Walkthrough video and strategy for Angry Birds Friends on Facebook Rock in Rio Tournament Level 3 Week 70 which began the week of September 16th, 2013. Our non power-up strategy for this level is to aim yellow Bird towards the green balloons. With some luck, Yellow can slice through, and pop the balloons on the other side. The falling debris should clear all the pigs. The score in the video below is 108,170.

It all depends on just how much debris is left over.
I’ve used a second bird to clean it up, so I figure 117xxx is possible if you can one-bird it and have no debris leftover.
Fully Loaded Wingman….Aim for TNT, Impact point where the 2 thin spieces of stone meet. 116k!!
I’ve tried this strategy…only 111k.
Took several tries but 115020!
One birder no PU. yellow bird to the left top ballon. This one have to break ballon 1,2,3 go through the wood plank and break ballon 5. Everything will come down. 114k. If you aim to low you’ll break ballon 1,2,5,6 and you’ll have to clear with white bird you’ll get about 105k but also 3 stars.
Inspired by @traneric (see post above), I discovered this “no bird-brainer” that is actually quite fun to watch!
1-bird, no PU (except BQ sometimes comes in handy):
Aim bloated* YB on high arc to blue balloon under the guitar in the top center. YB will pop balloon, roll off platform to the right and pop the rightmost blue balloon. From there it sets off a slow motion chain reaction. With a little luck, everything will come down. If it gets “stuck,” try a BQ. It sometimes helps.
My favorite “episode” took almost a full minute! Fun to watch it all come down in slow motion :) Repeatable, but will probably require several attempts. No worries, though. You’re not using any PUs :) Enjoy!
*Note: a “bloated” bird means you don’t activate its power. In this case, a bloated YB means just let it go its own course without accelerating it.

wow the 3* seem to be a lot lower in this weeks tournament I have 99390 with 3 *
1-Bird No-PU’s 116K
Sling Yellow bird and accelerate ASAP. The aiming angle and the correct timing for accelerate is (really) ALL what it matters in this level. There is no need for PU’s escept you want to save time and waste your PU’s.

My bad… 114K is the score in the pic.
Out of interest i’ve just completely cleared the screen of everything 4 times, just to see what the highest score would be if you destroyed everything with 1 bird. I used all the birds every time and got 4 different scores!! lowest being 87,220 and the high of 87,450 which with 1 bird would equate to a 117K. So does it depend on how you destroy stuff and with what bird?? Mmmmm
It depends on what you hit, how it’s hit, and even what the debris hits on the way down. Notice that if you hit a stone wall on any given level, it won’t break the wall, but it will score some points. And if there’s a round stone that rolls down a hill, that will even accumulate points as it rolls, hitting the ground below it. So there is some variance on any given level due to the scoring mechanisms. :)
Stupot @f2sc Let’s dialogue privately. You’re on to something :) Ever noticed how you can score really well from 12am early Monday morning for about 24 hours until Tuesday, then again during the last few hours before midnight on Sundays? Hint: Rovio has it “rigged,” some of us suspect, to get you to buy more PUs during the week. Oops. Did I say that? Well, shut my mouth :)
By the way, I have a FB friend who got over 117k on this level–legit. He would prefer not to post on ABN for some reason.
Thanks guys :-) Think your right Muk @dseufert I’ve noticed this, Rovio are very clever at making money!! Can’t see how you can destroy everything with 1 bird though! Do you know how your friend did it?
@f2sc Stupot, my FB friend got 117060 on PC using a strat mentioned in some posts above. Aim loaded WM at corner where the two stone beams meet at an angle, just left of the TNT. To get 117k+, the entire field will probably be destroyed and clear of debris.
This method won’t work on an iPad because a loaded WM is just too powerful. It will blast through most everything with little damage and fly off to the right. I got my score of 115k+ on an iPad by lobbing a bloated YB into the top center blue balloon. As everything started to fall, I used BQ. I have a more detailed strat/post for iPad above.
BTW, my precious comment about Rovio and rigging is just suspicion. Makes sense. I would do it! But it’s just speculation out of frustration :) if it really bugged me that much, I would just quit altogether.
@dseufert I’ve tried the WM strat many times but had no joy on PC and can’t afford to through to many PU’s away. Got my high score on Android mobile using a boosted YB only, no PU’s. I think your comment is fair but like you say its only a suspicion! Would also like to say thanyou for all the time and effort you put into posting on here, you’re always a great help, cheers Muk :-)

