Poached Eggs level 1-18 takes a bit of brute force. The best strategy is to start low and work your way up, with the goal of having debris fall back, destroying the pigs beneath. The score in the video below is 48,860.
Version 2022:
Poached Eggs level 1-18 takes a bit of brute force. The best strategy is to start low and work your way up, with the goal of having debris fall back, destroying the pigs beneath. The score in the video below is 48,860.
Version 2022:
54,610- got lucky and took out the last 2 pigs in 1 shot.
56830 – was able to do that twice for 2 bonus birds.
where did you aim your birds ?
I got managed to do it with 3 birds and got 58380!
Here’s the video
This one was tough because to see the target and your sling you have to be fully zoomed out. This level would really benefit from the leader lines in ABSpace. Followed @e-star ‘s vid as close as possible and finished with two birds to spare, but did not get as high as some of the others.
Thank you my darling @e-star ahhhh what a wonder you are with your videos! :D luv ya :•
Thank you!
Thanks @e-star I got it within 3-4 tries!
You are welcome all, glad it still works a year later :D
I noticed that the leaderboards aren’t “connected” here. Is this level an exception or something?
No, that would be a miss on my part. Let me check.
I found this level quite hard to get a decent score in. Getting the 3 stars is one thing but trying to beat the average is a lot harder. The above hints are correct as in start at the bottom and work your way up. The crucial shot/bird is the 3rd to get the last 2 pigs in the one go. So far I’ve still only managed to score about 600 over the average score. I’m guessing the top scorers must be getting this with only 2 birds or would you have to use only 1 bird to get over 69,000?
64410 (two birds)- First bird took out the bottom two pigs with the wood crushing them and then I repeted the same thing for the top two pigs. Bottom up works the best. The yellow bird has to smash all the way through the wood blocks and not get hung up on any of them.
i can’t beat level 1-18 with 3 stars.only 2.
Have to get at least two pigs with one bird. If you aim at the higher blocks above the birds, starting at the lowest the chance of getting two pigs appears better. The block tumbling can take out a pig. Aim for the horizontal seams between the blocks, some of them laying on top of each other. Had two pigs left over.
Tips for eagle destruction on Chrome:
– Try to aim high and destroy things higher so you have more to clean up at the bottom. Then put the can at the very bottom and hope for the best.
– Like 1-7, 1-10, 1-13, and 1-14, try to fiddle with the placement of the sardined. About halfway between the structure and the slingshot should do it.
Two bird strat for 63K, but higher possible. First bird high arc breaking through the two offset vertical pieces of wood in front of second pig from bottom. Bird wedges between horizontal pieces of wood, then rolls with wood and bird taking out both bottom pigs. Second bird (like bird three in video) through bottom horizontal wood in front of top pig. Takes out last two pigs with 30K bonus for remaining birds. Very difficult strat, but always leads to scores 62K and higher.
Thank you @abeggertoo! This worked very nicely for almost 66k! I caught a break when nearly all the blocks fell away after the first bird, leaving only a single vertical block in front of the top pig. I can see getting a 1-birder with this approach.
68620/2 with @abeggertoo ‘s strategy for the daily challenge.1st bird i was launching with its right tip close to the sling activating it a bit after its apex (using the grey button-with-the-eye (what’s it for?) for timing the activation). 2nd medium high arc, activating it on its descent when crossing the white arc in the background (playing zoomed-in on ipad air); this should make the bird go through the top horizontal wood in front of top pig, which is distinct from what was described but don’t know whether it matters. i found timing of both shots difficult, and only managed some 62k 2-bird clearances (where i had 64k from before) with lots of wood left, until i got lucky, not really with the 1st as that left both lower pigs alive, but black-eyed and covered by sufficiently unstable woods to try a 2nd which went very well: woods and bird rolled down, killing the top pigs and breaking the obstructing woods below for 68.5k.
@abeggertoo many thanks for the strategy. I’m not sure which shot is harder, but my success rate on the 2nd one was pretty low. Finally got them both to work together for 63k.
Highest score done with two birds, which i know is possible, and i have been so close! It would be nice to hear from some of the users who have gotten scores over… 62k or so, so we can see the 2 bird strat. Even the power ups don’t help much, and it would still take a lot of time and work. I’m not sure that i’d waste them here.
2 bird strategy
1. shoot chuck towards the middle of the 3 wood pieces above the leftmost pig so you make it through to the 2nd pig.
2. same as above but towards the 3rd leftmost pig
So sorry if I got some folks worried! Was playing the wrong #18, and have replaced my goofy score.
that’s a pity. seeing you first had a 67k and then a 69k score for the daily challenge, i hoped you had found a new strategy (as getting two such high scores by pure luck on the same day seemed unlikely), and was keen to check this page the day after to see it, but alas, your scores were for another level, and no new strategy. a hard level it remains.
Just one of the worst, most joyless levels of them all.
Ok, so I got this score using Classics. Which I think might be a bit easier. The 1st bird you aim at the bottom part to get the three pieces of wood. Then the pile of wood at the top should fall down, and if your lucky it should cause a bit of destruction too, which also leaves some room at the top to aim the next bird. The 2nd bird aim at the top part getting the three pieces of wood at the top as well. Then that part should also collapse causing even more destruction too.

