Our strategy for Mighty Hoax level 5-11 is to use the first Yellow bird to break the horizontal wooden block supporting the stone plank. This should open a direct path to the TNT with the next Yellow bird. Finally, pop the two pigs on the extreme left using a downward shot with the third Yellow bird. The score in the video below is 68,260.
Version 2022:
I shot the left piggies first. With luck the golfcar knocks against the pillar, making the diagonal beam fall over and exposing the TNT. Shoot the yellow bird the same as the second bird of the video above. resulting in a 2 birdie! Got 77660 with this methode.
Here’s the video
After 72k on a 3 birder I settle on almost 80 k for a 2 birder. Are the 80 k and above 2 birders?
And thanks again e-star, I assumed a possible 2 birder, seeing the way it was done made my 2 birder doable. The only difference was the plank sliding back instead of toppling over.
@e-star Thank you for the video and alternate strategy. Gained 14k in points. The first launch with the yellow bird was a challenge to line up. Noticed that when the wooden plank on the cart hits the column or the cart hit the column some times the right structure starts to shake. The shake is minor at first but then it increases and the almost verticle grey plank starts to slide down the face of the structure. If the movement of the sturcture is not strong enough the plank will stop sliding before clearing the entire hollow wooden block making the second yellow bird launch a bit more difficult.
Indeed confirmed.
First shot barely over the golf flag pole, killing both leftmost pigs and ramming the golf cart into column.
Goal: diagonal stone plank slides slowly downwards allowing the shot through the wooden box.
Second shot through the wooden box, nicely into TNT, killing the tree remaining pigs and hoping for favourable debris including the column.
Finally after several tries I got the cement board to slide down!
@E-Star ~ Another wonderful video that helped me to increase my score ~ Thanks always!
okay, i’m disgusted with whatever facebook is doing to this game, is there any other place on the net to play the game?? they are definitely putting something on the game that will not allow all these shots to take place as in the video’s, i’m certain of that now. can you help?? Thank you.
Mary
They are the same, besides the power ups.
You can play Angry Birds Chrome and Angry Birds Google+ besides Facebook.
Thank you, do i need to download the chrome browser for that?? i keep throwing that browser off my computer, i do have the google, but i have to say, i take the same shots as in the video’s on the fb game and they won’t do the same amount of that it shows on the video’s here, i’m doing mighty hoax 32 and there is for sure a difference going on, i have the latest adobe update, i’m doing this on the firefox browser, don’t know if that should count for anything.
okay, i answered my question and don’t have to download chrome, thank god.
Which is the best bird to destroy a white pillar as given in above level. like blue is best for ice , yellow best for wood ,Black best for stones.
An explosion is pretty much necessary, so White or Black.
thanks
@AMslimfordy why was my comment removed?
Wasn’t really relevant. We know yellow birds are best on wood, etc.
I asked which one was best on pillars i really dont know which one is .if you think you know everything and you dont want to share the information then fine
You’re asking about Blue and Black birds, but there are none in this level. There’s only Yellow birds and a White bird at the end.
you didnt even understand my question and deleted it.I am not asking about this level I have just commented on it because it contains a white pillar and I wanted to know which bird destroys it the best.If you dont understand what structure am I saying then ask that.I may not be good in vocabulary as you are but imo it is known as a pillar.another example of pillar is 3-21,3-20,3-12etc
Please don’t post in all caps. I’ll answer your question above.
ok…
I just typed a LONG comment, and lost it for some reason! I hate it when that happens!
This level has been driving me nuts, and I am not yet satisfied with my score. However, I wanted to point out something that I have discovered about this level (and I’m shocked that no one has mentioned it here!).
I’ve been using the method that @estar uses in her video. I was getting frustrated because I could not figure out what actually made the stone plank fall (I tend to be much too analytical about this game sometimes). What I have come to realize is that the first bird makes no difference in whether the plank will fall or not. The main structure is unstable, and occasionally the plank will fall. It doesn’t matter how hard the cart crashes into the pillar, what matters is how much the structure shakes and moves. In other words, getting the plank to fall can be accomplished without throwing a bird.
In addition, sometimes the plank falls to the left, and other times it slides down to the right. The best scenario is for the plank to fall to the right, and the pillar fall to the left. This doesn’t happen often, but when it does it’s nice destruction with no effort. I had this happen once where the pig in the cart was killed by the debris from the falling plank/pillar.
