Our strategy for Poached Eggs level 3-1 is to fire the Red bird into the TNT in the top-left of the level. The trick is to have the bird hit the corner of the platform there, causing him to bounce into the middle of the level and clear a path for the stones. This is an easy level to clear, but very difficult to earn 3 stars. The score in the video below is 65,640.
Version 2022:
I found it easier to toss the red bird in a high arc, so when it hits the TNT, it helps eliminate the hard to pop pigs.
I also found this to be easier. It takes awhile to find the right angle, but when done the point are more than 66,000

The walkthrough above, no matter how I throw the first red bird, does not play out that way, there’s always one big pig left at the bottom. (iPhone version) Why?
This took many tries. Small variations can yield very different results.
Following high scores analysis from myself:
1.) Must be a one birder
2.) TNT must be hit from top somewhere in the first trird area from left corner
3.) Bird must help to take out pig(s)
4.) Luck
Using the video method, it’s almost as if you have to find the right angle to both strike, and to a certain extent, “undercut” it at the same time.
That might not be the correct word to describe the shot, but it seems close, if a bit contradictory.
I seem to have hit a wall on the Facebook version. I have 65k+ on the iPhone, iPad and iTouch but cannot break 62,200 on Facebook. It plays as though the physics have changed. Birds fly off of TNT more and Rocks barely more.
ok ive tried every way and cant get the first stone to hit the boulder i can getem all in one shot but if the stone dosnt hit the boulder it dosnt set off the far tnt and i dont get enough points to get 3 stars ugg its the last lvl i need to 3 star and its driving e crazy

It does take many tries and lots of patience.

I AM HATING THIS LEVEL!!! I have tried every suggestion.. every youtube video and NOTHING is working. This is not fun anymore.
Same her I’ve tried hundreds of times and can’t do it in one bird only two. Plus my highest is 60000
I was just about to give up. Then I tried flinging the bird high, just landing on the left corner of the tnt and it worked. Score 65570
66530 with 1 bird using the high arc method. 500 tries like in the video got 1 possible but the red bird missed the rock on the way down.
Trying to improve on my older scores. When this level opened, I groaned. It’s just one of those “keep trying” levels. Hang in there, you’ll get it. (-:

OK. So I do not like to cheat with walk throughs but this level just ticked me off. After trying all the above, nothing worked. however, I zoomed all the way in and tryed flinging it then and I got completely different results. Eventually I got it. So try different zoom levels. That being said, that is a stupid solution. I noticed that physics were different and that shouldnt be the case. If this is a bug, please fix!!!! My nerves can’t handle much more!!!
I’m not sure if there’s any gameplay differences depending on zoom levels. I haven’t heard of anything beyond personal preferences for zooms.
@AMslimfordy: The physics for this level are definitely inconsistent with the rest on the episode, not because of the zoom. I have noticed several cases where the boulders and Red do not roll as expected, and Red was left literally cliff hanging and popped out, instead of rolling off to take out the pig below.
If the rolls worked as they should, one should be able to get 63k on a 2-birder. 62240 was the best 2-birder I got until I finally got the lucky 1-bird bounce, and finally perfected the episode.

Okay, i might be as much as putting a huge burden on my shoulders when targeting 70k. 66k will suffice for the time being though. Here are the key points :
1. High-arcing the shot is vital (@kartflyer).
2. A big possibility that a 1-birder is a must for 3 star (@emider).
3. The small stone beside top-left TNT holds the key for higher scores.
I was closing down on 72k several times but was run out of luck each time (1 injured pig remained with huge boulder stopped just next to it).
Some descriptions for my sessions :
1. High-arc shot to somewhere in the top-left portion of the TNT (as of @emider‘s strat).
2. The TNT exploded, pushing the small stone to the right.
3. The stone hit the boulder on the sloppy platform, then bounce back to the left.
4. The bird’s follow through in the mean time will “hold” the stone on it’s way back so it’ll fall rather straight to the top-right portion of the middle TNT.
5. The stone will bounce up, hitting the bottom of the sloppy platform, bounce (again) to the right, hitting the right-most TNT.
6. The (very) stone or the one beside the right-most TNT (or both) will fly across the screen to hit the left-most structure. Now, that’s where all the “extra points” came from… :D
It’ll be great if someone can confirm this… :)

Birdjo, I think your description is the key to getting anything much more than 66K. I have gotten a bunch of 1-birders using the high arc strat, but I can’t for the life of me get significant damage to the stack on the left. Like you said, that’s where the points are. Otherwise, it is very difficult breaking the top 500 in the rankings. Obviously, a lot of folks have managed to get the stack. But not me…yet.
Upon further review, I can get everything on your list to happen except #6. The boulder doesn’t fly over that high…it hits the boulder at the bottom.

