get the one birder.. Like hundreds of tries
I got mine like video but am proud to have gotten it without help…I was tempted but finally a little piece of stone flew in the gap and ignited bottom tnt for a one birdie. The only thing I did different was with my first bird. I lined the dots up so that he clips the little snow triangle that sits at the top just past the slingshot and it slows him down just a tad and takes him on the right path and explodes just before making contact with the tnt. His explosion ignites the tnt…pretty cool. Only 310 extra points but they all add up.
Any tips for getting debris into the cave? It seems like the gravitational pull away from the cave is too strong. Anything that gets close is yanked north.
I think its just a matter of luck…its one of those levels you just have to keep doing the same thing over and over til a piece of debris decides it wants to fly in there, lol…the gravitational pull doesn’t make it easy either.
Nope, I must have tried close to 200 tries before I got lucky.
I must admit Space is making me a bit SpaceOut, some levels need a lot of time before you get “lucky”
But i’m so close to the end, I will get there :)
Here’s my video
@E-star is your video link for this DZ 22 still good? It just goes blank when I try to view it. Your other vids for other levels still work good for me. This level is biting me back. I just cant get good destruction with the first bird. Not even worth shooting the second with too much debris blocking the chute. only ~30k more to make DZ Addict. And DZ4 still eludes me.
@abcrazy not sure, might be your connection? I just checked and it started black, but after a second the video started, so maybe it needed to load for a while, not sure… anyone else have this problem?
@e-star sorry, it must’ve been a problem on my end. It’s working for me this morning. Heh, I guess it was late & I was getting impatient.
it is possible to get 3 stars with 2 birds. Follow the video but if the tnt exploded but no debris triggered the tnt, launch the blue bird high in the air then split when it goes down. it is recommended that you break the purple arrow and did lots of structural damage when you launched the ice bird. If the pathway is clear, one or two blue birds will trigger the tnt and clear the level
107810, 2 birds. After thousands (litterally 5 hours non stop) of trying 1 bird, I did 2 tries with 2 birds. 103k, then this one, I am satisfied right now lol
Omg, I had been scoring so well on DZ, that I started (finally) posting my scores. But this & the last episode have put an end to that (scoring not posting). I cannot figure out how a 200 ton boulder can lean against TNT and not have it explode but there you are!!! But here’s my real question – rjohnson & sal both said you could still get 3 stars with 2 birds. Could one of you (or someone) please give some tips on this option? I can’t get by this level no matter what I try…yet. Thanks.
For a 2 bird shot, line up the first bird so the ghost trail lines up exaxtly with the tippy top of the triangular ice block. Bird will explode space tnt without freezing boulders. Biggest boulder will take out most of pile, then the smaller debris will either push boulder down one last tme to slam it into the lower tnt OR it will break the topmost wood so the hollow cement block can slide into the tnt block and explode it. Lob the second bird so it splits and drops into the cave and tnt there takes out everything else.
Did 50 trial runs – 7 of them got a 3-star, with scores from 101k to 105k. Still haven’t got a 1-bird to do a lucky fall, over 2 hours of attempts
I was literally on the verge of coming here and complaining that I couldn’t get that little stone block to fall through the gap, when that little stone block finally fell through the gap. I was beginning to think the one-birder wasn’t in the cards for me. Now I’m happy and one level away from making above average on all Angry Birds levels. Here I come DZ-28.
Score 102,250
Talk about unlucky! After finally getting that little cement block to fall in that gully and finally get what should have been about 107K, I waited and waited for the score to show. Then realized that floating pig above the pointy tower was stuck up against the wall not popped! Arghhh! Back to the drawing board! You can be lucky, and still be unlucky! But I do have 102,250 with two birds. lol
Over 1000 tries and no lucky fall! So I am trying the whine approach.
I know the feeling. I tried and tried to get the one birder but that little stone piece never fell in the gap for me. I settled for a decent score, but not the one I wanted.
It worked! 113k on 10 th try after whining. :)
It has a way of happening that way….