Ultimately, I think that a one bird finish is possible, albeit highly unlikely. In order for this to happen, the pig in the cart needs to be killed before a bird is thrown, and debris (a stone, perhaps) needs to hit the first pig. This will be rare.
I’m posting two screenshots. The first shows when the plank slid down to the right and took out the pig in the cart. The second shows where the plank fell to the left on top of the wood plank. The difference in destruction is pretty obvious.
I hope this helps someone, or at least stops someone from beating her/his head against the wall trying to get the cart to trigger the stone plank to fall!

@mvnla2, I’m copying you so you can add to your list of unstable levels. I’ll try to leave a comment in the forum later tonight.
Thank you DocTony for your observation, indeed I have been banging my head!! It simply will not fall and now I see from your comments what I didn’t see before! Very happy it’s not my flinging but some weird instability! Guess I will have to hope it falls before I Start getting gray hair!!!
Well I finally beat the avg but not by any luck with the stupid cement block falling, Noooo it was just plain luck!!!!
Hi all. I played this level so long ago I forgot that I had a one birder over and over. I had a hard time using the iphone to get good second shots. But here is a bit of refinement of what happens. @doctonynyc yes this is one of those unstable levels.
It is in fact NOT the plank but the pillar that supports the wooden plank on which the leaning stone plank sits that is the key here. If its going to move it will do so within 15 or so seconds of reset. Yes the stone plank will fall BUT WAIT! The pillar will continue it’s weebeling and wobbling to the end and fall left taking out the pig in the cart. Very rarely will the mustached pig go down but it can happen. 1st bird to TNT. Done. Or 2nd to take out Hog Selleck as I like to call it. 80+ easy with two stellar if you can get it in one 90+
@swellD – Thanks for this comment! I agree that if the plank is going to fall, it will happen pretty quickly so there’s no point in waiting. The rest of your comment is, indeed, very enlightening. This is a strategy that just might work. I don’t have a lot of the L factor. I really think that the L factor belongs to the really good shooters and isn’t so much luck as skill refined. But it’s still an enticing strategy & one I won’t be able to resist trying even if it doesn’t work for me. Thanks again.
I just want to reply that there are two excellent methods for low birds high points. I don’t know if everyone is bypassing my comments but you do not have to wait long to know if the pillar is going to move. You WILL have to reset A LOT in order to have it happen. There are two basic ways for the the leaning diagonal stone plank to fall. Sliding down as the pillar teeters to the left and flipping top end over to the left. For ME, I. Don’t left the second as it does not give the pillar a good chance to take out the pig on the cart though I have even seen the pillar move left like that too. My score is two bird with pillar crushing the cart. 1 out of 100 or so resets.
BUT if that doesn’t happen. A low shot to the stone piece on the cart, OVER the ice triangle and taking out Ham Selleck too, can push the cart to the pillar and continue the collapse of that side leaving you with one other shot to take to clear. This is NOT a fun level to wait around on for sure but in order to score high you have to have a touch of OCD like me to keeps serially resetting.
Hang in there and happy flinging (mostly)
@swelld, what is your success rate in taking out the pillar by pushing the cart over? I guess I’m fed up with this level because of rarity of these things, I’ve seen the plank fall once in about 3 hours of playing & have never been able to get the shot through Ham Selleck (love the name!) into the cart to knock down the pillar.
Awesome score, congratulations!
@Karen68 if I don’t screw it up 1 in 30. It happens immediately after reset. If you get to one thousand one etc…..by 10 you know if the plank is moving. If not reset. Longer to START moving ain’t happening. It may take longer however to FINISH. SOMETIMES as long as a minute
@swelld thanks for the details. I’ve only gotten the white column to scoot over slightly a few times-maybe different on my kindle? I love the name Ham Selleck!
Perfect:)
@swellD – Ham Sellek is pure genius.
That should have been Ham Selleck below. Sorry to intrude into your space @wanda. Is everyone having fun?
@duffy no problem. I think I’m still having fun?! Nice score there!