I’ve been grinding on the Facebook version for days and can’t get more than a 2-star score. All the large stones except one get knocked outside of the pig area. All the damage has to be done by the smaller stones and there just aren’t enough of them. It’s all I need to finish off Facebook Poached Eggs and it’s driving me nuts. I don’t remember having this much trouble playing the original.
The charm of posting a rant and just like that, the problem is solved. This forum has many uses, it’s magical ability to improve your score is just one of them.
I played this game last year on my Barnes&Noble Nook. It took me two days to get the three stars. So when I came to it on my PC, I almost just gave up before I began. My first play was to shoot the first bird up to the TNT.
I went through all the birds with no success. My second try, aimed the first bird up to the TNT again, and PTL!!! Somehow killed all piggies with the first bird!! My score was 65,300, just average but I did not care, I was finished with this episode with ONE bird!
Hours on this level and I improved my score! By 10… lol

This level was a pig to finish with 3 stars but i did it a slightly different way.
I aimed at the second platform from the top, clipped the pile of bricks and bounced onto the upper platform and started a similar sequence to the one described above.
There is no screenshot and i doubt if I could do it again quickly but if anyone is stuck (like I was) trying to hit the top platform, give my method a try.
I’ve used this approach and, on average, it seems to give slightly higher scores than the lob. Tough shot, though, because it has to be very accurate and there’s not much background to use for alignment. I’ve gotten the column to the left to collapse a couple of times, like @BirdJo describes, so 70K is possible with this shot.
Got 61,950 WITH 2 BIRDS !!!!!!!!!
And I got 58 with one!
there is a 2-bird strat that comes tantalizingly close to 63K, I may continue just because I can …
first bird nearly horizontal into the top of the three stone blocks, throwing the stack into the piggies below. Must kill the leftmost pig on the upper platform, or at least give him two black (purple) eyes.
second lobbed up at the TNT and clear the rest.
the key is going to be to get close to 10K worth of points from the blocks, not counting the number of pigs you kill.
Ugh I finally got it. Sure the level is easy to beat (kinda), but to get 3 stars is something else entirely. It was very difficult. After like a hundred tries, I got 64,620 and 3 stars so yay lol
It seems that the smallest of changes in the angle I hit the TNT with can completely change the outcome of the level. It took me ~15 attempts to get this one done in a single bird, just by making marginal changes to the angle (a matter of a few pixels) each time. It’s a pain that it’s so specific but eh, that’s Angry Birds for you :l

I consider this as the WORST level in Angry Birds.
@murash, really interested to know how you got the top score here. What platform and game version were you using?
FYI: just played the level a bit and got myself a collapse of the pile by sending red straight to the tnt. it slowly rolled off the platform to then get hit by a small stone upon falling down, which sent the red bird forcefully to the left into the pile, getting decent destruction on that. unfortunately, three pigs left at the bottom, see my album, but now know a collision is possible. no idea how frequent it is (it happened after only a few minutes of play, with the first few attempts played as described by briann, a high lob bouncing on the wood into the tnt).
I have managed to reproduce that collision @vuelva, but there wasn’t enough power from the small stone to make red hit the tower. I had one pig left though. Difficult to repeat.

When Angry Birds started a lot of people played it on Google Plus, which shut down long time ago, and I did not play the game since. For this particular level, I don’t remember exact strategy, but the luck was very much involved. Back then I was sending screen shots to Slim. I don’t have them anymore, maybe he has some.
Now had another collision that was closer to knocking tower down AND killed all the pigs for just under 65k. This might make top 50 if it works but never 75k.
Is this just an R&R or what?!
I have been at this for over an hour now, and still can’t get past 65k however the scores past 70k I have no idea how thats accomplished.
Is this level all just pure luck if you pop all the pigs, and knock over the pile? I would love to know.

Of the 699 levels in Angry Birds, this is my second worst (after Level 1-2).
I don’t think even extreme R&R will save you here.
I think a certain combination of early version and platform may have had an advantage we no longer have. There are too many high scores to make me think they are all made up.
Yeah that makes sense. Like do you think it would be an earlier version than 7.2.0?
If so, you’re right, it would be difficult to find. And as @murash describes, it could even be a little different mechanics using Google Plus.
Yes, earlier than that I would say. But only because it was at a time when Google Plus was available it would seem. I tried right back to version 1.6 (I think) in Nox and never got a sniff.
69113 using Classics! So… I did get it in the end. It’s just a matter of luck.
