Seriously? I have to use powerups? Can I unlock these things some other way?
@Graypets You don’t have to use Power Ups to unlock these. Where did you get that?
I figured it out. I didn’t know there was a special place where you “try them” that isn’t part of the game and doesn’t affect your scores. I tried them and got all of my objectives done. :-) All good now.
@graypets – Where is this “special place” to use them so they don’t count with your score? I have just started and one of my first set of daily missions is to “try all power-ups”? Please help as I don’t want to have power-ups attached to my scores!
Thank you in advance ;-)
@lesleyg under the mission “try all power ups” is a green arrow – click on that & it will take you to where you can try them out without having them show in your scores. Swipe from page to page for each one.
And they are separate, self-contained levels. I was so relieved!
Thank you sooooo much @karen68 ;-) you always come to my rescue!!! It worked…but I believe I actually had to get all the piglets for it to count? For example when I got to “Wingman” I just threw him and didn’t pop all the pigs and I checked back to see if the mission was marked complete and it wasn’t…not until I went back and re-played it getting all the pigs, that it counted…weird. This is gonna take some getting used to I see! Thanks again!!!
@lesleyg you’re welcome! I had no idea what to do with the Wingman either. At least it’s just for those trial levels, then we can leave the powerups alone :)
Thanks again @karen68 and also thank you to @graypets for your reply and your original post…I knew I couldn’t be the only one concerned about it! Before I saw this…I clicked on one of three power-ups showing at the bottom left of my play area and threw the bird backwards so the power-up score wouldn’t count…I repeated this for bird number two but then it wouldn’t let me throw the third one so I reset and threw him backwards too, hahaha ;-)))No go!
@karen68 @leleyg what’s with this powerups? Do I really have to use/test them, or can I continue playing. Just start with this Space game.
Current top score – first bird similar to the video, splitting a bit later so that birdlets take out both the right hand pigs, with other damage as well. Second bird also similar to the video. Throw in a large dollop of luck and ta-ra…
Hello @bikkit, nice score! I’m wondering if you might be able to offer a little more detail on your first shot? How much is “a bit later”?
Thanks @rubeeinthesky , please note the “large dollop of luck” bit of my previous posting.
Anyway, I’ve just reflung to refresh my memory and hope this helps.
Aim the bluebird directly at the top of the steam spout. In my screen that spout sits slightly right-of-centre on a stone block, split the bird when over the left edge of that block. Two birdlets should fly off and take out the rightmost pigs, by the pink twirling thing that gives me a headache but makes me want to shrink headfirst into the screen and warp off to a new dimension.
Or it might just be a pink twirly thing…
@bikkit I got your first shot down pretty good how did you fling the secon while still getting that top piggie in the glass?
@Kathy it’s a week or so ago now and my memory isn’t what it could be nowadays, but I’m pretty sure the piggy in the glass was removed on the first shot.
Thanks @bikkit That little piggie giving me fits!! soooo close:(
ahhh 8 got it now @bikkit When you say the “top” you mean the bottom of the steam vent ;) it all comes clearly now.. I’ll have to look at previous strats i followed you on and rere-think them lol!!
@Kathy sorry to have caused confusion! Top, bottom – as Albert E said, it’s all relative. (And/or as my mother said at a recent family wedding, they’re all relatives)
I did like the video, but reversed the shot order. I also aimed the shot to the contraption in front of the sling a bit higher, so the birdlets would get more of a hook from the steam jet. Basically, aim right at the little satellite dish, and split once they hit the steam.
@kelani nice strat, but what score did you achieve?
@hunnybunny Oops, it didn’t post for some reason. Now that it has, I think maybe that wasn’t such a nice strat after all. :)
Yes, @Kelani, this is a better strategy! Thanks!!
My apologies to @bikkit for taking his top score, but I’m starting my second pass at Brass Hogs. Hopefully I’ll be posting some helpful stRATegies along the way. My stRAT for this level has lots of points yet to be accrued. Scores in the low 70’s are possible. Enjoy.
1st shot: Aim the Blues halfway between the two large structures. Activate as you pass the left leg of the lander. The upper blue will rip a finger from the arm of the floating station and continue to the upper pig in box. Timed correctly this finger will kill the pig between the two air jets. This is important as it clears the path for the second shot. The middle blue will kill the upper pig on the far right. The lower blue will gain speed from the air jet and assist the upper blue with the pig in a box.
2nd shot: I’m not happy with the second shot yet but it works for now and is repeatable. Aim the blues slightly above horizontal placing the guide lines on the upper portion of the concrete slab just below the large ice block. Activate late. the upper blue will go above the slab, kill the pig, and continue slowly through the air jets without being affected by them. He will eventually land on top of the lower far right pig. While you wait for the painfully slow upper blue, the lower blues will be bouncing off the debris that it pushed into the air jets. More points.
I may have top score at the moment but be assured I will not be offended as many flingers pass me with this stRAT. As Arnold said “I’ll be back”.
cc: @Mvnla2
Sorry for the wait. I haven’t been flingin’ much.
@rat9 I’m assuming Lander is the one on the ground?
Yep’ers Ma.
ty Pa:)
@Rat9 Sorry for leapfrogging you by a few lousy points – your walkthrough made me curious. And I’m sure you will be back.
@burpie I came back. Your turn again. I still say 75k is possible but I can’t connect two good shots.
@burpie ???? so I’m wondering about your second shot ? did you follow the ratStrat ? since i had second place and am now in what 6th 7th? maybe a hint?
@Kathy If I remember correctly, I shot it at full strength with a bit of an arc – not as flat as @Rat9 seems to suggest. Then trigger so that the top Blue Bird travels through the glass toward the last pig and let the other two Blue Birds go where they may.
@burpie Just for the record, I’m not suggesting your aim line should be flat. Quite the opposite. Reduce power so that you have an arc as you line up on the concrete slab.
Hi
Sorry to butt in on the conversation and I’m sure it’s very old now. I can’t get past BRASS HOGS 4th planet (to play7/9). I’ve three starred the first 4, and can’t get Mirror World to open up. Anybody have any guidelines for me?
many thx to @rat9 i used similar this strat
here a video with 69k:

Hi @rat9! Thank you for posting your strategy. I think I’ve got your first shot down, but I’m lost on the second shot. Can you elaborate a bit more on “the upper portion of the concrete slab just below the large ice block,” please? I’m assuming that this is referring to the floaty, ice and concrete contraption in the middle (the one that lost a finger in the first shot)?
Hi @rubeeinthesky. The walkthrough video shows my shot about a half second before release. Aim higher to hit lower. Then activate as you pass through the jet. The middle and lower blue will hit concrete while the top blue hits nothing but glass and pig. Then, as in the video, it travels on to take out the remaining right side pig. The advantage of this over the walkthrough video shot is that it pushes the lower half of the floater into the gas jets for extra points.
Top score proof in case necessary:

I found a sweet spot that almost completely destroys upper right spacecraft/glass ball, for a total of 23k, possibly more after 1st shot (popping central bubble with big pig).
I was still trying to understand the meaning of other flinger’s description of 2nd shot, when I made a successful one, by chance, rather than skill. I do not even remember where/how I aimed, apart that it was full power, but my impression is that most of the score came from a very successful 1st shot.