Ha Ha Ha @swellD I too love the Ham Selleck!!!! That’s hysterical :-)))
So I open this level to see what I’m up against, am zooming out, and the dastardly metal plank that covers the TNT just falls over flat…by itself. Without knowing how important that was, I flung at the TNT, got great damage and destroyed all pigs but the left big one. Still flinging casually because I didn’t realize what a lucky break I had gotten, I freaking missed the big pig, trying to get fancy. I see now I could have had a fantastic 2 birder. And no, the plank won’t fall anymore. Disheartened….and dumb. But still flinging.
@DocTonyNYC…sorry, didn’t see your post on the instability of the level. I was much too mad at myself and need to rant. From now on, I’ll read before I rant.(;
@waimea – rotten luck. . I haven’t checked the leaderboard yet, but I bet you will score high if you haven’t already. If not, better luck today.
@duffy…great score! Thanks for the encouragement. After an hour of trying to get the plank to fall again on its own, I just gave up because I was po’ed about my missed golden opportunity. But now, the next morning, with a cup of coffee and a few hours left in the challenge, I’m cooled off enough to give it another go. Since I’m fairly new to this, I must ask: do people get ulcers from playing AB? I think I might be on the way to one! (;
Haha, at the Bloated pig, we call that a “Big Piggie” I can laugh, because I did the same thing this morning.
Add my name to the Big Piggie list, @burbman. I sent the first bird into the two left pigs, didn’t wait long enough, and threw the second bird into the falling plank/tipping column :(. Haven’t repeated that first shot all day, it is so frustrating.
OMGosh!!! I am just reading everyone’s comments and I too made a “Big Piggie” with the plank! Oh dear, I guess I don’t have enough time befoe Challenge ends for it to happen again ;-( Oh well I can’t have the “L” factor on all of them, lol
I found u can get a2 birda ,by shooting first straight threw the angled bit of wood ,hitting small vertical cement ,then hit wooden box,in such away that the left top is falling left when tnt blows ,needing the debrie to hit both pigs on left ,done it twice so far ,for just under 80k , good luck ,going to get glasses lol
I am trying a similar two-bird strategy, because I am not patient enough to wait for the stone plank to fall on its own. It worked twice for me so far, with the best result in 76K. What I do is I use the first bird to break the wooden plank holding that stone plank. Then, I use the second bird (without accelerating!) to break only the front plank of the square. This way, the bird does not blow the TNT right away. The TNT falls in such a way that the debris from the roof fly to the left taking the pig in the cart and (not often, but sometimes) the big mustached one. It is not likely to get a very high score this way, since the TNT does not destroy the building on the right very well, but it can give you some improvement if you have a score in the 60s-low 70s, up to higher 70s, may be even 80K.
yeh ,that second shot sounds easier than mine ,..i just looked at score board ,lol, there must be a 1 birda here ,or i am missing something ..Good luck @annach
@annach. Thank you! I just improved 2k. I never would have thought of NOT accelerating the yellow bird, good idea.
I played this many times with only a tiny speck of movement to which I would have attached no significance if I hadn’t read the comments. I was scoring in the 68+ range & was about to write that I must have the most stable iPad in the world when lo & behold the plank fell after I had taken out the first 2 pigs. My second shot yielded a score of 84+. I’ll keep trying for higher for the Challenge but I’m pretty happy with this to start. As my chum @kimmiecv would say – Whoo-Hoo!!!
Congrats @duffy. Nice score. The Kindle doesn’t seem to have the instability or I just don’t have the patience. Left it after flinging the first bird for over 10 minutes with no result.
@scooter – Thanks. I, too, wish I had the patience to wait for it to destabilize. It’s as much fun as watching grass grow. And so sporting! It’s somehow the opposite version of shooting an endangered species from a helicopter with an assault weapon. Thanks again, Scooter.
@slim – When there is a level with some instability, does that not give an advantage to those with the instability? I have played several games since I posted my most recent score. The plank has never fallen on its own which means that I can’t 2 star it. Is it possible to get equally high scores with 3 birds? I realize I am not an example of a good or great shooter but I haven’t been able to get out of the high 60s if the plank doesn’t fall on its own. I’m just wondering if there isn’t some inherent unfairness in these kinds of inconsistencies. Not trying to make a big deal here, just wondering if you can score as high with 3 birds as with 2 and if you can’t is that quite right. Thanks.
