A consistent strategy for Cold Cuts level 2-17 is to send the first Terence into the bottom horizontal stone beam of the left structure. Send the next Terence a little higher to topple the high tower onto the trio of pigs below.

Issue with Angry Birds 2 and windows
Difficult level. I managed it by following the instructions above, but when taking the second shot, you need to aim the green bird to take out the lowest level of glass blocks on the right tower.
102540 using this method.
It does get finicky hitting just the right spot, but I managed 103470 with the instructions given.
I got the best destruction aiming Big Brother as low as possible on the second shot.
It is possible to aim too low on the right tower: If you do a stellar job of destroying the left tower >45K possible, you will have a pretty clear shot at the right tower. You do want to hit the ice blocks or hollow stone squares; hitting lower is likely to leave some of the right pigs. To clear left tower, aim at junction between lowest square block and lowest wood blocks. Slightly below intersection (by pixels) might be even better.
I’m back trying to improve my scores and it was very surreal to take my own advice. :-) It was obviously effective again, too.
Thanks @mvnla2 aiming lower on the first shot definitely helped improve my score and give a clearer path for the second .I still haven’t really got that second shot down pat still most times have that one laughing black-eyed piggie leftover *sigh* not enough for top 100 but best I’ve done so far after trying many different strats I found this most helpful:)
zoom out on this level it makes it slightly easier
Did the same thing as the video above and got 105230. I got lucky I guess.
Just in case someone wants to take Geohohms advice, here’s my video
thanks 107,850 great to watch it all fall.
I think you guys must be playing a different game from me cause it is not possible to get more than 99000.
Impossible is nothing.
I must be missing something. “Impossible is nothing.” is what Peter Vesterbacka said about Lagrangian point achievement. Where did that expression come from?
Muhammad Ali.
Sweet words 5 years and 500,000 birds later. We all know now impossible is just a lack of realization of the art of the possible. @mvnla2
Thanks:
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
Muhammad Ali
I think the “It’s a dare” applies to the centripetal force achievement!
It’s possible, just needs a bit of luck! Keep at it, and I’m sure you’ll get it soon! :)
Is it possible that Angry Birds works differently on different devices. Is it easier to get this done on a Galaxy tab rather than my crappy phone? I’ve been playing this level for HOURS and I’ve tried so many diffent ways. I can exactly replicate the video above but still not acheive the same points score. Therefore I would hypothesise that maybe it calculates things differently cause I’m on a different device.
Angry Birds does not work differently on different platforms. I think you’re on Android and you can see that many Droid players have got great scores too. So keep at it and you can get a better score
Persistence will payoff.
I got my best score by hitting first shot at top left of empty wooden square block at bottom left and for the second shot I also hit the top left of the empty wooden square block just under the empty cement square box…mvnla2 mentions above you can sometimes hit too low and to hit thru the empty cement box or ice to ensure you get all right piglets and he/she is right but it is worth the risk because if you get it right it will land you a thousand or two extra points.
This worked for me. Just wait until you have at least 45k on first bird. The aim second for intersection of bottom of stone blocks and top of wood blocks. Pretty much the same trajectory as first bird.
Not a very high score but made it above average ..following this strat, I was having difficulty, but have faith in my friend AA:) was having trouble aiming second shot…finally was able to zoom out as someone said above and E- Star video of it..got it first shot:) ty all:) don’t know why I have so much trouble zooming out my android. Any tips on that?
If, like me, you were getting tired of leaving behind one pig after the first two shots, it’s possible to get an above-average score using all three birds. I find it easier to get sufficient destruction by sending the birds up at a steeper angle and having them “boomerang” back down, rather than shooting them close to the ground. So, for the first shot, aim so that you come down around the middle of the second “tier” of the first structure and penetrate well into its core; you can get 45k this way. For the second shot, aim for the corner of the stone at the base of the second structure, assuming that not much debris is in the way. You can knock over pretty much the whole thing this way while leaving the three pigs. Instead, nail them on the final shot, hopefully skimming through any leftover debris on the way.
This is the only way I’ve been able to get any points on this level. 45-48k easily and possible 1-birder with luck.
Shoot slightly backwards, or left of vertical. Maybe 5 degrees left of vertical, somewhere around there. You come in on the edge of the usual stone plank, or on top of it and can drive through to the next tower.
