Mighty Hoax level 4-14 is difficult since your aim is constantly changing. The best strategy is to fire the first Yellow bird through the first three wooden blocks at the bottom of the level. Fire the first Blue bird head-on into the left side of the ice structure. Keeping the next Yellow bird low, pop the three remaining pigs in the lower part of the level. Another shot up high with the Blue bird, and the level is yours. The score in the video below is 89,870.
Version 2022:
This level has been my nemesis for the longest time.
Me, too, @sal9, me too.
I’m coming back to some of these old levels to see if I can improve my scores. This was one where I noticed my score is below average on the leaderboard. When I realized which level it was, I threw up in my mouth a little.
This is probably the level that I most dislike in all of the AB games.
You made me do a LOL. I did exactly the same for the same reason. It was definitely easier this time around, though.
I second luvtub’s lol, @DocTonyNYC. Boy, do I ever know THAT feeling! It’s good to know I’m not the only one. (-:
I never thought of going beneath the structure.
BTW it is possible to go through the wood in between the metal.
You’re right, @blahalb09. In fact, I think that is how I had always done this level until I returned to it today. Clearly, going in between the blocks is the hard way to do this. I suspect that the reason I always disliked this level was that I found that to be such a difficult shot.
One last tip: if you can the top blue bird (after splitting) to hit the glass triangle (mid to top of it), and the lowest blue to hit the middle of the first glass column, it is possible to push all of the glass over. This makes clean up much, much easier.
Also me. After a lot of tries I’m finally above average. A decent score, but now i cleared an insanely hard level to master wisely.
@Sal9: how did you manage to get your score?
I used the same method as the video, four birds but with a little more damage … no ice left on platform and most of the wooden blocks broken. It’s been a while, that’s how I remember it ;-)
That’s pretty much how it goes. You’ve got to keep yellows trajectory fairly flat, and then after splitting blue, the lowest of the three pops the pig, and the other two break the ice. This requires a good arcing shot at launch. Then, I got a nice surprise discovering that I’d rocketed up the leaderboard to third place on this level.
The first 2 shots are the keys for higher scores, @e-star. A 3-birder is possible here as the first Blue can clear all 4 pigs on the upper platform as @sydjumps & @caviar-101 mentioned below. It is debatable though as whether a less destruction 3-birder yields more points than it’s opposite 4-birder (as @sal9‘s result is still higher than mine LOL).
1. First Yellow just straight ahead, speeding upon release to have more consistent shots at the first 4 wooden objects at the bottom. Make sure all 3 left-most lower pigs killed and both makeshift pillars on top toppled.
2. Fully zoom in to see 3 tufts of grass below the closer Blue on the ground (the one which will never get its chance to show what it is made of IF we manage to pull off this next trickier shot). For PC users (sorry, i’m a PC user), put the tip of your pointer in aiming position at the base of the left-most of the 3. Again, split upon release so Jim will go straight at the left-most pig, Jake will hit the square glass on top of the left-most upper structure, pushing it down to kill the second pig, while Jay will smash the triangular glass on top of the middle structure, pushing some glasses down to the third pig below, rolling on top of the right-most horizontal glass plank and fall on top of the right-most pig. Whew, that was long…
3. Now, now, everyone can do this next shot, right? Seriously… :(
@birdjo
Thanks for advice of splitting 2BB upon a launch! Works fine )
I only changing aiming some to the right – to single “root” piece. In this case “Jim” hitting a 1st pig by backrolling from the ice cube and “Jake” and “Jay” do a little more effective trajetories.
Seems easy, right? Well, this is not the case.
1st shot is extremely rare to perform due to the narrow space that exists below glass.
2nd one can’t be done, unless the blues are potioned.
3rd one… read 1st shot to get a hint.
The odds of 3-star score are around 1/100, 90k are 1/1000, but that’s not all. 100k scores (possible) are 1/500000.