I came to today’s challenge with a score of 75k @duffy. If I remember I was happy in the high 60’s(above average) until a few months ago I read @e-star method & patiently brought my score up to 75k. Happy at that I left it……until today!! I’ve just spent a couple of hrs reaching my current score. This ranged wildly from 69k with hardly any damage to the satisfying 83k I’ve now got. I don’t believe you can get any higher than 70k with 3 birds so unfortunately think this level is a shoot/reload epic, just waiting on the metal bar falling & then hoping for a great deal of destruction from 2nd bird….not good news for anyone struggling on this one I’m afraid but if you’re willing to lose a few hours of your life then it can be done:) That being said,if anyone reading this isn’t willing to lose hours of their life then they shouldn’t be playing AB lol!!
@JLZ666 – Thnks for replying. Overall I tend to agree with you. But I can’t help remembering another unstable level where people left their devices on for hours and got 100s of points. I left mine on all night and my score never budged. It wasn’t a Challenge level but I remember feeling frustrated that even if I got lucky with my shot, I was never going to score competitively. Also, when you are playing with a time limit, is it quite fair to have to wait for the destabilization? I’m fortunate that I’m retired but when I wasn’t, I would never have had time to play all day & too tired to play all night, not to mention the ever present demands of family. Playing on the job would have been highly unprofessional. Maybe that’s different now, since those days predated IPads and Angry Birds and thus is probably irrelevant. So I guess IF the level is unstable for everyone, it evens the odds. I guess.
Sorry @duffy I don’t think I came across very clear in my comment. I don’t think this level is like some of the “all-nighters” I personally don’t feel it’s actually playing the game as such. I would say this is more unpredictable with a whole lot of luck mixed in:) I would liken it to PE 3-9…..my nemesis:((( no matter how many times I tried it just wouldn’t wobble & fall for me!
@JLZ666 – I’m with you all the way on unpredictable with a whole lot of luck mixed in. I haven’t been able to improve my score – no falling plank. I haven’t played too much because we are going on a color tour tomorrow and I’m trying to get organized. Now there’s a sight! I started the day by catching my toe on my pajama bottom as I got up from the chair and falling flat on my _ _ _. Another sight to behold! So how’s your day going?
@duffy @jlz-666 very nice scores ladies! My highest score with 3 birds was 71k, I managed my current score using the strat from @annach above & 2 birds.
I’m curious about the frequency of the instability of the falling plank. A lot of people seem to be seeing it, but I’ve played for over 2 hours & it only happened once. I’ve seen it shift several times, & I’m being patient, waiting & waiting, but it’s not falling. You’re right JLZ, no life today if I want to improve :)
Hi @karen68 u can get that to fall with more frequency ,and sometimes get the pillar to go over to left as well as taking out first bird that being said ,not my favoorite shot ,u might do better,.hit just under top of pillar ,speed up just out of sling ,u will know the shot when the yellow deflecks of pillar onto head of the big pig ,at worst ,u should have your second shot open,,Good luck
@xebic88 – could you clarify that comment a bit, my friend? I’m having trouble translating it from Tanzanian. How do you get it to fall w/ more frequency? And are you saying that when it does, it sometimes takes out the big pig? Please help, I’m confused. Thanks, Xebic.
@xebic88 – never mind. I found what you meant in your and Annach’s comments. Thanks for the tip – I may give it a try.
thats not the same @duffy ,the first 1 is different to the one here ,and i just put another variation on ,sorry for confusion ,i will try and put a few picks up:)
Thanks @karen68 I’ve just gone back into the level to give you some kind of idea of frequency. 1st attempt – 21 shots till 1st “bar fall”,only waited a couple of secs in between to know it wasn’t going anywhere. I saw @scooter above was waiting 10min,absolutely don’t have to wait that long:( also the bar sometimes topples backwards as well as “sliding” forward. With the 2nd bird it only got me 75k. Next was 47 shots, again only got 76k. I guess the “L” factor strikes again! Sorry I can’t help more but I’ve now got a headache & my blood pressures up so leaving this behind :D!!
@jlz-666 wow thanks for the counting! I just played100 times & the plank didn’t fall nor did the pillar wiggle or wobble anywhere, I think it’s time to take a break. Sorry about your blood pressure – maybe we can be roommates in an Angry Birds infirmary somewhere after we’ve both had a stroke from playing this game! :)
Ha!! @karen68 “padded” roommates I think! Should really learn to put the game down when I can hear the blood rushing!