Boy! I can agree with you there! I’d given up for the night, my eye lids were drooping and as I took my last shot I blinked out for a minute or two. When I realized it and jerked myself awake I was at the finish screen. I still didn’t clear average but at least I broke 100K.
I kept trying to get a piece of the cement block in the gap and blow up the tnt but a wooden triangle goes in the gap and blows up the tnt for a 1 birder and 110,390 points!
@amslimfordy Thank you AMslimfordy for the video. It Works Great!!
I have played this level for two days going back and forth between it and Level 21. Had no real success. Stuck at 100K.
I picked up the iPad and was walking to do something, flung the ice bird, set the iPad down and when I picked it up Wow, how did I get that score. In all honestly I did not see it but just about everything was gone on the screen.
All credit goes to AMslimfordy for the strategy.
I wonder if anyone got the 1 birdie on pc version. I did got a one bird, on my friend’s android. But on pc, I tried numerous times and not even any piece of debris looks like, it will go to the second tnt. If anyone can confirm its possible, i’l give it another go.
I play on PC and had a one-birder
thanks, its good to know somebody did. so I’ll keep on trying.
No luck yet.
had it twice actually; one time the little stone square fell for 107k, second time it was the small stone ball for 110k – good luck
Huh… somehow got my high score of 106,700 with 2 birds… I shot it in the same way but I remember that those 4 ice blocks fell after my first shot and popped the mushroom right next to it along with some of the snow. Don’t know how it did but it did.
i’ve tried many times but i cannot seem to 1-bird this!
@angrybirdlover2, You’re not the only one, and this admission of near defeat coming from someone that loves to find and discover 1-Birders.
These levels where you just launch the bird over and over again until you get lucky are the levels I least like. But I do it anyway. In 300 tries, only got the one-birder 2 times and the first time it didn’t hit the mushroom at the top. The second one-birder did get the mushroom so I’m done with this level. Very annoying level.
Took about 200 tries, but finally little square stone fell in to blow up TNT. Had 106k with 2 birds lots of times.
I don’t know how many times I have tried for the one birder……I haven’t got it yet, but while you are trying for it, pay attention and shoot the second bird if you have a high score on the first one. 107,100 isn’t great, but for a two birder, it’s not bad.
Hello @stocktoad, Hey, I’d played this back in July and had my 3 stars, and I had to settle for a 2-Birder just now, but, I’ll have to keep trying for higher if I really want the addict badge.
Hey @werewolf69 How do you get the addict badge? When I got over 3,130,000 in danger zone I thought I would get it automatically or something, but I didn’t get anything.
@stocktoad, I believe there’s a discussion group in the forum just for that purpose.
@stocktoad, send AMslimfordy a screenshot of your total score marquee within the space game and nicely request the badge, as soon as slim gets the message he’ll award it to you.
This one is hard. For the first shot, it takes me 20-30 attempts before I get the desired results, i.e., blowing out the center section of the bridge. Looks simple. Ha-ha. The second shot is harder, much harder. There are two variables that affect the outcome. The first is entry into the lower planet’s gradational field. The second – the one I can’t seem to do consistently, is when to split the blue bird. The bird I need is either doing a face plant into the planet or heading off into the vastness of space.
Woo hoo @Kimmiecv boy was i surprised when i looked here and realized i did it all by myself:)
Now that I’ve seen video and E* video..the only difference i did was clip the to of the little snow bank on my way up to tnt:) I’m getting there!!
Finally, finally, finally got above average… sigh… I think this level qualifies for a new modern disease called RFI, Repetitive Fling Injury.
For me, this is one of those levels where just trying and trying and trying eventually will get you “lucky”. Most of the times the rock just fell down on the structure; if it did fall then it mostly didn’t explode the TNT and in the very rare cases it did explode, I needed BB to finish it. This kind of “luck” shouldn’t be in the game, in my most humble opinion of course :-)
Anyway, time to collect my badge ;-)
Can….not….get…the…1-birdie…or…even…average. So in an attempt to apease the AB gods I’ll offer up some alt strategies that I don’t see in here already. Obviously this is just for the three stars and not big points as both are 2 bird strats.