I know what you mean about the PUs. Gets expensive. Like you and many others, I first “learn” the levels and get three stars on each before going back to improve scores by using PUs. @joaoryo lives in a time zone that allows him to post strats and videos usually before the rest of us wake up :) His videos are much appreciated as are @terribletom ‘s comments of affirmation or sometimes a different strat altogether. There are many other Nester-friends that post strats and comments regularly, too. They are all appreciated!

@f2sc, no. It depends on the launching point (x and y coordinates), which depend on resolution and zoom degree. We see a nice thing on screen, but it is all a mathematical formula. The best one I have found thus far is in the peak of the boomerang on the left, right on top of where the two X meet in the platform. 116K is a bit on the left middle, at least in my resolution.
@dseufert, see my explanation above. This is an easy way of testing: get wingman+ks+ slingscope. Select a pixel from which to launch. If you launch from the same pixel, you will always get the same score. Aim from a different pixel aiming at exactly the same place and the result will be different. In other words, for every point to hit where the pigs are, there are tens of possible launching points, all of which yield a different result (some higher, some lower). That is why the top players always talk about “finding the sweetspot” and ask about the resolution that used to achieve it. I just put this to practice when playing with @x-pogi last week and making videos. The only thing you need to do if you play in the same resolution is mark the right pixel in the same zoom level, and you will get exactly the same result. I thought this was common knowledge.
@congo How prophetic! I was just talking about this very same thing, that is, pixel by pixel, and screen resolutions, with a business-friend of mine who has built my PCs for the last 20+ years. I normally use my PC only for music-audio production (I am a semi-retired college music teacher and professional performer on MIDI keyboards). Until yesterday, I really didn’t even think to use my PC to play AB regularly. I usually prefer my iPad Mini for AB. My PC is optimized for audio production, not graphics, videos, or gaming. However, my PC-builder friend suggested I get an accelerated video-graphics card and plug the HDMI output into a 32-inch HD TV (which I just happen to have a spare at the moment :) He reminded me that the last PC he built for me (2-3 years ago?) is a quad-core I7 with 8gb RAM. “Oh, yeah.” Stupid me. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that sooner. Duh :) Thanks for the tip, Congo!

Try now above the right eye of the white bird on the right. A friend with 1366×768 resolution got full destruction and a bit more than 117K. I play with 1280×800 and cannot do it.
Stupot @f2sc I believe Joaoryo is in a Portuguese time zone, maybe the same zone as yours, or close? I’m in the Pacific Coast time zone in So. Cal. near the Mexican border, so I’m probably still in bed when you guys have first crack at the new week’s tournament :) I used to live in Hawaii on “aloha time,” which, in one sense, means we’re always behind the rest of the world :)
I learned something from @congo that improved my scores on PC (normally I play on an iPad). The screen resolution is really important for aiming precisely. So this morning I maxed out the screen resolution on my PC and immediately improved my scores by a few k on the first two levels before I got chased off our workstation by my wife :) Ask Congo for details on how to max screen resolution on your PC, if that’s what you use.

I was thinking about writing some special guide… but after few hundreds of attempts… Just send loaded wingman (PC only) into intersection of two stone beams and pray for your luck.. sometimes it works for 115+ scores
We now have a 119k as first in the board… intetesting because 117.7k is full destruction… another typo or the miracle of the shaking pigs? Cc @Birdleader
@congo, Yes, I agree!! Not too sure how a score of 119k is obtained. I got 117.3k, and had only 1 small damaged wood beam!! I now BQ does not work!!
