After this update, all karts, characters and tracks you unlocked are removed. You start over, but all the karts that you purchased before are converted into gems, so it’s not totally starting from zero.

– IMPROVED CAMPAIGN MODE! The campaign gets a total overhaul.

Its not in Estonia yet.m
It’s looking good. Maybe it will push the game in the better way.
@mighty-red-1 10 energy instead of 5? That’s a bait or they really have doubled energy? Also, how much time it takes to regenerate 1 energy?
@mp127 I didn’t play much of this update because all my characters, maps and karts disappeared. I actually switched back to the previous version to keep my original progress. But I can tell you that the energy limit is not 10. This update includes an XP level, and the higher the XP level, the more energy you can have.
Well, that’s even more interesting. Basically we’re getting Angry Birds Go! 2 with original content.
@rowdypup How is 2nd page of racers looking? Maybe they’re saving spots for future updates? I would also like to see Senna again.
@mp127 If they are totally changing Go1, then they should probably add new characters while they are at it, like Chef Pig or Silver, and new tracks would also be a plus on the bucket list along with karts- so in other words- Go! has A LOT of catching up to do before it meets this generation’s standards :)
In what countrys is realesed update?
Unfortunately, I do not know.
how did you switch back to the other version?
You can’t
No it sucks
This update already came out 2 weeks ago (June 9th), so it isn’t new- but hey!- Go! was due for a major remake anyway, because after every update Rovio would tweak it a bit by removing/adding excess decorations and adding minor improvements, so I’m happy to see a app so little cared about finally be brought up to date :)
P.S. Where is Ayrton Senna? Rovio never said he would be a limited-time character, so what happened?
I wish I would have known about that warning before I updated :/
Of course, they won’t give you the warning… that’s their master plan, they don’t tell you they’re going to rob you blind. Rovio, you corporate thieves, this is the end, I refuse to buy anything from you again. Not even the Angry Birds Movie DVD. SHAMEFUL!
Judging from the images, good freaking update. Just amazing looking in general.
Honestly, I hope the data reset is intended. Seriously! The level 6 carts were weaker than level 4s (Which probably got fixed) and the overall data file of the game was massive. Hopefully the data file is much smaller now.
I don’t think the progress erasure is a bug. it’s intended. As long as the game works on my tablet, i’m fine with it
All I have is version 1.13.9 while there are reports in my country that version 2.0.23 is ruining their progress. Does this mean the update is available in select devices?
I have this update. And this is a drastic change. Here’s what is changed-
1. Your progress will reset, but don’t know if intentionally.
2. Getting karts is now easy. You don’t have to buy or use gems to unlock them. You will get these karts from specific levels as a prize (if you archive it’s star just like BP).
3. You can upgrade them by using parts. You can get it from toolboxes (that purple button) which need tickets to open it. And yes, tickets are also prizes and you can buy them too.
4. It has the XP system. You will get coins, gems, and increased energy if you level up.
5. This game now supports Chromecast. The game will show you how to setup.
6. All characters can be unlocked easily by beating them once instead of thrice, but you can only do it if you pass the previous levels.
6. Rovio news added just like in other games. Oh, and you may have to purchase coins or gems to use a power-up.
That’s all if this helps.
@mighty-red-1, @sahil-gagrai
All coins and gems earned before this update will delete too ?
No, all gems spent on karts r refunded, I currently have 9600 gems, but karts no longer need gems to be unlocked. Coins r also not needed nearly as much. This is a really good fresh update in my opinion, and will pave the way to way more new content in the future
Not really, bird coins are essential because you need to use them on each and every kart upgrade plus if you want to buy some rare kart parts otherwise impossible to progress in the game.
Bird coins are probably more more important than gems! And you start with very limited..
@grimmjow
Yes, everything
*whoops, meant to reply, sorry.
So Rovio erase data after some years to oblige us to buy again ?
With this method, Rovio take our money et delete our purchases.
And we should accept that ?
Actually the game is a little easier and n my opinion.
Since I had everything in my progress with every characters,
I want to just wait for a new “episode” update like subzero.
However, it’s not called episode anymore.
*in*
Whoa! This update will reset all progress?TERRIBLE UPDATE!
