Happy Birthday Angry Birds! The Angry Birds “Birdday Party” update (v2.0.0) is now available for iOS, Mac, PC, Nokia, and Android via the Android Market and Amazon AppStore. This update — which Rovio announced a few days ago — celebrates the two year anniversary of Angry Birds! And coincidentally, we also wish a very happy birthday to Bird Leader as well (who is just a wee bit older than 2)!

Notice to all users: An update numbered v2.0.2 is making its way around and includes several bug fixes. It has thus far landed for all platforms, I beleive (Mac, PC, Nokia, iOS, and both Android ports). These improvements include: Fixing the “Scores Ending in 9” bug, Golden Egg #1 missing from Mac/PC, trackpad sensitivity issues on Mac, Facebook levels being permanently locked, and more.
This update includes:
- 15 new levels, some of which are very challenging. We have video walkthroughs available if you need help.
- A secret achievement that is a bit challenging to unlock (video walkthrough).
- One more Golden Egg, which is revealed in our Complete Golden Eggs guide.
- Big change to the Golden Egg levels, to achieve the star you now have to surpass a minimum score, much like a normal level.
- The Orange/Globe Bird is now available.
- A brand new pause screen that is being dubbed the, “Rovio Channel”. Note: There seems to be no way of disabling this, which I know many will find a bit frustrating.
- New “Level Completed/Failed” screen that is quite similar to the one seen in Rio.
- One of the pause menu items shows a map of New York with the words “Coming Soon”… Interesting, at least.
Rovio has said, “It’s a cool new feature we’ll be experimenting with in the future”. - Pro Tip! Birthday Cakes are worth 3000 points!

Hey nice update. I actually like the new graphics even though the original was better. Also, in Crystal Achievements in the game, it says something about “Aquiline Benefactor” (Unlock a new bird type), what could this mean. Maybe it’s the orange bird, though I doubt it. Hmmm.
aquiline benefactor is the mighty eagle :)

…..and as soon as I say that…..Bingo! 3 stars :)
I noticed that the familiar cheering sound the birds make at the start of each level doesnt appear when you restart a level just a few seconds ago which is quite nice ;)
Edit: It did happen to me when I’m stuck on a level for so long that I had to restart the level x number of times…

Thus, 75,000 is the 3 star threshhold.

You should update that 18-6 is where the golden egg is and 18-5 has a hidden cake achievement.
18-5 or 18-15?
18-15 has a special cake (on the bottom platform/floor). A few post above someone explains hows to get it, it’s a bit tricky.

Yeah It’s been a while since AB got a update. The last time ABO had an update was late summer/The last chapter of Dime & Dine
well rovio did have quite a lot to do since the last chapter of mine and dine, with seasons updates, mighty eagle added to seasons and rio, and rio updates. i think they wanted to give us something small like this for abo to kind of let us know they hadnt forgotten about it, theyve just been busy.

On G+ there is a college championship happening today!
Not sure if it is just me but the golden eggs number 5 and 6 levels which i had stars in no longer have stars. is this some kind of glitch, any one else have that happen?
There is now a minimum score required to obtain a star on a GE level. Per the post:

i think that it is possible to appear as soon as they find a solution with the achievement points problem .. same for the 3 star achievement
I like the look of the new splash screen, it looks very nice. I hope the PC and android versions aren’t too far behind. I think the Rio type scoring will be good; I like it better than the original way- it makes it easier to discover the 3 star scores. It is amazing how far this game has come in just two years, isn’t it? Happy Birdday AB and Happy Birthday to Bird Leader!
I have to say I like the new pause screen. It’s much nicer than the old adds that we’re hard to scroll down on and too easy to accedently tap. The thing I’m not too crazy about is the elimination of the teal-yellow color scheme… I liked the old style better!
some of the levels are pretty tough! I like it! quite the struggle to 3 star this episode! happy birdday!
I know what the achievement is! Sorry to anyone who had said it already, but on the last level, get the TNT way on the right, then the chest on the way left, then the TNT that’s under the arc, you get a piece of “Secret Cake” and an achievement. Not sure what it does exactly

Why only 1 achievement? There should be 5 achievements:
– finish all levels
– 3 star all levels
– break 300 cakes
– unlock orange bird
– score addict

There is nothing to explain. I just said what I expect from a new episode. I am addicted to achievements! :-)
That’s why I’m disappointed that there is only one and not 5 achievements.

I told you days ago that there was only 1 achievement, and explained why. Your disappointment should not have been a surprise…
I think you are confusing me with somebody. I never knew that achievements are limited. It’s the first time now that I’m hearing about this.
Maybe they’ll make achievements 5 points instead of 10. Then they could have more. You’d lose game center points for a while, but does anyone actually care about that?
I think what Chris is saying is that he is not seeking or expecting any explanations. He is just saying that he feels that there ought to be achievements for completing Happy Birdday and getting 3 stars on all the levels in that episode (which I agree with). He is not disappointed in the sense that he is surprised, but that he would like more.

Here’s an odd “bug”… I got a final score not ending in 0. Then checking back on the level it’s rounded it up correctly.