@discobeaks agreed that the best strat on this level is to aim at the bottom on the first shot and the top on the second. On the first shot I sent Chuck low toward the pig on the first step, activating on his descent in a trajectory that follows the line between the two slightly tilted horizontal wood blocks in front of him. You need all the wood above that pig to fall to the ground. I sent the second Chuck toward the top pig, activating at the top of his trajectory toward the line between the two horizontal wood blocks in front of him. Just under 74k.

Just did the same strat with 3 birds remaining. Score is just 5 points higher! Here are the screenshots down below.

@sweetp, I am presuming we are shooting for 67920 to get a puppy here because the top three scores are all Classics.
@desperate-dan, you are correct. So now you can play either version of this level and still get a puppy.
Sorry, expressed that badly, what I really meant was that the puppy target for using ABO was 67920 and for using Classics was the top score. There are two completely different contests here.
@sweetp Well it’s happened. The daily challenge now has avian flu! The top score is not allowed to be the top score so I guess we are going for the genuine top score for a puppy? What that is is anyone’s guess as the new version sometimes throws up scores that end in a zero and so look genuine. FYI @desperate-dan
@briann has obviously had his coffee! See his comments.
Wake up and smell the coffee! Classic scores allowed today in Challenge.
How right you are! Didn’t see that or see it coming!!
Here’s a video of @abeggertoo ‘s great strat. Only 61k but it’s the way forward with some luck.

68300/2
Doh, I really screwed that up given my two previous posts. Reckoned the best way to get a pup was to break both high scores with both versions. But I thought I was chasing 69k for the lower target. No live proof of 68300 using ABO so I won’t claim a pup. I just played like @discobeaks describes their Classics approach.
Hope to be back with a Classics high later on…
If indeed 68300 is even a valid pup score, needs sorting out.
As long as there is valid proof before the clock runs out, then yes it qualifies for a puppy. If you play it again and get another 3-star score, take a screenshot so we can see your original high score below the current one. For puppy (photo from non-networked PC). First bird low, second bird high with very fortunate tumbling destruction from second bird. Very lucky, only took a few mins. Got up to almost 72k on Classics.
Sorry @sweetp, you must think that I am in a permanent state of confusion. Would a Classics score beating a Classics high score also get a pup on levels such as these?
@desperate-dan No problem, we’re all here to have fun anyway!
Oh dear @sweep, missed your earlier reply. Scrub my previous question. It’s been a hard day. And thanks for clearing it up.
ABO 2-birder for 68,050
I followed @e-star’s video strategy, but I got a lucky roll of blocks to the left which gave me just enough destruction to break 68k for an ABO puppy.

@sweetp
Classics is the version to play to get an Underdog today. Two birds in Classics for 76k using same strat as posted above @sweetp
Score proof: https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/members/hallieginsb/album/picture/29922/
Yes I thought Classics might be the softer target @HallieGinSB but ironically I got a puppy score on the old ABO target almost straight away without using Classics. How odd.
@desperate-dan @sweetp I think the posted top score above of 73k is the only “target” for today’s Challenge. There is only one leaderboard.
What!!! How was that even beatable! There was only three wooden blocks left. Does posting Classics scores effect daily challenges? Because I wondered that when I started but I posted tons already. And I can’t post scores on ABO because I have a good amount of levels that used powerups, and I will just end up getting confused with the screenshots and scores.
@hallieginsb, I’m just taking the advice of @sweetp higher up this thread. On the whole though, it might be a good idea if the Challenge avoids levels such as this as as @discobeaks says, it can get very confusing for Classics players.
@desperate-dan see response below from sweetp.
Yes thanks @HallieGinSB. There was a lengthy parallel discussion in the Bloated Pig as well so all in all a pretty exhausting day. So much so I didn’t get around to beating your score ;-)
Had a go at Classic version yesterday got within a few hundred points of @discobeak’s score and could see how 75k could be got. You must’ve chopped up every piece of wood, set fire to it and eaten the ashes @hallieginsb. Nice one!
@sweetp although yesterday’s Challenge, Poached Eggs 1-18, is over, there is still some confusion about Classics scores being allowed on the Challenge and what the top score to beat for an Underdog is when the top score at the start of the Challenge is from Classics. The updated note on the Challenge page I think makes it clear, but perhaps it would also be helpful to comment here on this walkthrough page, given the comments posted on this thread by @desperate-dan .
@discobeaks – yeah, I was kind of surprised by the score yesterday, too! I wish I was quicker at getting screenshots before the level times out, but my tablet is just too awkward for me to do that most of the time. Plus, I almost always play zoomed in and don’t capture the full screen when I do get it to work. Anyway, as I recall there were still a couple of pieces of wood left. I think what racked up the points was that a lot of wood pieces bumped into each other as they tumbled down after the second shot, and all that extra wood contact added points beyond simple wood destruction. And now that Classics scores are allowed on the Challenge, maybe you can join in and play the Challenge when those levels come up!
YIKES! I wouldn’t blame you all if you were to send an angry mob after me.
I’m SO sorry everyone, I was very confused and wasn’t thinking it through when I mentioned having to beat the 67K score for a puppy.
@hallieginsb is correct! The score to beat is the one Highscore that shows on the Challenge Page.
@desperate-dan @comex @asher I see the wood for the trees now. Disappointing but now I know. Play the Classics, Parallel Universe (PU) levels on these episodes for a puppy. Fair enough.
@comex666 sorry Michael missed the numbers
Wow, you almost landed on the Nov 6 Challenge a day early @steviep147. But it doesn’t look like level 2-18 has so far succumbed to Classics.