1. My orginal 3 star strat: First lob ice high to land just above the mushroom, freeze the wood blocks, blow the TNT safe and clear that part of the level. Very easy and repeatable. Second, much trickier/lucky, shoot the BB towards the TNT/asteroid clump & split so 1 bb hits the asteroid TNT, and another slides into the chute to detonate the rest. 100+ and actually requires some skill.
2. First shot like the one-birdie videos and hope the asteroid breaks through to the TNT safe. There really doesnt seem to be superior aim needed for this as long as you hit the TNT/asteroid. If lucky enough to clear that part, second shot is real easy. Aim BB on the same path as ice and split anywhere over the snow pillow just past the ice triangle. One bb will make it into the chute & boom. Usually 100+ to 103+.
May I pleeeeze have my one-birdie now?
One-birder, I think it is just pure luck.
I think that the small metal block has to stick to a piece of wood, so it does not break by hitting the big boulder, or get pulled northwards. It then has to hit the tip of the metal triangle at the edge of the cave, and 111k easily, *sarcasm* all thanks go to @amslimfordy for the strategy:)
think you mean ‘stone’ for metal there, @AngerManagement. Thanks for pointing me at this level thinking I could improve… I can’t! :D
I’m getting at or close to my previous score with 2 birds, so I know there’s more points to be garnered here, but I can’t string the sequence together :(
I personally think it is metal;) Oh, and don’t worry, just keep on trying, @hinarei, try to make it a bit of fun, rather than it seeming like a chore, and it worked:)
trying to get the DZ addict badge did become like a chore, and I mucked up the port of my Space scores from Android to iOS, so I’m really only just getting back into DZ now, @AngerManagement. I am having fun, but each failure mounts up. I hate having to rely on a lucky fall, because I know darn well I’m never going to repeat a score if that happens xD
Alright I have not so much a different strategy but I have specific tips about the way to attack this level. I have tried and tried the bloated bird technique with the best results requiring me to use two birds and an ulcer, and my remaining hair quite a bit grayer. I now believe the top score had the lucky fortune of taking out the first mushroom which is all I had left which would have given me a score of 118650 and the top score..
Here follows is the method. Ice bird just over the sno-cone as close as possible without hitting it. As the icebird approaches the TNT manually detonate so it it DOES freeze the triangle that normally careens off the boulder but DOES NOT freeze the big boulder. This is the key. When I can freeze that triangle only I have about an 80% success rate of exploding the TNT. That does not however generate a 1 bird clear at the same rate but significantly increases the frequency. Since I figured that out I went from 108k to my current score in just under an half hour. The timing of the manual explosion is the difference . If you cause the triangle to travel across intact to hit the orbiting pig you have exploded too soon but you do have the right line so don’t give up.
Additionally I play on an iPad. Just before the TNT there is a mine design in the background. The place to explode is at the edge of this mine that the ice bird crosses closest to the TNT. I hope that was sufficiently clear and helpful for those of you that still have intact devices after attempting this level!
Here’s a screen of what was left from a similar yet oh so tantalizing close shot with a mushroom left.
http://angrybir.de/11oLXlE
@SwellD — Thank you! The tip about freezing the triangle really works. Of course, most of the time the small stone block does not come close to going into the cave (exits the atmosphere anyone?). And I haven’t even been able to get to 105K with 2 birds. However, all the stars aligned perfectly once, giving me 115K!! Hopefully that’s high enough that I don’t ever have to revisit this level.
Great Caesar’s ghost! Once I had grasped your strategy, @swellD, I got that triangle frozen within 5 throws, and got a 1-birder for 115,880! Haven’t entered scores for ABS yet, but finally getting DZ Score Addict may just inspire me to do so. Thank you!!
Congrats @luvtub! Glad it helped!
Thank you for your excellent tips @swelld! I got my first one-birder on this level and increased my score by over 6K!
@Bobmitt –Congrats on top score and your new puppy (Underdog Badge). This level is the challenge of the day, and since you got the top score, you are eligible for the Underdog Badge. However, you need to post a screenshot in your album and explain your strat. Lots of details would be nice, since this level may be one of the most hated in all of AB and is driving a lot of us nuts. Thanks!
