We have known since the calendar turned to 2012 that the next episode of Angry Birds Seasons would revolve around Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon. Rovio was very non-discrete about this, announcing it in their “Happy New Year” video (click to see our original “Coming Soon” post). While there are still questions about which level update will land next (feel free to take our poll), Rovio has just released the official “Year of the Dragon” teaser video, seen below.
Now, let us note the two most important things. First, it appears that the episode will indeed be called “Year of the Dragon”. And second, and most importantly, the update will be landing on January 20, so keep your eyes peeled! A quick disclaimer: We are not responsible if the update does not land on your particular device on the 20th.

I hope this update as 30 levels + 3 to unlock and maybe even a few lanterns hidden in a few levels just like “Moon Festival” has.
I think it’s just me but I miss the animated mini cut scenes during the 1st & last level of the new updates. I guess they just want to make more room and use small picture files then video.

The golden eggs are going to be ” golden fish ” with the Year Of The Dragon Update.

It will come to all platforms, but which ones specifically on the 20th is not known.
Slim,I know iOs and android will come first,because everytime there is an update,iOs gets it first thing in the morning(Jakarta time),and then at night(23:00 Western Indonesia Time) the update arrives for android,happens all the time,wreck the halls,Ham o ween.
I’m not gonna make predictions. I would say that hopefully it lands on all 5 majors platforms on the 20th: iOS, Android (Amazon & Market), Nokia, Mac, and PC.

Regarding the 20th… That date surprised me. My 2 cents is that they are releasing it 3 days prior to the 23rd (Chinese New Year) so that all platforms have it in time for the 23rd… It is my understanding from questions posted on this site like “when is the Symbian version coming out?,” that certain platforms have a lag. A 20th release will ensure more platforms have it by the 23rd.

Well, On PC you can go thorugh the images of the game but IDK about iOS and Android.
You can do it on iPhone, but you might find some of the files are different, and many of them are encrypted.

It would be cool if they made a ABS chapter called (AB fan nation or something like that). Have an open contest where we the fan design/draw an AB level and the best 30 get created by the Rovio team and released into a future ABS update “Fan nation”. Maybe someday…

Sorry, the badge is only for players who got the feather prior to the Ham’O’Ween update.

You could see your badges by clicking your username and visiting your profile. The badge was only given to users who provided screenshots showing their proof before the day the update was released.
How did you know about the badges?
Nobody told me to send a screenshot in order to receive a badge. How did you know?
The badges weren’t available when there was the feather problem, but some users on here provided the evidence before the update came out. Unfortunately, this badge is no longer available to anyone new, as there is no way of proving when you obtained it
For example, Andreas189. . He has the badge in his profile because his avatar is the total destruction of 1-16.
Sorry, but we can not award anyone that badge these days because there is no way to show proof that you got the feather prior to the update
Strange. Before the update, nobody asked for screenshots. And after the update, screenshots are useless.
And I wonder why people sent screenshots to ABN at a time when badges not yet existed. What for? That’s not logic.
There was a huge discussion about it at the time, on the video walkthrough page, in it’s own dedicated forum post, and even had a Hall of Fame.

@ Tnatiuk17piano this is not correct, i have the badge because i was the first one who got total destruction on 1-16, and posted a screenshot to ABN! i just took the screenshot and used it as my avatar because i am very proud of it! but i didnt get my badge because of my avatar!

i uploaded a “different” picture with a screenshot on my ipod, if you look at the two pics , Laurence’s photo is on an iphone and mine is on my ipod. you can tell by looking at the top, so i put my own picture on the angry birds wiki

My game center icon change for ABS today to the picture above is that normal. I never had this happen before and I use a Ipod touch to play all the AB.
Yeah, that sometimes happens shortly before an update to the game, as Rovio have to let Apple know in advance of an update I believe, before they can submit the update to the appstore. In many cases it is confirmed a couple of days before an update, so normally provides the first indication that an update is coming :)
