Boo! And a happy early Halloween to all of you! Week 75 of the Angry Birds Friends Tournament has ended early, replaced by a special Halloween tournament and the return of the Zombie Pig! These scary swine return from the dead after being popped, and you’ll have to pop them again — but at least you earn another 5,000 points for doing so.
Also included is a plethora of Power Up deals:
- 1-Week Unlimited Power Ups: Purchase now and have infinite Power Ups for the remainder of this week’s tournament! The cost is $0.99 for an individual PU, $1.99 for Wingman, or $3.99 for all bundled together (including Wingman).
- Special Slingshots: There are five slingshots to chose from, and we outline their costs below. These slingshots will last forevermore (as in, they won’t expire when Halloween is over). There are three “basic” slingshot upgrades: Wood Chipper, Stone Crusher, and Glass Smasher. These do additional damage to their specified element and cost 1,950 bird coins. The Golden Slingshot costs $4.99 and does additional damage to all elements… But if you want to go that route, we might recommend the Wishbone, which is a special Halloween version of the Golden Slingshot.
- Oh, and did we mention? There will be three weeks worth of Halloween Tournaments, with six levels each! The last week will begin on November 4th.
- Timed Level Unlock: It seems that levels will unlock daily, similar to Advent calendars or the Star Wars tournament on Facebook. Level 1 will be available Monday, Level 2 on Tuesday, etc. You can, however, jump these time restrictions for a small fee of 25 bird coins.
Our walkthroughs are live for this week’s tournament, as is our leaderboard! Remember that scores obtained using Power Ups are permitted on our Tournament leaderboards, but please submit strategies that mention which Power Ups were used.

@joeyba I agree. I finally bit the bullet and downloaded ABF yesterday. (I play without logging in because I don’t like FaceBook).
The levels are fun, and I had a chance to play the previous tournament yesterday.
I had no idea that the ABF levels disappear. I thought it was a game like the other AB games. I didn’t know that you wouldn’t be able to play them forever.
It seems like such a waste for all these fun levels to just disappear forever.
I’ve got a puzzle game app that is just a diffrent puzzle-a-day but you can buy the archives. Rovio should do something like that. Have the free tournament then have the previous levels available for purchase. Maybe separated into yearly packages.
@joeyba – Last year there was a thread predicting which AB game would be the first to see its demise. I predicted “Seasons” since the other games have far more revenue opportunities or are legacy/introductory (ABOriginal). From today’s release it’s obvious Rovio thinks the same way. Sad, but it is what it is.
The new sling shots are stupid. The Surf & Turf and Pigini Beach leaderboards will completely change now..
So, my son was playing he first board this morning (after I had already done the three open levels) and he says “Dad, I beat it! I beat your score!” So I look, and he KILLED my score. I tried playing and as soon as the board started, everything was shaking like I had used an Earthquake, even though I don’t have any.
Well, I tried the other boards and sure enough, all the boards except 6 had the same glitch! My current cummulative score is 1,080,260!

The previous tournament was only there for 2 days? And the Halloween tournament has already three levels open? Then I think it was a mistake that the Halloween tournament started on Wednesday.
It keeps crashing Down while loading on my iPod touch 4. I tried closing it, reinstalling it and restarting the device, but nothing worked…
Same exact thing on my iPod Touch 4. Starts to open, then crashes every time. Works on my iPad just fine. Weird…
Crashes on my iPad. Tried deleting and reinstalling, but will only load about 1/2 way before it crashes.
After the Halloween update the app crashes my original iPad (1) which is stuck on iOs 5. My mini iPad is working fine on iOs 6. Anyone else seeing this?
No, I also got iOS 6 on my iPod and still it crashes.
Just downloaded on my ipod 4 with the same issue. Is there a fix?
I’ve reported the problem to Rovio, and they assure me (!) that they are aware of, and working on, a solution.

Unfortunately we have found that older iOS devices such as the original iPad and the 4th generation iPod Touch are experiencing memory issues when trying to open Angry Birds Friends. This is something that we are investigating, and as such this may be due to the increased amount of graphics in the Halloween tournament levels. If you are not using one of these older iOS devices, please get back to us with the device model and iOS version. Additionally you can try rebooting your device.
It may be that we will have to stop supporting Angry Birds Friends on the original iPad and 4th generation iPod Touch in the future. However, there will still be the possibility of playing on a Mac or Windows PC through Facebook. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of not being able to play Angry Birds Friends on your device at this time.

We have made this change to ensure that we can maintain the high quality of Angry Birds Friends and keep making it even better and more fun! iPad 1st and iPod 4th generations do not unfortunately meet the technical requirements of the mentioned game anymore, and poor or degrading performance and game-play glitches would most likely occur on these devices. We want to keep offering our players top-quality entertainment that is as enjoyable as possible, which is why we needed to make this change. We hope you will have a chance to play Angry Birds Friends via Facebook on PC or Mac.

Man, those wallpapers look awesome! :D The Halloween tournament and theme song are also pretty awesome as well. :P I especially like the new slingshots, but the one thing I find strange is the fact the Golden Slingshot/Wishbone costs less than the amount of cash I’d need to give up to get enough Bird Coins to buy the basic ones.
“Shuffle and Spawn” is my new favorite Angry Birds song. :P

I play Angry Birds Friends on Facebook on my laptop. OS windows 7. My game is lagging really bad. It has never lagged before the Halloween tournaments came out. Trying to use the white bird is useless. It never drops an egg. It just slams into something off screen. It is extremely hard to play.
Please fix this. I love Angry Bird Friends on Facebook.
Hi Lynn, you would have to contact Rovio about such issues. It sounds to me like your video card drivers may be out of date, as a Win7 computer should have the power and RAM to run the app properly.
That’s what I thought. I wonder how I might update video card drivers?

Hey slim. Any news of the annual update for Angry birds seasons Halloween? I noticed the updates were very slim this year for seasons.
Halloween will not be celebrated in ABS this year.