@AMSlimfordy — Sorry, didn’t check far enough. Thought this was a new score. Has it been verified, anyway? You can delete all this if you want.
@mvnla2 The score long predates Power Ups, so I think it’s clean.
Observations on a very frustrating level…..
1st If the boulder is not setting off the TNT after repeated tries, turn off Space completely and then turn it back on. Just resetting, or even starting a different Space episode does not seem to work. I have no idea why this is, but (at least on PC) it makes a big difference.
2nd That small square metal or concrete block is the key. It is the trigger for the one birder in both Slim’s video and E-Star’s video. Where that square block is when the TNT goes off seems to be critical. Note in E-Star’s video, the boulder sets off the TNT on the top corner. In Slim’s video the TNT doesn’t go off until the boulder bumps it from the side. The TNT almost never goes off if the small square block hits the boulder. If that is happening to you, that is when you need to do the turning off Space thing.
3rd I have tried every combination of hitting the snow peak and going over the snow peak and it doesn’t seem to make much difference in the end result. Almost all my shots (with the TNT going off) end up almost identical regardless of how the initial shot was made. I can never get the TNT to go off like in E-Star’s video, and I think it is going off just a little later than in Slim’s video. I have no idea how to change that. For me the small square block flies up and lands on the blue peak, (originally covered with snow) not the stone triangle as in the videos. There is very little variation. It always lands on the same place on that peak and bounces to the area between the boulder and the stone triangle.
4th I have not managed a one birder. My 107K score is a two birder. If anyone has any suggestions I would welcome them. I understand repeating over and over to get a better score, and I am not one to complain about the difficulties some seem to have with a PC as opposed to other platforms, but……. Maybe I need the whine factor.
@stocktoad this level has been my 1-bird nemesis since Space came out over a year ago. Your fate is totally determined by a tiny little concrete block, & I’ve decided it’s all about one thing – luck. That little piece of concrete has to still be on top of the right half of the large structure when the TNT blows, & the explosion has to only lift it a bit so it falls down into the gap. Hours & thousands of birds have not shown me any method to get all these things to happen with any reliability. I would agree wholeheartedly with whining.
I finally got my 1-birder this morning, it’s hardly a spectacular score but I’m taking it & running back to Earth. Good luck to you & everyone else! :)
@karen68 I’m still trowing a bird here and there, but waiting for that one in a thousand aberration is really frustrating since the shots all come out so much the same. I’ll be happy when the next challenge comes out and I can forget this one.
I must not have refreshed the page, so I didn’t see the strat of @swelld above when I wrote this. I had tried what swellD said to do, but I really got no different results. Now that I saw it, I tried that approach again. I did sometimes get the square block to land in a different place. Unfortunately, that place was consistently right on top of the boulder. I do think the swellD method is a good one even though I have not yet managed to use it successfully.
@Stocktoad — Is that really you or an impostor? Anyway, for the record, I also took your suggestion and did a hard close of Space on my iPad before I got SwellD’s tips to work.
Hmmmmmmm……..what did I write to make you think there was an impostor? Or is it the avatar?
@Stocktoad — It was the avatar. Have you ever noticed that BirdLeader’s original avatar remains on some of his old posts? No one will know what I was talking about since you changed again.
@mvnla2 I have been changing avatars every day or two lately. No, I never noticed BirdLeaders original avatar. I just had a new member @bullfrog comment that I didn’t look much like a toad, so I needed to revert to something toadlike.
I have exactly the same results as you on the PC version (two PCs infact).
As your 3rd item states it doesn’t seem to matter where\when the TNT explodes, that little stone always lands in the same place.
@stocktoad, same here. Not able to get that little square into the right direction. This despite the video’s of @amslimfordy or @e-star, nor the tips named here. Perhaps a little whining does the last push…
Oops, whining really helps. Yesterday nothing, nope, zero, argh, today, first try and Eureka. Not the little square but a little concrete bullet did the job
