I used an almost horizontal shot and split early so that one of the birds… usually the middle one…will ricochet off the left structure and directly into the tnt. Both sides blow out for 111150 ;-) Here’s a screenshot of the trajectory but it started to pan over to the sling so you can’t see a good view of the remaining debris:

I have another one with a score of 110230 which I will post next that does show the remaining debris ;-)

@lesleyg Thank you! A lucky score, and I haven’t been able to repeat it.

Since those parachuting “gifts” have started to appear again, I’d like to say my score did not come as a result of one of them.
I’ll take the opportunity to say I personally never take advantage of them and their 3k to improve my scores. Whenever one appear, I use my first bird to pop it, and then restart. I find them annoying, and I think they kind of ruin the Rio leaderboards.

I thought so too @peejaydee27, and angrily wrote about it in the Seasons update comments. But luckily it’s not so. In Seasons the gifts cover a pig that is in the level anyway, and the points are from popping the pig. No gift bonus points.

I’m glad to have helped ;-) and don’t worry about bumping me to 5th…I knew I wasn’t going to keep my Top Score here very long…I am only up to level 14 and I still have 4 Top Scores but I don’t expect them to last either, hahaha ;-) There’s a lot of Nesters that haven’t played these levels yet so I’m sure the “Sheriff” will be knocking on my door…Perhaps if I don’t answer they will go away, tee hee ;-D

In case anyone is struggling to get the feather, I finally got 100% by putting the can into the second row of the first tower next to the marmoset. It took me a few tries before finally getting the 100%.

Tried many combinations (aiming high/low, splitting early late) and at least IMO there doesn’t seem to be one “best” strategy for me. Many combos frequently gave >100K, and many eventually gave >105K. They only pattern I see is that my scores are higher when the destruction starts on the right and moves left. I settled on something rather simple;
Moderate arc aiming at left base of right tower. I don’t even split bird, and try to take out only the single lower left glass leg. Tower slowly leans to left, ignites TNT, and clears level to left. Managed a 110K so I’m satisfied.

@tmax as you’ve most likely discovered by now, collect the coins so you can unlock new levels early. Since you’re ~2 weeks ahead of me, I am on -7 now and have to wait 3 hours or 30 coins for level 8. Do they keep getting ridiculously long or is there some sane max wait at some point?

@bonneypattycat, @lesleyg are there “missions” to earn extra coins or is Rovio engaged in a new profit scheme to sell sell sell? I guess I shouldn’t complain, as much as I play free versions ….

I too tried a lot of different angles and strategies posted above. Came close to 110k with @breadman3‘s strategy. I finally settled on a very early release with the bottom bird hitting the marmoset on the second level of the left structure, and the top bird hitting the little stone at the top of the vertical glass at the base of the right structure. It is a precise shot, but easier to do than you might imagine.

Thanks @bonneypattycat for posting your strategy. Used basically the same. Found that exploding from the right side to the left side provides the higher score. Tried to get into the 110k scoring range but no such luck.

@hazeman you jinxed me! I just finally go Rio to update (like a touch level, 50 attempts and it would fall just shy of actually installing) last night, first day playing the new Treasure Hunt, go back to get > avg on level 1, and a beautiful score of 119 that can ONLY be a DCB. So, I played on until I got an >avg 108 and I’m moving on.

Sure wish they’da fixed it prior to this update.

But @breadman – thanks – the single no-split has worked best so far, I may try the @lesleyg low-split later when I get another break.
Note – I get best results when I tap the stone block atop the glass vertical support first, seems to pull more to the left

Used basically same strategy as AngryAdvisor, except split about 1/3rd to 1/2 of way to first tower. Left tower fell right and third tower fell left into TNT. Sure was pretty when it went off. There was still some debris left, higher score is possible.

@bernersenn The high scores were removed by either @admins or the respective member Randa (at randa). Hopefully, it was just an unintended error on his/her part.
