There are likely many ways to 3-star Year of the Dragon level 1-9, but this one is as good as any. Aim Big Brother so he takes out the first three pigs and slides in to blow up the TNT. Now fling the White bird and drop the egg bomb right over the wood triangles holding up the tall tower, hopefully destroying the small pig wearing the rice patty hat down below. That should just leave the a couple pigs on the far right side that you can finish with one of the two remaining Yellow birds. The score in the video below is 103,310.

Normally if I have the same methode, I wouldn’t post my video, but YEAHHHH!!! My iPad 2 is jailbreaked! Now I can use Display recorder and make video’s on my own iPad!

This is my first video on my own iPad, so happy!! For the viewer nothing has changed, but for me it means I can multitask… iPad 1 has no memory for multitasking besides AB.

Thanks all for the kind words, it makes it all worth while. I revisited some seasons levels and I got a 2 birdie with the same strat. WB got lucky and took everything down, I got 119320 now.

Finish the level off with 2 birds but didn’t get enough collateral damage to get a very high score; came up almost 6000 below the average. I need to find a way to break some more lumber.

Went from 105710 to 119170 with 2 birds and better slinging. Essentially used the method in the video only cleared the level with the 2nd shot.

Basically Slim’s method can earn an appreciable score. Needs just one note about the first shot, which should be perfectly horizontal in order to sweep the 3 pigs on the left nicely. Got 117k in two tries.

I agree on using the ABN video for this level. I used three birds and had one bonus. The first yellow bird destroyed everything on the right and activated the tnt box. I was unable to get the stones to move on the right side. Hit the little stone holding them back with the yellow bird and all it did was crack the little stone. Noticed a couple of times that the wood planks would lift the little stone but it was not enough to get the big stones to fall.

My claim to fame is that I figured I-9 out before looking at the walkthrough! My wife keeps wondering why I’m so obsessive about Angry Birds since all other games leave me cold. I’m not really sure but at least I know I’m not alone! Plus, on my last airline flight I chatted with the young man behind me who saw me Angry Birding on my iPad. He’d never heard of AngryBirdNest so I informed him

Wow, I thought that my second time around with YOTD would be easier, but it has turned out to be the exact opposite. With the exception of level 8, all the others have given me a major headache just trying to bring them up to average or a little bit above.

Per video, except an extremely lucky 2-birder for 121710 when the far rightmost piggie rolled slightly left & died, which was an improvement of just under 8k on Android phone during today’s Challenge.

Bird 1 – 45-48K
Bird 2 – 75-79K
Birds 3&4 – Garbage
They NEVER slice through all the wood but get hung up half way on the cement.
They NEVER use that cement to push the structure into the small piece holding the boulders so they fall onto the TNT.
Oh yeah, Bird 2 NEVER finishes the job.
I haven’t come up with an alternative but am hoping someone does during Challenge. 109k isn’t cutting it for me. Good luck all!

After 100’s of tosses, most in the 100-110K range with a single prior high at 120K, finally scored a +125K with 3-birds. 1st & 2nd birds as in the video except the small right tower stayed vertical and did not tip over to the right. Using a medium high arc, the 3rd bird grazed across the TOP of the horizontal stone to the left of the right tower and broke the small stone block causing all 3 boulders to fall into the gap between the tower and wall detonating the TNT. (Of interest ~ I notice that most of the higher scores in the Challenge are on the iPhone or iPad platforms with currently only the 126,830 by comex666 and one other than my Top 50 score by ffodor being on a PC).

Got a lucky 2-birder with the 1st 2 birds like the video. Getting the white bird to ricochet into the vertical stone block pushes the whole thing over & I got a lucky collapse of everything for 126k. The screen panned back left before I could grab a screenshot of the destruction.
I tried everything to try & get those boulders to drop with no luck. Couldn’t get the YB to break the small stone holding them back on its own, I don’t think it’s strong enough. I tried using the fireworks to help but they are so unpredictable, I was able to break the stone a couple of times but the boulders only shifted a bit.

Good flinging @karen68! I’ve increased my score by 6k on this challenge so far and just got a 2 bird finish same as you describe. I only got 121k but it was a nice surprise for me.
This one has been fun to revisit. I like the YOTD levels.

I find that persistance is the key to many of the levels. I have not been able to clear this level using less than three birds but I’m happy with the score following @e-star ‘s videos.

Maybe this is easier now? In any case I had 131k/2 for 4th place very quickly by following @e-star ‘s 3rd video. Many thanks for that. Didn’t record that effort sadly but I gave it just 3 more tries and got 128k/2. Here’s the

Improved to 132k/2. Same as my video. First bird is easy. The second is just pure luck. You either get the 2 bird or you don’t and if you do there’s no guarantee of any sort of high score. For you BlueStackers out there 1. x 18.48 y 54.1 the score is anything up to 50k+. 2. x 18.34 y 58.57. Drop the egg and get lucky!
