Higher scores are achievable with a one-birder. The purple bird can drop the asteroid, while still reaching Hektor Porko. I got 77,590 points, with more available!

To do it, fire the purple bird so that, when the boulder is the most to the left and starts going back to right, he is roughly above the boulder. Redirect downwards to lightly hit the boulder’s “back”, that is, its left region.

Since you hit the stone lightly, the bird will have enough speed to go deep into the water and pop Hektor Porko! (Bonus points if you get the vegetation and the plank where Hektor sits, which I couldn’t for my current score; also, it seems impossible to open the red clam with this strat.)

Meanwhile, the boulder falls onto the submarine… It needs to pop all pigs there, but this is difficult. The chains seem to yield many points, just like some other blocks the asteroid might crush. It can happen by @snoid‘s “leftwards vector”, if the boulder hits the rightmost pig’s cage and rolls to the left, standing on the chains long enough to pop the falling pigs, then crushing the chains. Though it may also work if the right stone slab crushes the pigs down there… Skilled/equipped flingers might refine this strat to make it easier or score-wise better. There are various possibilities for timing/angles and resulting boulder movement.
