Racers take your marks, get set and Angry Birds Go! is coming to app stores on December 11th, which is the 4th birthday of the original Angry Birds title and the 85th birthday of @BirdLeader! (I’m joking about his age of course, but being the youngest member of staff, I have that luxury. Love ya, BL!)
Rovio has announced that the app will be released for iOS, Android, Windows 8 Phone, and Blackberry 10. Please note that this is later than the release date of October 31st included on TELEPOD packaging.
Included in Rovio’s blog is the price: FREE! We expect — as is the current trend in nearly all apps nowadays — that in-app purchases will be available to upgrade your karts more quickly. However, you should be able to unlock most or all features via normal gameplay.
What’s unique about Angry Birds Go! compared to other kart-racing apps is that each character has a unique ability. Sure, in classics like Mario Kart, features such as speed, turning radius, and strength varied by character. But Angry Birds Go! goes beyond this, adding an actual unique, activatable ability to each character. For the birds, these mimic their “classic gameplay” abilities: Chuck rockets ahead, Stella protects herself in a bubble, etc. It will be interesting to see whether the Pork Side has any significant advantage or disadvantage over the birds.
Of course, you can expect AngryBirdsNest to keep you up-to-date on all news related to Angry Birds Go! as the countdown moves forward. If you can’t wait, look for the special “countdown app” coming to app stores at the end of the month, which will allow you to import your TELEPODs for a first look!
Also, keep an eye out for more updates in the nearer future!
This is the first time I think that 3D won’t make them look ugly.
This trailer make me remember back racing game that I play on TV console game.
I’m not a fan playing a racing game with sensor on mobile device, but I’ll give a try.
LOL the mechanic pig looks scary :P
Lots of colors in the game. That’s nice. Any idea if we will get scores or we just need to finish levels like bad piggies?
I think, only racing, with Time Trial. No Points.
So awesome! Can’t wait!
“unique, activatable abilities” are also from Mario Kart.
In fact, everything what we know about AB Go through this trailer was seen in Mario Kart before. So I’m a bit disappointed.
Really @chriss? Which version. The last I played was MK Wii and that didn’t exist.
In Mario Kart Double Dash, Yoshi can throw eggs, Mario has fireballs, Donkey Kong has giant bananas etc.
But I think this is the only game of the Mario Kart series which has (in addition to the normal items) character specific items.
By the way, I’m not disappointed about the game, it will be a great and fun game, for sure. I’m only a bit disappointed about the trailer, because what we see there so far is really similar to Mario Kart. But I’m sure that the game will have unique elements which we don’t know form Mario Kart.
Double Dash may be after my time ;) Good info!
Actually, Double Dash was on the Nintendo GameCube and came prior to MK Wii.
Ah, never owned a GameCube. That’d explain it.
In 3D? Well, i dont like this kind of game :/
Not in 3D (most mobile devices lack that ability). But the graphics will have “depth” and realism to it.
I was thinking the same thing! It has very similar graphics to that new Pitfall game.
Really? O.O If that’s not 3D I don’t know what is.
A serious things I need to ask,
Did the Piggies will try to steal the eggs when racing??
I just realized is this going to be MULTIPLAYER!??!?!?!
The 3D graphics… Mmh, i don’t know but is that a prototype ( BETA ) or is this the end version ( i know you all think that 3D is Perfect) but i think they should work a Bit on 3D images.I think it Could be better.
I were wrong i saw the Video in 240 p, so it was Really bad quality. I forgot this.
I am not a fan of accelerator powered games, so I hope there are buttons as an option. Still, I am excited for this title!
0:19 Who is that bird called hal? it dosn’t look like its boomerang bird. Maybe a new kind of bird.
@orangepower It’s the Boomerang Bird. See our glossary of characters.
Just searched in google. Thx anyway. Btw: do you like the new boomerang bird look?