This suck we have to play from race one to the last one the old angry birds was not like that if you could grind the money you can do what every you want in atempts to make it stupid easy they made it tedious and boring
Are you seriously going to waste people’s money?!?!?!?! At least I don’t have the update!
@mighty-red-1 I recntly checked with Rovio Support about this and according to them, the progress reset IS intentionally, but Rovio will somehow compensate for your earlier progress as you update to the new version.
I still wish I ca still be able to keep certain content like.
Spooky Kart
Turkey Kart
Lucky Goat 888
Monkey Kart
Santa’s Sleigh
Xmas Kart Mk II
I’m not sure if Ayrton Senna Bird will be playable when the 2.0 update comes, but hopefully he won’t be lost.
I also hope Rovio will finally fix those issues with fading sound fx and voices after the game is updated, as well as making the game playable offline again.
And I really hope the game will still be playable on iPod Touch 6th Generations, too.
@mighty-red-1, @admins,
What are “Time booms” ? There is 5 news achievements GC.
I can’t get those 3 last karts in each theme so I’m sticked in 9-1 because my all karts available are a junk and I have nothing to do now
Me too, anyone has any explanation to that? How to unlock those karts which allow us to move on the game.. I can’t go through 9-X lvls as well…
me too…I even wonder if they have set special goals to achieve so that you can have access to unlock new kart…already 9.3, grade 17…Haven’t get new karts for ages..
Mmmmm cool
Very lame update. You keep coins and crystals, but you have to slog through everything again. Tracks are the same (so far), so they didn’t even update the one piece of content that would have made the game feel fresher.
Uninstalling.
Thanks,
sutekh137
@sutekh137 You know, I kinda felt that way at first, but once you get into the game, you’d be surprised at how many things are different and improved than the first version.
I support your decision, but you’re really missing out.
@partshade
I respect your opinion in all things AB, but I gotta disagree with you here. How far do I have to progress to see something new? I played 3/11 levels (five stages each) and there wasn’t a single thing new or unique about it. I burned through a TON of play bolts, watching every ad possible until it said there were no more. And I ended up dead-ended against the final race on level 3 to acquire blow-up bird (no, I don’t know all their names, sorry). No way I’d ever beat that, and no way to upgrade my cart by any straightforward means.
Daily races were junk, same thing every time, same stuff: obstacles, fruit splats, same tracks. I even got to the point where the rewards were simply gold coins, which are worthless without accompanying resources.
What is it I need to “get into” in order to see the potential? That’s not even getting into the fact that Rovio basically took a completed game, reset it, and called it an upgrade. Is any other company doing this? If so, can you tell me the name of the games so I can avoid them like the plague?
I’m not sure, but do you play Epic? If so, how would you feel if one day your progress in Epic were entirely reset — everything, including acquired gear and classes — and they just had you starting all the levels over under a new format/graphics? And then you found out all the levels were the same (you just had to slog through all of them again).
Would you?
Thanks,
sutekh137
You definitely have a point that there isn’t any new content, which most people would surely be angry about. But I guess what did it for me was just the fact that it revived the game a bit. It made me remember back when I first installed the app, and how much of a blast I had playing the chapters and seeing how awesome my kart looked after I fully upgraded it. The update made me feel all that again :). I’ll agree though that it’s a bummer that the app didn’t get anything truly new.
Ugh. That part of the game where you can hardly progress your karts at all. Completely agree with this. That could of been handled better by Rovio TBH.
The Daily Races. Yeah, they’re definitely repetitive, but it’s honestly one of the few ways to get anywhere in the game. What do you mean by “worthless without accompanying resources” though? At least you can use them to buy resources… Sparingly…
Won’t argue with this. Still though, freshness is all I need. Of course that’s just me. Completely understand why you’re disappointed.
In Epic’s case, yes I would be extremely mad (Because I have next to all lvl 50 set items :P), but Go OTOH just wasn’t a huge slog for me. I had almost every kart in the game fully upgraded, but it really didn’t really seem to take much effort. Instead, it kinda made me a busybody just because I had all these karts and not enough time to enjoy them all. Now that it reset, I can appreciate my karts a bit more.