After that, ask someone else. I’m lucky to get 90k after shot 2.
126k as a highscore seems way too high. It would mean that he achieved 4k more destruction with one bird than all the others with two. If that was done with two birds I can’t see enough debris left to do it.
Yeah, I’ve flagged that score already. The same user also has some questionable scores on levels 2-14 an 2-26.
orangebird has confirmed his scores.
I guess I’ve to put some more hours in then :-)
i suspect double counting of birds.. :-|
Such a glitch has not been reported in AB:Space.
Ok but why orangebird not sharing strategy
He shared a few of them. Not everyone who participates on the board posts comments.
by the way how do you confirm a score?
Typically by screenshot, though some users require additional attention.
Hey guys, I have been playing around with some of the levels with the super high scores. I shot around on this one yesterday and (very frustratingly) at one point I had a 99K+ score, one bird in the catapult and one aggravating bruised pig blinking back at me (i.e. had he popped I would have had at least a score of 114K on this level!) Here is a screenshot I took of another attempt:
http://home.comcast.net/~goavs4/pwpimages/2_17.PNG
As you can see here, had the pig popped, I had no birds left but the score would have been 106910. So, theoretically, if orangebird did that amount of damage with a single bird he could have obtained the 126K score (106K + 2 birdsX10K). Personally I think that would be extremely difficult as I have tried multiple different angles on the first shot on hundreds of attempts and never collapsed the right tower on the first shot. For a successful level completion, I’ve always used the first bird to destroy as much as possible of the left tower and then went as low as possible on the next shot to try to completely destroy the right tower. Anyway, I really think this level requires 2 birds which means a max score short of 120K is likely. If I obtained the above damage in my screenshot and had one bird left I would have come in around 117K. Just a thought exercise in seeing what is possible, someone completed 2-24 in one shot and are the only ones to do so (as far as I know since they are the only ones above 100K on that level!) if a one shot solution is possible here somehow the 126K score could be legit.
hi goavs4 thanks for checking things out
can you please be specific on how you almost did that score
i mean the first shot do you aim up or direct right and where exacly
and second shot do you aim up or right to the buttom of the tower
please be specific of what you remember i really want to check this one out
thanks in advance (-:
126000 does seem too high for me, considering from the screenshot posted by goavs4 above, destroying everything, EVERYTHING with no birds left is about 108000, so a one birder was pulled off which destroyed everything except a few blocks? Doesn’t seem legit, but of course, impossible is nothing. :) The score of 126000 was pulled off the leader boards though, and now the top is 112000, which is definitely possible.
Don’t send Terence into the horizontal stone beam. Instead, send it into the wooden crate beneath it.40k.
Then slam the next bird into the lowest glass section, roaring just before contact.
101000+ if you do it right.
Just to share my strategy. Two birds.
First to the joint of the stone and open wood square. I try to aim as precisely as possible but always seem to cause a slight twitch on release so it’s never exact. The important part is that I clear most of the left side and critically, leave nothing in front of the left side of the base of the central tower. 43- 46k avg.
Bird two is different than anyone has described but I think the target is the same. I launch leftward of straight up. I use a swirl in the background as a marker of just how far back to to curl. I will note that the backgrounds have changed since the WT vid and @e-star ‘s vids were done. If you zoom all the way. Out you can see a lighter colored “swirl” that is centered over the sling, tapering to a point towards the structures. When zoomed in, the tip of this “swirl” is my yardstick. The target beam crosses this tip about straight up from the sling. The target point is the base of the tower at the horizontal stone plank sitting ontop of the empty stone squares. Terrance rocketed through and killed all three piggies and the debris collapsed on itself.
I nearly reset thinking that I had only gotten 106k not realizing that it hadnt counted the last bird. Whoops!
And I’m happy with the 106K :-)
well I would have been happy with that too but I already had ~107k or so at that point ;-)
I could never quite find the swirl, but using the leftward launch I was able to slice through the two hollow wooden squares and attain a decent score. Innovative strategy @swellD. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing your alternate 2nd bird shot, @swelld!! The swirl didn’t seem to match up, but it didn’t take too long (or, more likely, luck) to land Terrance on that horizontal stone plank just right.
