Yet another β2-ferβ strategy is used for Ragnahog level 12; check out the video below.
Little Red – Big Throw! Send him high to the roof of the hut above, blowing the stove and starting off a chain reaction that nearly clears the level. All that remains is a high lob of Matilda, dropping the egg in the gap and propelling her not-a-carcass into the upper right hut, finishing off the level for an even 138000.
Another 2-fer where sometimes it’s a 1-fer with the same first shot as in the video.
Is anyone else having problems viewing the video? Don’t know what strategy they used, so since I’ve got a pretty good score I’ll post mine. Red over the top, hit right horn and fall on stove. That’s it. Easily repeatable, but damage is the whole shebang on this level. GL
@waimea The video isn’t loading for me either, but it is a 2 bird strategy anyway and the high scores will be one birders.
Congrats on your amazing score!
Thanks @triggerfish for confirming it’s not my annoying computer. And the score came as a bit of a surprise. I’m not quite sure where all the points that were tallying at the end came from. Maybe the pit, but I know the snowy trees were all knocked down.
Video not loading for me either @waimea
I got a one birder 154k with my 2nd attempt at playing the level before coming here! How very underwhelming! At least my 4yr old buddy will be happy!
@andy-2 I figured you’d love this! I kinda like 1-birders, though eventually the mind-numbing repetition hoping for fortuitous destruction gets old. At my current 149 I’ve obviously not numbed my mind enough.
The video is working for me. And even so, there’s a great description above it that tells the story.
@captrec My high score was a 1-Birder but I have had a 2-Birder for 162k also. Had 116k after Red with the 3 lower trees intact so bombed with Matilda.
And 1-Birders are ok in moderation. There just seems to be one available every other round right now where you can get 3 stars or even worst the highest available score each time! Where’s the challenge in that?
@waimea Is the video still not working for you?
it works o.k for me ,would you mind checking it?
@kathy It’s working for me now.
Thanks @triggerfish ?
@kathy, Sorry for the late reply, different time zones here in coconut land. Yes, it started working about an hour after the level opened. Thanks.
np @waimea I hate timezones!! I’m just happy the video worked for you!
Congratulations on the great score!!??
163360/2 with that after 120k after the 1st. sometimes played all birds, and got 157k with that.
This is a fairly entertaining level, with its explosions, icicles and chain reactions. But the best part by far is when Mrs. Thor loses her hammer, slides to the right and then suddenly changes direction, launching herself back up the hill and into the pit of doom. It seems some of the mojo from the original Angry Birds Halloween has somehow seeped into her soul, giving us yet another fun lesson in Angry Birds Physics. Aloha.
Aloha and apologies to anyone who took time to read the above post. I’m sure you all were thinking, That’s real nice, Surfcow, but that wasn’t funny. Are you okay? No worries, I’m fine, thanks for asking. In my sleepless stupor, due to working the graveyard shift, I forgot to include the requisite LOL. So here goes: Why did Mrs. Thor throw herself into the pit after losing the hammer? Because she’s a Thor loser. Aloha and thanks for reading.
I have been pondering why you think the hammer pig is female. I expect it is because it is wearing eye protection. Males would tend to exhibit rather more risk taking behaviour. However, the Vikings were not known for their respect for women and I doubt that there were equal opportunities in the job market. Viking womenfolk were probably stuck at home in the longhouse baking bread.
@surfcow it’s always wonderful to see you & have my morning giggle reading your comments.
It’s actually one of the icicles that sends her flying, she knocks it down, bumps ito it & goes sailing back to the left into the pit. But your Thor loser explanation is much more interesting :)
My sides are aching from laughter @surfcow?
Nice to have you back @surfcow ?
Still Roflmao ,,hee hee Thor loser hee hee?
@triggerfish I thought it was a ‘she’ also, because of the pink gogglesΒΏ
Hi @kathy, I guessed that might be the reason for @surfcow‘s assumption but I was trying to be tongue in cheek! Vikings probably didn’t wear ski goggles anway…
Thorry if I caused any confusion ; )
Same as video. 2 birds. 139k
Since the tactic shown in the video would not work for me at all I eventually switched to dropping L’il Red on the right horn at the top. If he drops straight down on the horn he will then fall on the stove. Now, I think this pretty much takes out the 1 birder, but I’ll have to settle for almost average on this one (again).
After several hundred hits on the end of that horizontal board with L’il Red just bouncing off, I went back to the video. I noticed my red bird is – noticeably – slower than @bernersenn. So the video tactic will never work for me. I’ve seen this on a couple of other levels too. Makes me a little more creative!
I also.I have discovered that I get much better results on my Galazy 7 then on my old ipad mini, its a faster processor ,,,hence faster is better. In AB
You know, I never thought of that. I’m on a Galaxy Tab s2 so not like ancient, but I think I’ll give it a shot on the S7. If nothing else just to see L’il Reds speed difference side by side.
Thanks!
NP..
@78rpm great strategy thanks! The video walkthrough didn’t work for me, only 146K, but with your strategy I finally got above average with a score of 152K.
164860 with 2 birds (for now).
First Red to the top as in the video, but the pig in the trees at the bottom was still alive, so Matilda to finish it.
Here is the final result.
Less than 15 minutes in the level so maybe more to come.
167390 still with 2 birds and the same strategy.
Counting trees and icicles there is much more than 10k down there.
First for those wondering where to aim the first bird, here is a screenshot of Red trajectory just before hitting the plank.
Then the final 147k result after Matilda.
And the highscore screenshot.
And that’s another thwarted one-birder, so it goes in the good day column ;-)
Hope it helps.
@asher I’m not understanding your screenshot , you had a highscore of 148k plus With 2 birds left, yet your score at that time was only 164k ??
I’m confusedΒΏ shouldn’t your score have been 168k . not sre where this will end up, I’m asking about your first screenshotΒΏ
@kathy The 148k is previous high score?
‘duh’ lol thanks @andy-2 , i get it, my excuse..it was late, i was tired ,shouldn’t try to figure things out while half asleep!
good news i finally got a decent score in my half asleep state?
I’d guessed that may of been the case @kathy. Why I went easy on you & just asked the question………DOH !
i miss dahlia, willow, poppy, luca and gale in angry birds pop. I want them back
Did no one notice the golden egg here? It was behind hammer pig
One bird, like the video. Had to hit the top left corner of the horizontal wood plank. Lady Luck for the rest and the trees below.
Am I just being a cry baby or has this level gotten harder? Have a decent 157k 2 birder but not getting close to 160k.The set up looks exactly the same comparing current version with walk through video. If anyone has broken 160k recently be good to know.
Nah, turns out it’s just me being a cry baby. Like to think my mini whine did the trick. But more likely it was changing tack.
Had been banging red’s head off that upper horizontal plank for hour after hour, it was only when I gave @waimea ‘lob red over the roof, through the horn, onto the stove’ strat a consistent go that things improved. It more often brought both upper levels down. Thanks @waimea.
Probably stating the obvious here I think the difference between a good 150k shot and a very good 160k shot is how deep into the ‘pit of rune’ the stuff from above gets.
154480/1
Same as the video but with one bird. I will add that it took about 20 throws to get the stove to explode and many more times to get a one bird clear.