Is the version of the game or is just an lost-impossible top score? Answer in the comments
On the strength of your comments @beefans10, I went back and had a few flings and although I agree with the observation that this is a very hard level, I can’t really agree with your maths. I got 3 stars in about 20 tries (warming up!) and then hit 91k in less than 50 tries (most failures on first yellow bird). Difficult to project onto 100k but your odds are pretty extreme. I came close to doing in one less bird, so I wouldn’t quibble with 1 in 1000 seeing as it’s rare. I don’t think this one has changed with time (although Classics is much harder). My personal observations
Almost forgot, it’ll be for the best of many (old ones and newcomers alike) if we can have another @e-star‘s video walkthrough on this one… ;)
@birdjo. :D I will give it a shot using your description, but it means I have to open up ABO which I never did after the Power Ups update… But if I do I will make this level my priority ;)
Way to go, @e-star. There is no such thing as “complete walkthrough” without your alternate videos on this part of the site. No, the entire Nest won’t be the same without them… ;)
This level is driving me freaking crazy! 380 points shy of the 85000 threshold for three stars. Played close to 100 times now.
I achieved my score by using the same method in the video. Only difference is I was able to clear all three pigs with the first blue bird, which saved me from using another blue bird to clear the top platform off. The 10,000 bonus is worth more than clearing off the top platform completely.
To kill all three top pigs with one blue bird you have lob it somewhat so that the first pig on the left is taken out with of the split birds while the other two split birds hit the triangle on top which creates a push to kill the middle pig and push the far right pig over the edge.
I agree. It is possible to clear all 4 (not 3) top-level pigs using one blue bird shot, with each of the 3 split blue birds toppling parts of each of the 3 towers of glass (the left-most top-level pig rolls off the top when the left-most split blue bird bounces back onto it). I have done this several times, and the 10K bonus points for not having to use the second blue bird appears to be worth slightly more than clearing all the glass off the top platform, which I also have done by using a second blue bird. So I suggest as best strategy to clear the left-most 3 bottom-level pigs with the first yellow bird (including the 4 left-most wood blocks on the ground) for an intermediate score of about 22K, then a blue bird to clear all 4 top-level pigs for an intermediate score of about 51K, finally the second yellow bird to clear the right-most 3 bottom-level pigs for a final score of about 68K plus 30K bonus points = 98K.
Bascially the same method as AMslimfordy provided in the video. Added 1k; an increase in score is a good day.
Glad I managed to get 3* pretty quickly, but it’s not average. I may come back to it later.
Man I REALLY hated this level!! Took forever to get three stars and took longer to beat avg! Not even going to try for a higher score, just happy to be able to move on! Thx for the video, don’t know how much longer it would have taken to just get the 3 stars without you guys!!
I got 98540 with 3. First and third shot were not the best so I guess 3 bird is an option to break 100k
I think the maximum score possible is 110k, but that’s probably humanly impossible. I can’t believe I broke 100k…
Awfully difficult for me, only 1* after at least a 100 tries. I quit for now and may be come back later…
@peligator, keep trying just like the video. My only advice is to not try to directly hit the pig on the upper left with one of the split blue birds on the second shot – you will probably kill him with debris or with one of the split BBs as they roll around or on the 4th shot. It is better to damage as much glass on the top as possible with the 2nd bird. That damage will help the 4th bird to plow all the way through for a higher score. This episode requires 4 birds and each bird has its own job.
I should have said that this level required 4 birds for me — some of the high flyers in the nest can complete the level using only 3 birds.
This level is EASY!
Followed the walkthrough video with some minor tweaks. Scored 102,870 with 3 birds.
1st bird made it through 5 blocks (only time I got 5).
2nd bird killed all 4 pigs. Still decent amount of ice left.
3rd bird clean up remaining pigs on bottom level.
I took a screenshot of the score tally, but I cannot locate it. In lieu, following is a screen shot showing the high score at the level start: https://angrybir.de/2VrCbYT
@sweetp
@bswins can you replay the level & post a screenshot of the tally screen? Your high score will show on that.
No problem @karen68. I should have thought to do this yesterday. Thanks for the reminder. 😊

level sucks and 90k+ is amazing
Is it just me or has Chuck put on a bit of weight? Don’t think he can squeeze under the plank in Classics.
