Was able to make a quick pass through the 10 levels, before Rovio’s problems with their FB link. May follow up on a few levels if/when the correction is made???

Now it is over 24 hours for the outage.
Having just recently started with ABFriends, I used the Facebook save option from old habits. With less than a month of progress invested, I have no issue switching to Apple. Any comparative advantages/disadvantages to Apple over Facebook? I do find the Facebook link worrisome, with

This seems to be similar to a problem that I’ve been having when I try to play AB Pop. I’ve been unable to play Pop for the last 3 weeks, so I hope that’s not a sign of how long Friends will be down.
That’s strange. I use my Apple ID for AB POP and it works fine for me. Is the issue still happening?
@chickenloveryt Yes, the issue is still unresolved. I’ve seen messages on a public Facebook group for Pop that many are having this same issue who use Facebook to keep their progress.
Damn. I never knew about that until now.
It keeps saying server error. For hours . Every time I try. What do I do to fix?
Currently, there’s nothing the players can do but wait for Rovio to fix the issue.
I believe it’s an error with the Facebook API servers, but i’m not really that sure.
When I tap the FB connect button, Facebook says app developer is aware & we can log in after the app dev fixes there problem.
BUT FB + Rovio IMO = 1 big screwup that may last for a day or 2 or never be fixed.

Same. Unfortunately, the issues are still ongoing for me and I believe they only added the Apple progress saver option around 2019, but I started playing back in 2016.
I can confirm that one of the AB Friends developers “akko” on the Rovio Gaming Discord server confirmed it was “a issue caused by Meta affecting the game”.

I believe they used Apple to save their player data instead of Facebook. I use the Apple option for AB POP, another Facebook ran game and it works fine for me.
Can’t log in why been playing it years .
There is an issue with the Meta (formally Facebook) API, so the game can’t update user-saved data. It should be back online in a day or two though.
Just download from AppStore and no connection to FB and others. I guess FB is the problem.

Still can’t connect to FB, so my purchased slingshots are lost.
I guess you can use Apple to sign in instead of FB. However, it does say that you can’t go back to FB after you do this, so either way, I will have lost the slingshots.
You can play the game without FB, but why? It appears that my power ups are OK. This smells to me more like a corporate business decision than a programming issue. It won’t be the first time Rovio has dumped a game without notice just after I had made a sizable purchase of power ups. Can’t imagine that they are really going to send players adequate compensation even if they do get the FB problem fixed.
Also just noticed that I’ve been dumped back in the first league, so some of the slingshots are locked. Forget it Rovio! Not worth playing with all my progress and slingshots lost.
I guess I didn’t look closely enough and logged in with Apple and am playing again. I hadn’t earned anything so for me all I lost was 3 weeks progress. Even now, this is starting to feel a bit like AB2 which required more effort and spending to play than I thought it was worth.it may be time to go back to reviewing scores in rhe core games.

I am thinking about removing your entered scores for this tournament. The three of you have entered scores. i think it’s not fair in relation to players that didn’t had the chance to enter their scores or even play every level. What do you think?
You can make my scores all 100,000, if you like. I would like to keep my levels completed on angry birds friends 2002 . But, since you are the one in charge, I have no say in what decision you make.

Someone sent a message through angry birds saying one of my scores was off. I looked and I am number 3 in all scores.

I removed the already entered scores, as it would not be fair to count this tournament in the year-2022 table.

@bernersenn I will continue to enter my scores as I also did for this and the next tournament, but have no issue with them being removed if others continue to be locked out. It seems a bit pointless if I am the only one entering scores, but I just assume that eventually access will be restored and other scores will appear.