@rubeeinthesky my swirl does not line up either can you remember how you made that second shot? I am trying to go straight up so Terence curls a bit but i always have that one little bruised pig left stubborn little bacon bit!!
Hi @Kathy, I just kept adjusting my shot until I got the desired outcome. I believe that this was another lucky shot. I’m sorry, not much help again. :(
. Thanks @rubeeinthesky I appreciate the reply:) I’ll keep at it need some luck I guess:/
Great score @swelld can’t wait to try it. Thanks for sharing!
This level annoys the crap out of me. ~10 blocks and a bird left and I can’t even break 95k. /endwhine/
@kelani same here but I’ve gotten a bit closer..looks like your whine helped so here is mine ..* Whiinnee*
Top score proof (actually, double top score proof in a single pic): https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/members/sglouk/album/picture/16829/
I wasted several hours by performing a high second shot through wooden square block of 2nd tower. Terrence passes easily through tower and gets rid of pig pile to the right, however, the tower base is never significantly damaged by infalling upper part of tower, so that score above 110k are rare, and even exceedingly rare above 112k.
Then, I read more carefully @swelld‘s comment, are realized that he was recommending to aim at stone base of tower, which seemed to me a priori impossible to destroy in this way. I tried, however, and quickly realized that indeed the base of tower was far more brittle than I expected. The hard part for this 2nd shot is aiming. However, if you play on a computer, you will easily use the moonrock below sling as an aiming device since your mouse pointer will be above it (I noted carefully where the “wrist” of the pointer shoud be positionned with respect to some background craters for both shots, allowing a close to perfect repeatability).
Terrence very easily completely collapses 2nd tower once you have found the appropriate aiming point. The annoying part of the story is that perfect vertical crumbling of tower is fairly common, leaving you with a frustrating 90k+ score, and 3 surviving pigs + 1 extra bird, i.e., a score that would have been in the 115k range should something had been sent to the right of the tower. Another, less common, possibility is a tumbling of the tower, which then inefficiently collapses, but gets rids of the pigs, for a score around 113k.
And then, from time to time (once every two hours, I would say, provided you aim well every time), you get the magic combination of a perfect crumble of tower plus something (usually the drawbridge-like wooden part) that takes care of the pigs. This gives you scores above 115k. I was not recording my 117450 top score run (which I obtained in two hours once my aiming point for 2nd shot was settled, together two 113k scores), but spent two hours more to get another almost perfect shot, above @swelld‘s previous top score:
https://youtu.be/RWyZ6nGK3TM
My recollection of my top score shot is that I had 43.5k after 1st shot, with 5 parts from the first tower remaining (plus one part from 2nd tower after 2nd shot), which clearly leaves the possibiliy of an extra 2 or 3k improvement for dedicated flingers who would reset if 1st shot is not perfect, i.e. at 46k or above (but train well for 2nd in any case, as it is not easy).
many many many thx to @sglouk for cool details
and great video
also thx to @swelld and @e-star for details and inspiration
first bird hit the long stone and wood-square, 45k.
second bird hit the long stone, stone hit the long wood and kill all 3 pigs.
same as in the video from @sglouk
@sweetp
http://www.imgbox.de/users/comex666/Angry_Birds_Space_Cold_Cuts_Level_2_17.png
119870 with two birds.
Thanks to @sglouk for the detailed strategy.
For my score, the second bird went through the structure to kill the 3 pigs on the right. So I guess that I aimed little higher than explained.
Here is the final result .
And this is highscore screenshot.
All the screenshots are also available in high res here in one set.
@sweetp
Hey @asher,great shooting once again. I’m gonna have to join the bluestacks gang and go hi tech at some point to beat you. Anyways noticed that your b2 was a little straighter than @sglouk and it managed to get across to the 3 little pigs did he crash thru the wood or were you still aiming at the hollow concrete blocks?(thanks for the screenshot of trajectory BTW.)
@briann : it was fast but the bird did kind of skim on the concrete block while going through the wood blocks.
I managed it only twice in too many hours ;-)
Thanks, I did see that happen once but not with demolition of lower blocks. Will give it a further go at some point. Felt less frustrating than @sglouk‘s method. I could never get any debris to fly across and destroy the 3 pigs.
