Angry Birds Seasons Arctic Eggspedition level 1-2 was first available on Monday, December 2nd, 2013. Fling the Yellow bird underwater at a slight angle, triggering the speed boost to take out the right leg of the first structure. Then send the Pink bird towards the boulders, and trigger the bubbles upon impact. The score in the video below is 76,450.

Can’t find a golden egg
I went high with the yellow bird and sped him down quickly behind the Christmas tree breaking the wood. Seemed to get more points that way. And then flung pink to the boulders. I was able to grab 3 large boulders and have them roll off the edge in to the water for a few more points.
Tried this and worked to the tune of 86K.
Thanks for the alternative.
That’s how I did obtain my best score also.
@sandjoy — Did you send the YB to the left or right of the Christmas tree? I can’t even replicate my current high. Help! Please!
Went back to the video strat and improved 500 pts to 78920.
Oops! Should have said 89600
@mvnla2 I sent YB right of the Christmas tree to get my current score of 88K. Often the pig next to the boulders moves a little bit to the left, so is should be easier to grab the boulders. I managed to grab them all a few times, but only one or two went down the slope. PB with her bouncing capacities is a difficult bird for me. I’ll keep trying to improve with other strategies.
Same technique here too … I am really happy that Rovio did not drop the Seasons Advent Calendar for Christmas as it is always something I look forward to :o)
I agree @habanero
The key to this level, I think, lies in the second shot. If you manage to pick up most of the boulders and have them roll down, that will yield some precious extra points.
Same as @josephine underwater with YB and then attempted rock lift with Stella. Many more points available if
1 the rocks NEED to have moved towards the water before you pick them up with Stella
2 or Stella bounces a hair backwards THEN she picks up rocks. That seems to me IMHO the only way to get rocks backwards to water.
@mvlna2 using the underwater strategy for the first shot I improved to 91K.
@mvnla2, I went to the right of the tree, butt looks like you figured it out!
I’ve been flinging the 1st underwater as in the walkthrough, I haven’t noticed any big difference in scores vs from above, I’m averaging about 25k after the 1st shot.
As others mention it’s all about the 2nd shot, I aim for the upper left boulder & activate right before touching. If you can lift them all & high enough a lot of the wood from the tower tumbles off the right side for a few more points. When I scored 95k 3 boulders went into the water & the 4th was lifted over to fall down off the right side with the wood.
Thanks @karen68 — Eked out a few more points with your strat; now at 92610. Don’t know which is harder, your second shot or @SwellD‘s first shot.
As you did @karen68, my first shot was underwater. However, getting Stella to pick up those boulders and dropping them to gain higher points is a bit tough. Still trying to get more debris damage on the right tower.
Threw YB flat to take out the 1st pig and the supports under the sleigh. Second shot with Pinkie to the boulders on the right.
A refinement of the walk through video got my current 90400.
First bird a little steeper into the water, activated earlier, as the bird was diving down. 26k+
Second bird a little higher, activated just before it hit the top of the boulders.
Two birds left for 20k bonus
First bird followed @sandjoy ‘s strategy, while second bird was activated between the 2 front boulders.
I noticed something strange. When my yellow bird comes up to the left of the tree (unintentionally) the pink bird is ALWAYS more successful in sending down the boulders. I went from 84k to 89k just because I didn’t reset after coming up on the left. Wondering if anyone else noticed the same? Good luck all. Love the Advent Calendar every year! It takes some willpower but I won’t be buying in early. Going to enjoy spreading it out.
The sleigh pile is a red herring.
It can be toppled in the following ways: underwater shot; high lob to either the left or right of the tree, flat shot through the left-most pig; and finally and most importantly by boulders raining down on it. too easy.
I have been attempting all night to achieve a one birder and have been maddeningly tantalizingly close but so far no joy.
I have, however found the high scoring strat.
YB in a medium arc aiming for the “V” *behind* the two small stones in the right structure. the wood should rotate the boulder pile to the left (and one of these days I swear over the edge!).
The key here is that the boulders are now in reach for Stella to land past them. With luck you can now actually rain stoney goodness over that stinkin’ blinkin’ indestructible tree.

Thanks @SwellD! Sorry to see @ssl131 beat you. I wonder if he/she knows this level is the challenge today and that you are supposed to post your strat if you get the top score even temporarily?
I had always thought the strategy only needed to be shared by the end of the day to get the puppy…. ?
I believe @bonneypattycat that there won’t be puppies during the advent calendar as there was not an existing high score before the level was releases. Similar to WW last year. @amslimfordy?
@swelld – Many thanks, your strat worked really well for me, and I increased my score from 91k to 98k… the key was simply for the rock pile to roll enough to the left for Stella to get in behind them, to their right …. then the resultant pick up sees the boulders dumped left by Stella instead of right and straight onto the water sled…. it nearly wasn’t enough but one final boulder that rolled over the edge cracked the wood and sunk it all :)
Thank you for very splendid strategy and screenshot!
I was able to reappear to see your screenshot!
