Our strategy for Rocket Rumble Level #14 is to fling Matilda towards the middle glowing mushrooms, and drop the egg bomb. Then loft the Yellow bird towards the right detonator. Finally, send another bird towards the detonating cord to finish off the level. The score in the video below is 178,100.

This method is more reliable in thoroughly obliterating two left structures (also solves “monkey in your face” problem…if you played the video method enough, you’ll know what I mean ;) Here’s a pictorial:

Bird 1: http://angrybir.de/J3pxUT — Drop the egg into the tunnel so it detonates the green rocket which will wipe out lower tower. Ricocheting WB will take care of the upper structure.

Bird 2: http://angrybir.de/1cH15jA — same as video.

Bird 3: http://angrybir.de/1cH1ang — same as video but aim WB higher so it goes through the now open space and inflicts some more damage when it falls down.

It should be noted that this method has potential for one-birder…a couple of times small rocket went to the right and only the lowest monkeys in the sand barely survived.

I have done a one birder using the same aim point as the video. I must have hit the sweet spot because everything started exploding and collapsing together. The key to it was the rocket at the bottom left taking out the structure on top of the rocks. It veered at just the right moment rather than shooting straight up. The score was not impressive – 181K and only a few hundred more than my best two birder.

Oops, I should have said using the same aim point as the second shot in the video for my first shot. This is a good aim point for a two birder. Everything but the top structure with the three monkeys
goes.

Thanks @fenikus, followed your strat for a two-birder (shot too early or it may have been a one-birder) to come close to your high score. I believe the second bird was needed to take out the TNT and the one-birder might have been a lower score.

Hi @hallieginsb and @abeggertoo, those are some awesome scores you achieved, congrats! I’ve gotten several one-birders but none came close to my 3-bird score of 191K (which is I think about the max for 3 birds). The one I’ve been chasing (and it seems like you got it @hallieginsb) is when the small red/yellow rocket drops down, shots to the right and ignites the big red/blue rocket. That happened to me few times but the middle section with the detonator didn’t collapse and I botched second shots for what would have been 192-195K 2 birders. Anyway, I think 200K is possible on this level and someone will eventually get it.

@fenikus To be honest, I didn’t really see what set off the big red/blue rocket, but looking at the level again this am, it must have been the little red/yellow rocket you are talking about. I know Matilda fell down the middle channel while the big rocket went below and to the right of the bottom 2 marmosets, and the bottom right little tnt was the last to blow. So much happening at the same time it was hard to catch all the action!

Replaying this level many years later, I made numerous attempts at the one-birder with no success. I have replaced my old score of 197k with a decent two-bird score of 196k.

Whooppee! Thanks to you, got a 1-birder following your strat @fenikus! The rocket from the upper structure flew to the right, while the debris from the structure below triggered the hanging rocket. The ensuing destruction was amazing and fun to watch! When the dust finally settled, I was left with four bonus birds and a score of 196k!

Thank you for post with pics @fenikus. I just managed a 2-birder on Android phone for 192170 & like @abeggertoo, it might have been a 1-birder had I been more patient & not shot too soon. When releasing YB, I hadn’t realized something had set off the blue rocket & the lower right side was gone as the upper side was being destroyed, I’m pretty sure I’d noticed the rocket explode at the top of the screen, so there’s at least a 50/50 chance that the “middle” marmoset (the one to the left of the rightmost red lantern) I killed with YB shot would have remained anyway after the pretty massive destruction with the 1st shot.

First two birds like @fenikus strategy and @comex666 video but the red/yellow rocket just would not go to the right side to activate the fuse. Used the third bird as in the ABN video.

If you drop the egg slightly earlier than the video, it will bounce left and up to the other mushrooms. It will then bounce back to the right and hit the back structure. Occasionally, the the rocket in the front structure will do damage to the the back structure before the egg bounces to there. I’ve botched the second shot the few times this happens, but I think there a potential big point 2-birder with this method, only 177k with 3 birds so far.

One ridiculous shot for 201k. More or less same as @fenikus. Little yellow and red rocket hit the fuze of Blue rocket (this happens quite often) but this time the blue rocket managed to find its way all the way to where the switch his. Everything was flying.

Congrats Manu (@eweber) — i’ve gotten to almost this point several times but the blue rocket just didn’t have that oomph to reach the detonator switch. I’m curious, did you notice if it went all the way up the right wall and then bounced down to detonator section or was it some other trajectory?

Sorry @fenikus I don’t remember. I want to say that it didn’t go that far and turned earlier. The one thing I can say is that it broke through the switch and exploded after sending both marmoset flying

@eweber, yup, it was near TD especially on low left side where some debris usually remains. This time there were only a couple of small pieces left. I would gladly trade my two amazing shots for your one amazing shot though ;-)

thanks for aiming point @fenikus ,i would be lying if i said i knew exactly how it all went down ,i got the 1 birda on my third try :)) ,.There is a shot in my album after the count ,for what its worth ,the only other info i can give is if u wear glasses take them off and try the shot at 2.13 am Australian time …..Good luck to all

@xebic88 sorry mate for letting you hang on to the top score for only 2 days…finally got that 1 birda I was chasing! It went down as I thought it would — small hellow/red rocket ignited big blue/red rocket which went down under monkeys in sand but then turned a corner and went up through the detonator in the middle. I had lots of time to snap a screenshot because one monkey went high up in the air and it took a while for him to fall down to his demise: http://angrybir.de/1cfzc6b.

I still think better score is possible, 205-210K.

WTG @fenikus , im quite happy u held off that long ,it would appear AngryBirds is more popular than i had realized in Australia ,The day after i grabbed the high score ,i walked down to the beach only to be confronted with Aussie flags and oi oi oi ,it was a tad embarrassing to be completely honest , i heard they may even have monday of work ,lol,crazy bunch .. good luck to all

Dropped egg of 1st bird into the lower tunnel ricocheting carcasse into left top structure – quite good level of destruction (appr. 100k). Additionally, red/yellow rocket took out parts of the middle structure. Way was free for a drect hit of the big blue rocket’s nose with YB (takes some time to find the right trajectory). This 2-birder resulted in almost 195k.

Followed same strat as @fenikus and dropped the egg from the first bird into the tunnel. The bird’s carcasss ricocheted upwards and broke the wooden bar, the small yellow rocket with the red stripes fell down, spluttered a bit then ignited the fuse of the big blue rocket with the red stripes. That fired into and ignited the TNT in the bottom right corner and the whole lot went up. A lucky one-birder which gives me top score of 204300 for now.