We all have our opinions though, and I fully respect yours, as you do mine.
@partshade
Definite respect for you and your opinion, no doubt.
I don’t even have a reason to be angry, really, since it is a free game and I never spent any real currency. But what about the people who did? I guarantee the so-called reimbursement folks got didn’t cover the resources that a big spender would have put in. How do I know this? Because I had a ton of maxxed out Karts before, and now I have none. That was with spending half my crystals on toolboxes before I uninstalled the game.
And you said it with “sparingly”. Coins are only good for buying whatever resource is available in the daily deals. That’s why I said getting coins is somewhat worthless because the whole kart-building endeavor has been turned on its head.
My biggest worry is what sort of precedent this sets for Rovio games. As I mentioned before, is Epic next? Imagine someone who spent hundreds of dollars every time mastery increased having their entire team reset to nothing and resources converted to a less effective means of upgrading? That’s flat-out robbery.
Have any other freemium games from other publishers done this? Clash of Clans resetting all progress? Jetpack Joyride saying, “Look at what we just did! Gave you the chance to re-earn all those medals! Who-oo!” Game of War resetting everything even if you spent real cash on it?
Perhaps the most galling thing is the whole “We listened to your feedback, and…” Bull roar. Not one single person sent in feedback saying, “Hey Rovio, can you reset everything and change the whole game into a completely new one while not letting us ever access the old game again? Oh, and while you’re at it, convert everything I earned (either via tons of time or real cash) into resources that are far less effective at getting me back to where I was? Be sure not to change any tracks while you are at it, because I LOVE having to slog through the same old crap over and over again! kthnxbye!”
Nope, not a single person asked for that, I can assure you. What people probably asked most for were new characters and new tracks. Are there any new characters or tracks in the game? I didn’t see any and I was almost through the fourth (of eleven) stages.
Imagine if just 100,000 people spent $5 on this game (it has an estimated 50,000,000+ installs, so that seems like a conservative estimate). That’s half a million dollars. Now that money is effectively reset to zero. I’d advise every person who spent real money to print out their transaction log for what was spent and get together and see if anyone in the house is an attorney. Might this not have potential as a class action lawsuit?
Thanks,
sutekh137
Yeah, The compensation for the data erase was pretty pathetic…
Can’t imagine why this would happen to Epic TBH. There’s really no reason to make an Epic 2.0. Go OTOH sort of needed it IMO. Still though, that would be horrible if it did happen, since there’s so much more to invest in with Epic.
Not that I know of, but I hardly play any content from other companies.
This part sounded more like a rant (I love reading rants BTW :D), but I’ll agree that Rovio never listens to people. :P
I’d honestly love to know if they can be sued for this.
Overall, I’m really starting to see your side of things, and understand why you and so many others are disappointed. Still though, I was fine with the update but I think that’s just personal taste. :P
@partshade
I definitely see your point about Go! becoming dull. I was just going through the motions. But, to me, then the right thing to do is make a NEW game. Don’t just reset the version 1.0 product — make a brand new 2.0 product. That’s what they did with Star Wars and the original game, after all: they made SW2 and AB2. And those games actually had new content whereas Go! 2.0 has all the same old tracks.
It’s like Rovio wanted to drum up a lot of interest in a new game but didn’t want to go to the full work of making a brand new creation. That’s what I find exceedingly lame.
Thanks,
sutekh137
I am beyond angry. My son spends at least an hour a week playing this game we have probably spent at least $50.00 in gems to get him carts since this game came out probably a lot more than that and now all his carts are gone? What kind of BS is that? The amount of gems given does not come close to the amount spent to get carts in the first place. Horrible thing to do to children who spend time playing this game. What a ripoff.
Well he should get all of those gems back as I did, and since the game really hadn’t been updated with new content in a year, and new levels in 2 years I am very happy to get new content at the expense of previous content. This update opens up the option for much more new content in the future. You are free to your opinion, but overall I think this is one of the best updates by rovio as a company in several years.

Go was my favorite game because it was auto racing which I did many years ago. Then the game went bad and I stopped playing it and started ABT.
