The best strategy for Mooncake Festival level 2-1 is to launch Big Brother into the top of the main structure. Debris should fall to the right and clear a majority of the level. Lob the Boomerang bird, and the Yellow bird if necessary, into the rubble of the main structure to clear the rest of the pigs. The score in the video below is 81,290.

104270 – 1st shot the same as the video, 2nd shot at a much lower angle coming in almost horizontal to the last remaining pig and took out a lot more of the structure. I had to do a double-take when I saw the score!! :)

I think a two-birder is a more reliable high-scoring strategy here. I ended up placing the shots almost exactly the same as the video did. On the first shot, there’s a sweet spot where he will continue forward rather than fall straight down, thereby taking out most of the debris on the right side. And on the second shot, the video’s placement really is important – go for the gap just to the left of the pig. Ideally, you’d want to come straight down without having to activate the bird, but it’s probably safer to shoot a little long after a really good first shot rather than risk coming in a bit short and missing the pig altogether. You can take out a lot of wood on this shot! It’s loosely packed and slightly damaged, the perfect combination for a vertical shot to do maximum damage.

There’s an occasional 1-Birder in this episode that I got twice, and it was the second time when it paid off for me, just lob your Big Brother so he just clears the top of the mountain, that’s when the miraculous usually happens and everything falls apart.

I couldn’t manage a good 2-birder, but the 1-birder finally got me a good score, almost 97k.

This level a real pain. I found that if you can get Big brother to just clear the edge of the mountain (similiar to what WereWolf 69 said, but not a big arc – just a little lower than the video) and get in the neighborhood of 60-65K, you have a chance for a good score. Usually, I had one of two little piggies left (either the one all the way on the right or the one in the middle). With the boomerang bird, you then need to take out the last pig and a bunch of wood. Had some decent 3 bird scores, but I agree that 2 bird definitely scores higher.

I lost my score with the crash back in 2011, so I do not know for sure.. but I think my score of 99k was a 2 birdie. I never recorded the play back then. But I tried to capture a new one. Unfortunately I didn’t get over 96k, but I think it will do. @austinrhl I also think there is so much wood, it can not be taken out by just the Big Red.

I send Big red like many others to the left side of the structure. But make sure the far right pig is taken out if you are attempting a high score. I had only one pig left. I send the Boomerang bird with a medium arc and reversed it right on time to take out as much wood as possible and kill the last pig.

A big thank you to @e-star for posting the video and the strategy. I was stuck with a below average score and then hit the one-bird solution a number of times. Obtained scores from 82K+ to 95K+ with the one bird.

Tried e-star’s method and went up to 97k with two birds. Used the 3Ps (patience, persistence and practice) and then obtained 98k with the two birds.

Then something different happened with the results of the two birds. Big Brother hit the sweet spot and most of the wood moved to the right, was destroyed by BB and feel on itself destroying even more wood and all the pigs except one, the most left small pig. The only wood structure that remained was vertical-like on the left side a little above the pig and below. Arc the Boomerang Bird over the left structure and activate it so it came in low to destroy most of the wood, the pig and falling wood did the rest.

aiming tip: zoom in and use the two top feathers of Big Brother against the dark purple edge of the hill in the background. Very slight variations on the placement of the edge between the feathers seemed to work best for a consistent landing point for better destruction.
