Rovio Soft Launches a Brand New Game “Party Monsters” in Select Countries + First Look

Rovio has just soft-launched a brand new game called “Party Monsters”. This brand new game is only available on iOS in select countries right now (Australia, New Zealand and Sweden), but is expected to be released worldwide once the testing phase is over. The Party Monsters come through with a unique combination of matching and tower defense … very interesting mashup!

From the Apptore:

The neighborhood has been infiltrated by CREEPY MONSTERS – but it’s cool, they just want to party! However, the townspeople are not taking kindly to the surging bass radiating from underground, and they’ll try to stop the party at all costs. That’s where you come in – help the Party Monsters keep the beat alive by matching items and protecting their monster DJ from endless waves of the bellyaching Party Poopers!

Things We Know

  • There are no birds!
  • The Game takes place in suburbia.
  • Match 3 or more with a barrel to create Monsters.
  • Match 3 or more with monsters to give them more power and level up.
  • Defend the DJ in a Tower Defense type battle.

We’ve downloaded Party Monsters, but since we haven’t had a chance to play much yet we’ve included a bunch of info from iTunes below. We’ll be working on a first look straight away.

Create Monsters:
Combine items with toxic waste and you’ve created a monster! Conjure unique Party Monsters – each with their own special ability. Blood Bat covers a wide area with his attack, Skelly throws some mean punches at close range, and Frankie lights up the Party Poopers with a mid-range lightning attack!

Defend The DJ & STOP The Haters:
Haters gon’ hate and party poopers gon’ – well, you get it. Place Party Monsters strategically to keep the Party Poopers at bay. Let them get to the DJ and it’s a HUGE party foul, but stop them in their tracks and live to party another day!

MATCH & POWER UP:
Match the monsters’ favorite items to give them more attack power against the Party Poopers. More is more!

Break some Balls:
Little known fact: disco balls are full of valuable items! Break them open every day for that sweet sweet loot.

Collect and Upgrade:
Rescue more friendly monsters from the Party Poopers. Then, collect monster cards and use them to upgrade your monsters – making them harder, better, faster, stronger!

It’s also important to note that Party Monsters requires iOS 7.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

We will continue bringing you more details as we start playing the game. Now it’s your turn to let us know what you think by leaving a comment below.

Last, but certainly not least, a BIG thanks to @mighty-red-1 for the awesome first look video.

It think Rovio is looking for one that will really take off. Like Candy Crush. Hence the fact that a lot of these games are abandoned quite quickly if they are not succesfull enough. I like the Skakira game though.

I LOVE this game and I’m totally addicted. I wish it were easier to win coins, and I wish I had more than 3 lives, but it’s great!

I definitely experienced in my own instinct that there is an extremely robust likelihood he was
not folding.