Yes @orangepower, i do. But i only saw the new design of Hal twice on my Angry Birds lifetime. In this trailer and in the Angry Birds Coca-Cola short.
NVM, its the boomerang bird except that the bird have a new look. It looks cool.
I have very mixed feelings about this. Especially that 3D perspective. Will have to get used to it. Otherwise, I guess itlooks pretty fun :)
Bubbles is inflate
Stella is bubble
Red is homing from Red’s Mighty Feathers
Maybe if we are really lucky, they will now do a Halloween update for Angry Birds Seasons. I really like the Halloween updates. May have to play last years again for my entertainment. I am mentioning this considering the Angry Birds Go is now in December.
Cool game, but I hope this game won’t ruin Bad Piggies game since the gameplay is pretty close…
Anticipation of a new Angry Birds Game and also a new form of game play is great. Looking forward to its release and it appears to be great fun! The excitement of a new AB game is always wanted when compared to the alternatives the corporation can implement and present to the game players. Nice work Rovio on thinking outside the preverbal “box”.
This game is exactly what I have been waiting for from Rovio! The TOTALLY EPIG ANGRYMAZING CRAZY SMASHING ALL TERRAIN EXPLODING GAME OF ANGRY BIRDS GO!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t you think this is a little too much like mario kart 7, with the flying and everything?
Wait…. December 11th?? I thought the game would be released on Halloween.
It was held back for unknown reasons. Atleast I don’t know maybe @amslimfordy does.
@trainman2012 On the TELEPOD packaging, there was an asterisk next to the date saying it was subject to change. I suppose Rovio would rather distance this release a little from the SW2 release, and celebrate their birthday at the same time!
I guess that makes sense.
Maybe they decided to be awesome as usual and launch a Halloween season again this year :)
I like what I see so far. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think we get to steer the Karts. Our control is in selecting when to speed up, jump, fly over etc.. The ability to steer could be the deal breaker for me and how you even do that for a phone or iPad device is beyond me. The similarity to Mario Kart is not a problem for me. Nintendo has taken far too long to bring out a new Kart game so Rovio may just get some more of my dollars either through in app upgrades or maybe a Kart Telepod. I bought the telepods for ABSWII before downloading the game. This time I will be playing Angry Birds Go before I buy any Kart pods. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Star Wars telepods – I’m just not sure about the game play for AB Go.
Nice graphics, what a great way to bring memories back, Rovio. :)
At first I thought Bird Leader actually was 85… lol
This is going to be my favorite app ever! Hope it has multiplayer, because that would make it even better
I have already ordered telepods and can’t wait to try them in game. I am a bit disappionted that release date is later then on Telepod package but luckily I could try them in countdown application.
Do you think that Telepods would be as strong as fully upgraded carts or could be used only for bird swap like in Star Wars 2?
I just checked what I orderad and it turns I’d get 1 Red, 2 Bomb, 2 Blues, 2 Whites, 1 Yellow, Pink, Orange Mustache Pig and 3 Helmet Pigs. What do you guys do with duplicate telepods?
nice game new type of new levels more graphics more fun more power ups more….. thank you Rovio
The first time, from slingshots to racing with pigs.
Great Gameplay Trailer. Awesome Video. It looks better than Maril Kart :-)
@amslimfordy the game looks awesome…but I have a confusion for the abilities..is it that we could use the ability once per race or several times per race which literally depends upon the collecting up of coins..like we wud get to trigger the ability of the bird after collection of specific number of coins…
@rajpreetbgt I haven’t played the game yet, so I’m not sure. Even if I knew, I couldn’t tell ya.
I think that they charge up, and the upgrades change the charge time for the abilities, so yes, most likely they are not once per race.
Decemeber 11? It’s the Angry Birds birthday that day! It’ actually one week before my birthday, but OK!
Also, in the AB Go! Website, anybody else notices the Rovio Stars logo in a flag?
It’s one day before my birthday. Great present.
THANKS ROVIO!!!!!!!