Played this new update and it is great. Like the changes made and the new game play. I do not care about my previous progress, coins or gems which I had a great amount when I quit and now glad they were able to convert them to something useful in the new update.
I appreciate the new update and all the great changes. It was due and time well spent.
@birdleader
Loved the video
Enthusiasm for the games, you got it
GO was my favorite and I missed it dearly, now it is back
Your an idiot wrw01 what do you mean its back its gotten so far that this is a bad remake now why more grinding for stuff
Thats why it sucks now wrw01 angry birds go is still not back is what you should say
Got to say I’m very disappointed that the tracks are all the same. It’s taken them years to push v. 2 and not a single new track? my biggest problem with the current version is that I got tired of the same tracks. Oh well. Probably not going to update for a while.
This is a remake and a bad one at that! Why do we have to play from start to end it makes it look like a generic app game it will take forever to get corporal pig now! WTF Rovio! What are you blizzard because I think your lying about reading are feedback and telling us what we want just like blizzard. Man why just why did you do what you did to make it more like angry birds well thats a stupid idea it looks cheap now you should make it so we can buy the characters we want or well make it like the old angry birds go if you can grind the money you can buy what you want if you wanted to do air after rocky-road you were able to here your not you just puked out races randomly its just terrible
Im really just mad that I have to grind more on the old angry birds go I could grind the money and I skipped sub-zero and air and went on to stunt then I just beat hal and I could get corporal pig I like him because he wears a helmet I allways like the helmet pigs but now I have to grind through almost the whole game why? Was pissing some people of also intentional
My son (age 7)!was dreadfully upset to learn of this update tonight and it broke he’s heart that all his game progress has been erased • no warning was given of the update, had their have been I could have pre warned him and avoided such distress. He asked me to ask if the original game will be available as “angry birds 1” so he can continue to enjoy it ? Thanks for your consideration
I Agree on Rovio Now I Had To save 1000 Blueprints for Corporal Pigs Campaign
I am learning the if you want to play Go on an iOS device, you have no choice but to update. I tried to play the original version on my iPad and I was told that a required update needed to be installed. It wouldn’t let me get any farther than that warning.
Oh well. I will slog on with the new version but I’ll be damned if I spend any money on this new, overly complicated version that has all the exact same tracks.
By the way, for the most part the update is getting awful reviews in the Apple App Store but I don’t think Rovio cares about that any more.
Awesome upgrade. However we should have an option of continuing 1.0 I was close to achieving 100% completion in all tracks I was at 75% on the final track when this hapenned. ?????
Lost all my coins 670000, don’t have all the tracks and cars and birds , Senna is gone ! Won’t be playing anymore and really annoyed as paid for coin doubler for myself and my kids and have nothing to show for it . You cannot charge for something and then take it away without refunding . Surely this is illegal?
Also I had completed all levels now have to start again , was hoping for a new level as I had plenty of coins , not a complete restart with none of my played for and paid for coins.
I noticed a new update today in Play Store, ver. 2.0.30. Anyone tried it and can tell what changes this bring? Thanks
Bug Fixes?
I did , seems alright. added some radios to watch for getting more energies. but still don’t know how to get new karts. 17th grade can’t pass 9-3…
I have noticed that some of the carts (mainly sub zero karts) are absolute garbage
Here is a list of reasons (according to my experiences):
1. They just randomly take damage from nothing( no, stone, wood, nor ice was involved).
2. Even with maxed out strength, they just take severe damage from small falls and other possibly minor things.
3. They break randomly, sending the driver flying.
4. Due to Reason 3, its near impossible to keep some real momentum. Because of this, Even the opponents are respawning like crazy, additionally, the cart repair power-up helps delay this, but most of the time, the cart breaks before the cart repair can do its thing.
5.On a slightly unrelated note, on the third sub-zero track, there are certain parts if your cart crashes/is destroyed, you will be teleported ahead of the other karts. (examples: the jump between the two mountains, the steep declining hill near the end of the track).
agree!
HELP… Haven’t got new high level forages…maybe since I reached level 10…recently the best karts is 136CC but now the race requires 170CC…I even wonder if they have set special goals to achieve so that you can have access to unlock new kart…already 9.3, grade 17.Anyone gets any ideas?