@jlz-666 I really enjoyed that cup of coffee or 2 during that 10 minutes…LOL I ended up using @annach strategy above to get where I am. Over average so I am happy and ready for a new challenge. This one has been a pain! Appreciate all who have contributed reading material and strategy for this level. Have enjoyed all the comments and strategies. See you in the new challenge.
Thanks @Karen68. I guess our curiousity about the falling plank will remain one of life’s unsolved mysteries. I, for one, will play a bit more, but I’m not counting on getting many more chances to better my score.
Hi again ,i just put on another few thousand ,i dont wait for anything to fall on first shot ,this time i aimed as if going for the wood plank the bomb is on ,speed up over half way ,it will hit the angled metal beam ,and the pig directly under Tnt should pop ,yellow will roll of onto cart ,and pillar will get pushed left slow ,may not fall, and lucky clean up with second ,thats all i got..Good luck
Thanks @xebic88. It sounds really hard and best left to shooters a lot better than me. But what the hey- I may just test it out. Thanks, friend.
This level doesn’t stand out too much to me. Sorry. I suppose the response above is more detailed than I can be.
Now I do believe that Scores 90k+ are possible.
Something incredible happens to me. I shot the 1st Bird above the ice triangle into the small Stone piece.
Then the pillar moves pretty slow to the left and after about 1 min a BIG Bang and the pillar and the right wheel exploded. 24k after 1st shot. 2nd bird into the square Wood Block. Yeeppiiieee, 65k after 2nd bird, but Aaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhh, the piggie
in the middle was still there. 65k + 5k for the piggie + 20k for remaining birds = 90k.
But so, aarrgghhh, had to use 3rd bird for 81k.
@cheetaa that is the exact second method I use if the pillar doesn’t slide left all the way. The cart can nudge it into moving again. I also noticed while the pillar was at the very left end of its stone plank base. It was rocking on the edge. If the cart is intact, it will start racking up points as it slowly breaks the cart down. Best result I have had it when the pillar popped the wheel closest to it.
@amslimfordy, the @Taman user is back
’twas the day of the Challenge & we were all cranked
To hoax all those pigs
And increase our low ranks
But our hopes are dwindling
Our scores have all tanked
By the lack of movement of column & plank
Ham Selleck just sits there
Ann Romney in her Cad
By destabilization
We all have been had
Our brains are fuzzy
Our minds in a fog
Who can save us but
UNDERDOG
LOL – well done @duffy – that’s why you get Truffle Shuffle!
LoL @duffy!!! That was per genius!!! Nice score girly..guess you got all the “L” factor today my friend ;-)
@Angry Advisor – I did luck out and I deserve it. Just kidding! I have had a dry spell vis a vis the last few Challenges so this was very welcome. Thank you.
Not so fast @PLayDBird – As far as I know it hasn’t been awarded. But thank you, my friend. It’s so good to hear from you.
Hmm Idk about that…
@Duffy
Very well said
The headache is coming
I think its time for bed.
There will be a new challenge this we know for sure
So sleep we must have so we can endure.
@all have a great night
@scooter – Thanks. Very well said yourself. Endure is right! Soon will be time for the next endurance test. Sleep well, happy dreams.
Got 92640 with 1 bird. Often enough the front of the structure self collapse leaving a clear shot to the hollow square. Got lucky and one of the little stone got mr mustache.
This level is a pain to wait out. The plank doesn’t always topple, only get it very few times, and I messed up one of the shots.
What I found best to do was to reset the level without launching any bird. Like what others have stated above, the lack of stability of the level is what causes the imbalance of the stone plank. Whenever the level restarts, there is a slim chance the plank would topple/slide on its own without much effort. Then the first YB is flung at the unprotected TNT, with the second YB finishing off. I got an 80k score after about 20 resets, which seems like a pretty simple way to earn a decent score without waiting a lot :D
Good luck! :)
Easiest unstability exploit has I ever seen in the game (well, at least in first two episodes). Just zoom out, sit and wait 20-30 times for falling of the diagonal plank and then explode the tnt with 1st bird. Get 2-birdie 82k for 15 minutes, then sit another 30 and get 1-birdie 85k.
Did the same thing as in video. Except got the left piggies first and then did the tnt method above. got a score of 66690
@admins Yet another dubious top score!
@steviep147 not anymore. Thanks for notifying us.
@admins
