It looks like a new Angry Birds Space update is on the horizon and a new character is set to “pop-in” (get the reference)! I don’t have a lot of information at the moment, but based on the teaser image above it’s obvious that the orange bird will make his first appearance in Angry Birds Space. It will definitely be interesting to see if the orange birds power are altered at all and how his powers will be leveraged in the zero-gravity realm of space.

Please don’t double-post. And honestly, I don’t expect these birds to end up in AB:Space. The zero-gravity would render their abilities moot.
In space, without any method of acquiring delta vee, then yes, those two birds would be powerless. However, one can easily argue:
1. Delta vee is acquired by way of the slingshot.
2. Their powers could be utilized in and around a planet with an air and gravity environment.
So, while it is unlikely, it is at least possible. Not that I’m in any way advocating for those birds in AB:Sp, but I thought I’d try to think up a possibility for those who do want those birds.
I’ll free with 2. Number 1 would be far more unnatural. But at the same time, what about this franchise draws from personal experience?
If it helps the ol’ #1, then think of it as kinetic energy transferred to the bird via the elasticity of the slingshot. I was tempted to make an argument for mechanical energy transfer, but let’s face it, a slingshot really ain’t all that much of a machine!
And it’s funny that several of us here, myself included, have posted in all seriousness, equating AB physics to the natural world. But hey, it’s all about having fun, though individual definitions of fun may differ.

Sorry, but another question: Since they should update the space website,(specifically meet the flockers.)they would have to create another poster.(like red, Ca-caw!, and Ice, Frossh!) And if so, what would Orange bird’s “sound” be ( Ca-caw!, Smash!, Bip Bap Bop!, etc.)Any awesome guesses?

I have a good feeling about this update.
Okay, so based on the picture with the “black hole” sucking the pigs up, and the “Best Update Ever” picture, featuring the antenna egg with a sort of a black hole in the background, I think that the antenna egg will also be playable, and its power may be that it creates a sort of black hole which sucks everything in its radius into it. Just a guess, of course.

In the ABSp game files, I’ve noticed there’s a lot of unused sprites such as OB’s sprites, the snowman head (Like the “pleasant company”‘s logo), the WB egg bomb and its egg-shell breaking debris, A purple sunglasses(?), Fat Pig’s laughing animation, the pigs’ “stick tongue” animation, that old wrapped Utopia planet (leftover), Amazing Alex planet, and such that i can’t list here.
I guess they’d be used for the next update (I hope so)
Quite a few of those are in fact used. You can see the WB’s “bomb” if you pause the screen just right. The sunglasses are likely from Summer Pignic, either in-game or credits. Etc.
Also, from a programming point of view, it’s better to have a few extra images than too few. Never know when something could be useful.

It probably means a “storm” of updates, like the new Utopia levels, the orange bird in space, and the antenna egg coming back.
Perhaps the rest of Surf and Turf as well?
And maybe the addition of Pigini Beach.
I don’t foresee any updates for Pigini Beach. There is no “coming soon” screen.

What about the other levels for Surf and Turf? They can’t just skip a whole chapter. Also, they might be releasing more danger zone because of pictures released by Rovio a while back.
Surf and Turf never had any coming soon screen, but it was updated twice.
On Facebook, no. On the mobile apps, (iOS, Android), in ABo, S&T, currently there are two screens, with 15 locked levels each, and each with a banner proclaiming, “Coming Soon!”

I found something interesting on rovio’s website. They are looking for a Unity Game Programmer. Unity is a 3D game engine. Strange.

Rovio says they do not answer queries about release dates, they act on more of a “when it’s done enough” mentality on this front, so I hate to start the downer, but they might hold off on releasing any update(s).

Normally they first add new achievements in Game Center before zhe update comes. Or do you think “the best update ever” won’t have any new achievements?
@chriss, If an update is a continuation of an existing episode (e.g., new levels for Utopia), there may not be new achievements. Also, given that we don’t know when an update will come, new achievements could still be added before said update is available for download.

Could the Antenna Egg be related to the new ABSp orange bird? -They both have antennae…
Look closely at the antennae; the egg’s antennae tip is white and a perfect circle, whereas the orange bird’s antenna tip is orange and sort of a lopsided

I like the black hole idea mentioned above. It jives with the “Biggest” update ever slogan and the pic of an egg falling into a swirling background.

Which.. is all that science is. Theories. Until proven of course… we speculate that a star, upon collapsing creates a black hole.. but do we really know? Have we seen it happen? Can we duplicate it?
Well.. until then, we can guess.. and use our imagination to it’s fullest! Rovio.. could, at will, cause a bird to collapse causing a black hole.. (in theory).

It’s not the sardine can, it’s the Space Eagle that creates it. The Eagle is only lured by the sardine can.

Maybe the black hole picture was a colored picture, but rovio turned it black and white to attract more attention to the update. I think it is a clue that we will be able to find golden astroids in this update. (Since we didn’t find any in the first chapter of Utopia)

Rovio has not announced anything thus far about future levels to Danger Zone.
