Opening friendship gates?

    Am I the only confused by friendship gates? I used coins to open up a gate and it worked. Now I’m at another gate and trying to use my friends. I requested help, and have active friends, but no one is showing up as assisting me.

    I also can’t figure out how to help others open their gates. I have several requests sitting in my mailbox, but they just have a check next to them. I haven’t found a way to check their friendship gates at all, so I’m not sure why the message is checked as completed. I can’t figure out how to deal with the “asks for Friendship Essence” message either.

    I read that thread previously, but I don’t believe it answers my question. Perhaps I can clarify.

    My mailbox has a number of messages from friends, all of which are marked with a check. If a message is asking for help with a gate, how do I actually manage to help unlock the gate? I can’t find a way to click the message to do so, nor can I find anything on their Nest page.

    You need to click on that check mark to clear the message and answer their request.

    I had been trying that, but the check mark did not clear the messages as expected.
