SumoBro replied to the topic Potential New AB Game in the forum General Discussions Forum 4 years, 6 months ago
Of course I can’t find it now, but if I see it again later, I’ll post the link. Also, I forgot to mention this above, but Rovio is also running an ad for a game that looks and extremely similar, but with the AB characters replaced with generic fantasy ones (the survey questions are the same, too). They’re probably trying to gauge which is more p…[Read more]

I just wanted to let you all know that Rovio is running ads on Facebook for a new AB game that looks like a clone of Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, Marvel Strike Force, and the like. The ad links to a survey asking you to answer basic questions (do you like game x, etc.). Honestly, I’m not surprised. I just hope it doesn’t get canned like the ot…[Read more]

Woah. Apparently this is only for android, and has been in closed beta for months under the developer “Dark Matter.” If anything, any new games under that group might be from Rovio. Still, it’s not Angry Birds.

@mikemaz42 You’re right! Hopefully Rovio is doing ‘testing’ again and they will pop back up soon.

Rovio has released a new game in some countries called Sugar Blast. It is a clone of Angry Birds Dream Blast without the Angry Birds. Go figure.
Edit: In the official app description, they forgot to remove the link to Dream Blast’s website and replace it with Sugar Blast’s.

Recently Rovio announced that the Angry Birds Island game, a soft-launched remake of Blast, has been discontinued. The game is being closed at the end of June for all Western players (despite the fact it is mostly offline), and will be reworked for the Chinese market. Honestly, I think this was the original plan (see Blast Island from last y…[Read more]

@mvnla2 That’s great. Yeah, the game’s definitely more ftp that the older ones. I do like how there is always a line of sight, among other little things POP 1 didn’t have. A couple months back, Rovio changed all of their support pages (they used a new client or something). Finding an actual person is a bit ridiculous now. There’s some backw…[Read more]

@mvnla2 Welcome back! I think POP 2 was released in the US last week (source: is in my app store now) and it should work. Honestly if the game isn’t functioning like it should, just delete it and reinstall it. This usually works for games like this. If it still doesn’t then maybe it’s your device, or maybe it’s something you’d have to cont…[Read more]

@mighty-red-1 Angry Birds POP 2 has been released onto the United States App Store. Also, Rovio has soft-launched a game/app called Angry Birds Explore, which uses AR and the bird codes from the AB Movie 1 to promote the AB Movie 2.

Yeah, this one just released worldwide. I think it’s a port of the VR game from earlier this year, so I wonder how that game actually did. Either way, I like the mobile version because it’s finally something different.

You know, I’ve personally seen over a dozen games go down for the count, and I’ve heard of hundreds more. Disney and EA and probably many other companies have lists of all the games that were abandoned and pulled, many with their servers closed. Even Rovio’s no stranger to this; just look at the slaughter of late 16-17. It’s really sad, th…[Read more]

I contacted Rovio support, and wrote this:
“Hi, I was looking through the U.S. App Store, and it seems that the original Angry Birds and several other games have been delisted. Is this going to be permanent, or is it a temporary thing? Thanks.”
Today they responded back with:
“I fully realize how confusing it might be when you are not able to…[Read more]

This is a bit crazy.
I just wanted to put the info out there that the “purchased” tab is a thing on both the Google Play and App Stores, so once you’ve downloaded a game, you will be able to redownload them. Of course, if the game required a server, having the app on your device won’t help any bit.

All of the old games are gone, at least in the US. I hope this isn’t what I think it is.
Edit: Something like this has happened before. Something caused the older ones to disappear for some time a while ago. Still, they and others like Transformers are gone, so that’s not good.

Plumber’s Log: Entry 9001.
Rovio, less than a week following the soft launch of their new hit game, Angry Birds POP 2, has released its first update.
This update makes the long awaited change of currency in the game, with the gold coins replaced with ‘llama tokens.’ Both provided the same purpose.
Tune in next week, when the colors will have…[Read more]

To be honest, I believe the reason for Angry Birds Island (a Homescapes-version of Blast) and this (and Blast Island, if that is still in development) is so Rovio can release them in the non-American markets. This game has a small loot-box based system, which might be seen more favorably overseas. Plus, despite any aesthetic changes, the p…[Read more]

Rovio has soft-launched another puzzle sequel, Angry Birds POP 2, in several European countries. I’ll update this as I play through with my observations.
Edit: It’s a more polished Angry Birds POP. Who knew?