It is your strategic grace that got a score of top 3!
@swelld, not that you are ever without it anytime of year, but it sure is nice to see the Christmas spirit of sharing and giving, even in the middle of a competition . Thank you for always being so generous :)
@SwellD — Thanks again! Finally managed to get the rocks to roll left and managed almost 3K improvement to 92390. Haven’t found it that easy to get the rocks to roll left. Do you have any additional tips for the first shot?
For what it is worth, I have moved the rocks to the left 3 times in the last 15 minutes or so. I just can’t finish with a decent second shot. The key to getting the rocks to move seems to be a shallow arc with early accelator release. Here are screen shots to show the tragetory.
http://angrybir.de/19dtuN1
http://angrybir.de/19dtnAX
@mvnla2 for what it’s worth, I had more success getting the boulders to move left when I aimed yellow fairly high and tried to hit the upper left corner of the hollow wood block to the right of the boulders. Thanks @swelld for another one of your creative strategies!
@MVNLA2, I think the key is the point of contact rather than the trajectory. I have noticed that when I hit the contact area between the rock and wood I get more rock movement. I was on a streak a while ago when I made 3 out of 5 successful first shots. My second shots are lifting the rocks, but not dropping properly for a high score. Just a matter of time.
Gaah! @SwellD says medium, @birdmeister says shallow, and @hallieGinSB says high! And they all have great scores!
Thanks @swelld for being the first of the big scorers to share your strat. Unfortunately I’m now feeling your pain at trying to get the boulders over the edge on the first shot. I achieved one rock over the edge that did nothing, and a huge wobbling pile, full of promise that settled down to normal inefficient stability. Ah well, onwards and upwards (I hope)
And as soon as I posted, two went over the edge, but did nothing. Left with four boulders spaced out, that PB could never lift. Grrrrrr……
lol @hunnybunny ;D The same thing happened to me the first time I got them to move! Only two went left as desired and the other two remained at the right. I was left with a “What am I suppose to do now” shot ;-))) They were way to spread apart to make the second shot work.
After many more flings I finally got a good first shot getting the rocks to roll left. Thank you @swelld for figuring this strat out and sharing it with all of us 8)
@swelld, thanks for spending your night and comment. http://angrybir.de/19dv01t
Thanks swelld, followed your strategy, took a while but finally got the rocks flying.
Thanks for all the tips @SwellD, @Birdmeister, @HallieGinSB — Finally got a real improvement to 96010. From what you all say, it’s not so much the trajectory as where you hit. I think the important thing is to find a trajectory that lets you hit close to the same spot repeatedly. Still have a ways to go to catch the leaders, but…
@mvnla2 kind of like beating your head against a wall, eh? ;)
Wwaahhh Hoooo @Kimmiecv Finally got it! !
Thanks for your support Pahtnah; )
And thanks @swelld @e-star :) :)
Sweeet score @Kathy!! I knew you’d pull it off!! :)
@Kimmiecv Thanks Pahtnah; );)
Once again @swelld you’ve come up with an AWEmazing strat!! Thank you for sharing in, as always, such great detail! Looks like there are many of us singing your praises and man is it well deserved!! :)
SwellD – innovative approach. You helped me improve by 3k. I only get the bolders to roll left every 10 or 20 attempts but when they do roll the possibility for a good score looms large. Thanks for sharing your strategy.
Sweel-D — make that a 5k improvement. Thx
I’m finding when I move the boulder pile to the left, Pink wants to send them flying to the RIGHT now that the wooden structure is not there to run interference. I’ll keep at it!
Have been working this Strat for well over an hour….maybe two….with little success. I’ve managed to get the left roll of the rocks a dozen or so time, but can’t seem to finish with a good second shot. On another note, I had one instance where the top rock did continue enough to roll off and down the side. Unfortunately, it was not with enough power to break anything on impact….with three rocks left on top, I screwed the pooch.
I have to say that the seasons advent style IS like a Christmas present to me from rovio. All these great flingers having at the levels one day at a time and helping each other out to get good scores. I hope that it encourages more people to post and participate here as this is truly a much more fun way to play
@swelld how did you get Stella to carry the boulders to the left?
I can’t even make average here:/ *meekly cries *help*
@Kathy the yellow bird has to hit that area making the boulders fall in an almost straight line or a straight line, the pig on the left side of the boulders should be popped to make this happen as well. Then send Stella over and just as she’s to hit the far right side of the line of boulders activate her bubbles, this Should cause her to hold them and bring at least 2 or three to the Left causing them to fly left and thereby knocking the sled and stuff off into the water finishing the level (we hope) with a good score! I hope this helps, you might also want to look at some of the screen shots as they show exactly what it looks like when she bubbles them to the left.
