Walkthrough video and strategy for Angry Birds Friends on Facebook Tournament Level 3 Week 62 which began the week of July 22nd, 2013. Our non power-up strategy for this level is to drop an egg bomb on the first glass blocks. Then send the Bomb bird towards the right side. Finally, quickly drop another egg bomb on the largest pile of blocks for some added points. The score in the video below is 106,560.

104,000 is 2star, 106,000 is 3star
You can easily use three birds to get a higher score. For example:
1st bird almost straight ahead and drop the bomb just after that smiley.
2nd bird pretty much the same trajectory.
3rd bird just fling it and drop the bomb in the middle of everything and you’ll usually end up with a score over 110k :D

BTW, I really like this week’s levels, especially the canons — they’re fun!
Here’s a tip that got me a higher score: lob BB in a high arc so he really plows into the ice cubes and does a lot of damage when you explode him.
I used @Lisko‘s technique for the first and third birds.
Playing on an iPad, the best score so far: no power ups, three birds, only a few glass blocks left, and 104,000. Seems like a setup to force some of us to use/purchase power ups? After watching this video (made on a Mac, I’m pretty certain) I just laughed. The first White Bird egg drop does 50% more damage than I’ve been able to get, and the third one does easily double what I’ve witnessed. I even lofted Black Bird so that he dropped all the through the ice to the bottom of the pit. Compared to my no-power-up attempts on the iPad app, this video makes it appear power ups were used to achieve the results even though its clear they were not. My guess is that anyone saying this is an easy level is either using power ups or is playing on Facebook not on an iOS version app. Aloha.

Hi @surfcow, I too am playing this on an iPad without power ups & found it pretty difficult to 3*… in fact I had to come peek at the walkthrough. I’ve yet to post any Friends scores because of PUs, but I did manage 107260 with 2 birds. This is far……from easy & involves lots of “L” when not using PUs.
While I never got over 35k with WB egg drop, I did get a few 30k & many 29k. For me the key to these was to aim very low & drop the egg more in the middle than on the left as in the video. As for 2nd shot, it was a high arc just barely to the right of center & wasn’t quite all the way down. I don’t remember whether it exploded its own or if I initiated the explosion. I was quite relieved when I got my 3* . As to the scoring when using the 3rd bird, with earlier tries I found it rarely scored more than 10k, but occasionally I did get more than 12k-13k, so it is possible, but certainly not the norm in my experience.
I’m having the same problem on my Kindle Fire. I can fling my birds into the exact same spot as in the video,same trajectory and all, and have never seen those results. Best score 104,200
105k is 3 stars.
SIMILAR to video with one exception. when firing bomb bird, fling nearly straight up. I consistently get 111 to 115k this way.

Yes, with high arc the results are better. Got 116,210 itself.
I’m not able to get your results. I don’t suppose you have a video? I must not be getting the right arc on the first bird, or am dropping the egg in the wrong place.
No high arc on Matilda, just straight across dropping her egg bomb right in the middle. Then arc the Bomb Bird high to drop it in the crater created by Matilda, waiting for it to settle to the bottom before detination. Then finish up the remaining ice blocks with the next Matilda. Consistent 115K plus.
Using a tablet, no matter what I did, could not exceed 100K. First turn on laptop, using same strategy got 111k. Is very frustrating when different devices yield different scores.
I am playing on an iPad and I too found it is extremely difficult to 3-star this level. I was able to 3-star it using all four birds. And after that, I even managed to get 110k (again, with all birds). My strategy is to send the first bird in a high arc to drop the egg very low somewhere between the left side and the middle. Then the black bird in a high arc into the bottom of the pit. Then the next white bird flat and drop the egg on the left side. Terence high up, it lands on the right side and finishes the remaining ice blocks. On my best try that gave me 110k only three ice blocks remained on the bottom.
Used all birds without power-ups.

When ice splashes in the second birds too much, a score does not rise as expected.
It was a very difficult level.
On an iPad mini:
WM+SS on a medium lob into pit. Take out the first yellow happy face along the way. All pigs should be gone. Score should be well into the 90k range. Aim BB on a very steep arc to land in the middle of the pit and take out most remaining ice. Shoot this second bird rather quickly before the level times out.

iPad user here – I came here looking for help because I couldn’t break 100. When I watched the video it seemed like the glass pieces reacted all-in-all differently than my plays. Took advice of everyone above When I finally got 3 * I was trying something new – I sent first WB low arc over to the right instead of left. Then did tight high lob of BB to left. Seems like keeping cubes inside when destroying them helps. I put 2nd WB inside of the container – I don’t remember exact shot but I know I had been aiming for the low points of any piles as a strategy. Last bird Big Red finally sliced through the remaining glass in a wonderful way. I think the angle of the last bird has to come in low over the left wall to slice correctly, but that might be because of the location/angle of remaining cubes. Good luck iPad users!
3-star strategy – no power ups. On an iPad mini:
Dig a hole…
1) medium lob into pit. Drop egg-bomb on first piglet. Should take out happy face, or at least blow him off his perch. Score after first bird should be at least 28k;
2) very steep arc almost straight up. Launch bird into hole created by first bird. Should go all the way down or close to it. Let it explode on its own. Score after second bird should be at least 75k;
3) on a steep arc, lob bird into lowest part of the hole created by first two birds, and drop the egg-bomb at the last second. With a little luck, the spent bird will ricochet off the right wall and bounce back into the pit taking out more ice. Score after third bird should be at least 90k. (Of course, if your score is 95k or more, then stop. You already have 3-stars with one bird left in the quiver);
4) mild lob into pit. Aim Terrence so that he barely clears the top of the left wall. Should glance off of right wall and take out enough remaining ice for a score of 105k+, which is 3-stars.
With a little practice, you can probably get 3-stars in 33-50% of attempts. Happy flinging! –muK :)
By the way, my posted score is WITH power ups, in case you were wondering. My best score without PUs was in the 106-109k range. 105k is the cutoff for 3-stars.