Thanks @kimmiecv ;) I am still working on it, now with your details hopefully I’ll manage it I looks at the also wish me luck Pahtnah. .just trying to get caught up so next years we won’t have to come back lol:) great score ya got!! Nice flinging; )
You’ll get it @Kathy!! Super Big Good Luck coming your way Pahtna!! :)
What a great strategie @swelld :D I was trying it before I read your post, but I gave up, ’cause the boulders just didn’t move. After I read your post I started trying again and it took only a few tries and suddenly I got a 100k score :D
many thx to @swelld for strat.
here my video with 97k:
https://youtu.be/JrAEaPs4bL0
Thank you for the posting of your strategy, swells.
Getting the stones to move to the left proved to be a challenge. Could not figure out what the V was behind the two small stones. Just kept flinging and aiming for the hollow wood box and a bit higher.
Then luck comes into play when lifting the stones. Managed one good lift of all fours large stones for the present score.
Can someone explain where you’re firing the first YB to flip the rocks? I just can’t figure it out
Keep trying. I launch at ~45 degrees and accelerate toward the center of the hollow wooden box on the far right. That carrys the YB over and just behind the two small rocks (the ‘v’ that Swell-D) described. It took me a while to get success and I can only repeat it every 10-20 times but it really does open a path to land the Pink Bird farther down.
Thank you
With Stella, how are you getting her to move back across the screen to drop the rocks? For me she’s just taking them right and not hitting anything
When the rocks move they lay in an almost flat line, fling her so she hits more in the middle of the line of rocks and use her bubbles just as she starts to hit the rocks, if done right some will fly left and some will fly right, check out swellds pic of what it looks like and you’ll get a better idea of what I’m saying. :)
I found a good way to practise with Stella was a 3 bird approach. First shot with YB, take out the piggie in front of the rocks. Second shot with Stella, move 2 or 3 rocks to the left by shooting her as far as possible into the pile. Third shot with Stella is to shoot her slightly to the right of the rocks that are closest. This should lift them to the left over the sled and other piggies. I can consistently score high 80K with this approach. After practising, I could try for the two bird with confidence.
Thanks, this strat got me a score of 95k, I found the high arc with the YB seemed to work best for me.
Incidentally, I have managed a one birder with the same strat but destruction was poor and the score was only 88k!
I found a one bird strategy, but the score isnt too high. I did this shooting the yellow bird onto the slope of the tree, so it pops those pigs, and keeps going to knock down the tower.
I got 130000 with two birds. The first shot is high, taking out all the pigs hanging and the debris from the structures take out the pig on the ice. Second bird on the stone structure to the right. Got me a few tries to get 130.
Magnus, are you sure this strategy is for this level? Maybe you meant it for level 1-3.
@swelld How funny! I was doing the same thing (I always try to look for the red herring and the boulders were a dead giveaway LOL) and I so get your frustration! I spend a whole evening and numerous times with a wobbling stone just not wanting to tip over. I actually shook my iPad trying to get it to just take that last hump… but no luck for me as well. Will continue to keep at it though as I was “so close!!” so many times.
So recap, I send the yellow bird to the right side smashing it into the wood underneath the pig on the right. Making sure that the boulders moved towards the left edge of the platform. This usually coincided with needing to kill the pig right in front of the boulders. If the boulders rolled towards the edge I send in the pink bird towards them and lift them up, hoping for her to lift as many of the boulders and carrying them to the left. And hoping the ones going to the left would also break the wood plank, so the xmas tree would topple and fall into the water. I got 95520 for now.
Here is my video.
Ah @e-star my fine Dutch friend! Maddening isn’t it? I finally came to the conclusion that a one birder is not going to cut it and concentrated ( after far more 1000’s of flings than I would care to admit) on get the boulders to move.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for the video @E-Star!
For what it is worth, I moved the rocks all the way to the wood bracing the sled with YB. This placement is no good for lifting with Stella, but perhaps a one birder might be in the works.
As someone mentioned, hitting the piggie in front of the rocks is essential. I noticed several times that they were trembling like they wanted to move, but the piggie stopped any movement.
Here is the screen shot.
http://angrybir.de/18mwfLE
My comment about hitting the front piggie might be ambiguous. I meant hitting it with debris from the tower.y
I made a one birder but it was only for 87K. I can do better than this with two and three birds. The extra damage from dropping must be important.
Here is the screen shot.
http://angrybir.de/1iARSlb
Yellow bird underwater, coming up on right side of xmas tree. Clears Tree, and 2 pigs. Pink bird to boulders, they all rise, structure topples, and boulders roll into water. A few pieces of wood left from right structure
Send Chuck very high arc landing in the front of the first wood blank and hit the wood basis of the 1st structure, then send Stella landing above the stone balls, active her power just after impact, with luck the stones will roll and destroy remaining pigs. 93k.
@kingbird is your 190k score on the right level? Or perhaps a typo?
You
Hello @kingbird, what did you mean by “You”? Please tell us how you got such an impossible score, which I think is a typo, or you posted it to the wrong level.
I’m hoping to get a reply so that I can replace your score. If not, it will have to be erased. Thank you!
how are 190k possible in this level? @sweetp
Thanks for the headsup @trishohara. Score has been removed.
