Another day, another “cheesy” Angry Birds mini-game to report. No no, not cheesy in a bad way. Cheesy, as in, mouth-watering pizza smothered in gooey mozzarella and topped with red birds pepperoni! If you live in the USA you are probably not familiar Telepizza. As you might suspect, Telepizza is a chain of pizza restaurants found in Spain and other parts of Eurporean Union (thanks again Wikipedia!).
Angry Birds Telepizza — which you can play at telepizza.angrybirds.com — is the third web based Angry Birds app we’ve announced in as many weeks (that doesn’t even include the launch of Angry Birds Friends — formerly Angry Birds Facebook — yesterday). Unlike many of the previous games this one is in HTML5 (like Angry Birds Chrome) and you don’t have to log-in to play. Also, as of now there are no competitions associated with it, so just check it out and fling some birds for fun, which is what it’s all about anyhow.
Here are some more details:
- There are six fun levels, which we have walkthroughs for here.
- Level #6 is extremely difficult to 3-star, so be prepared for challenge.
- The level selection screen (image above) is a pizza with each slice being one level. I believe this is a first.
- Since this is an HTML5 version you should able to back up your progress just like you do with Chrome.
A big thanks to Anonymus for being the first person to tip us off about this. @blahalb09 also discovered that you can play Telepizza on Facebook, but it’s the exact same version as I linked to above, so there is really no reason.
Yay! Combines two things I love: Angry Birds and pizza!
I was going to say that. Now, combine those with beer, and it’s just perfect!
Can I plat this game in 2023? i tried to open site, but there’s an error :(
Awesome I am ready for a challenge
me too..it’s been a long time since i had one
what a week for web based games!!
@kcox2116 I agree
This being the first time I’ve actually played one of the web based games, I have to say, even with a fast connection to the internet, the lag time is a real killer. Hopefully, Rovio is saving all these web based levels to one day put in a standalone app.
Any scores you obtain on FB automatically transfer to telepizza.angrybirds.com ,and vice versa.
Not really transferring, but yeah. It’s the same exact game. On Facebook they just embed it in an iframe. It’s not connected to the social graph like Angry Birds Facebook/Friends is.
Am I the only one who is annoyed with how slow these web based mini games run? I have a MacBook laptop that is only about 2 yrs old and is fairly “up to date” and fast, but I seem to have lots of latency issues with these games and the FB ones as well. These are Flash based games, right? These seem to slow down my PC just like other Flash based games (Farmville, etc). Guess I will quit playing these and just wait for AP Space, Seasons and other updates.
I have problems with them on my Windows PC too. It takes forever to load them on my slow internet, and then they are so choppy it’s difficult to play. I agree with everyone who wishes Rovio would release these mini games as apps once they have been on the advertiser’s website for a certain length of time. As apps, they would still give advertising to the companies.
It seems to me that after they have been on a particular website for a long time, fewer and fewer people will play them. If they were apps we could download for free, more people would see them for longer, and it would be better for the companies.
Ya same here, It works well for sometime just after loading, and then it starts to lagging for me.
They are not all flash games. Telepizza is HTML+JS game.
@flassari – any idea when you’ll be updating mobile apps like original and seasons?
I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.
That’s not good for business….
Still, it would be great if all these commercial levels on the web are being saved for potential release in their own app someday. I would have no problem with an app called, say, Angry Birds:Commercials, or something even more clever.
@truckdriver – there’s a discussion about this on the forum also – I agree – it would make a great stand alone app.
To be honest, I’d rather see them spend time designing new levels and apps than wasting time porting levels left and right, which can be a headache. Just my opinion.
They could just as easily build new levels around the incorporated existing ones. It would add time to the QA process, but it be good for those whose device limitations preclude some of the web based games. This is especially applicable to the Facebook games, as many, including myself, are far too leery of the leaky sieve that is FB privacy policy, not to mention the hacker exploitable holes within their coding.
The Flash games are better, but yes, the HTML5 games run so slow! It makes timing almost impossible.
HTML 5 lags like crazy.. no doubts there. One thing that did kind of help me, is to not zoom out all the way. It didn’t help much, but when I zoomed all the way out, I could never drop the egg from the white bird when I wanted too. So I went back and played them similar to the way you do on the iPhone or Android .. not like you do on the PC.
I did not see a way to zoom out. I am on a PC, using IE with Google Chrome Frame plugin. Does that make a difference? Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. It is impossible to play without being able to zoom out. Also, like others, the loading time is outrageously lengthly. However, once it loaded, the game appeared to have normal functionality, except for the loss of the zoom in/out feature.
@Flassari — anyone else — It says it is optimized for Chrome, does anyone know if there are fewer lags if you play on chrome? Is there any way to control the zoom or the view (it seem to zoom and view however it wants, with no user control)??? Very frustrating to play on my MacBookAir, which is <2 yrs old. Admittedly we don't have the swiftest internet on the planet, but it's pretty fast.
Ok, if you play it on Chrome there is much less lag, but still can’t figure out how to control zoom or view. Still frustrating.
Google Chrome is by far the best browser to play these games. Also, switching from Internet Explorer to Chrome is now advisable since Chrome became the world’s most used browser recently. So more sites will probably be optimized for Chrome in the foreseeable future.
I disagree, crome acts like a virus and effects my computer
Better off in the forums to discuss this matter.. but the “mostly” used browser switches hands so much, it’s pointless to put a stand on what sites will be optimized for. The whole point we need to make, is standardization.. not optimization.
Though this is better on Chrome, Firefox proves you can play the game, but for me, I have no backgrounds.. it’s all black.
But, aside from all this.. the game is just way to laggy for me.. had to give up, because I cannot get thru the second level. No matter when I click, the first WB never drops the egg. So.. I’ll just be envious of those that can play it!
=)
Wow! Rovio really are spoiling us with these web versions! And of course there’s the Heiki spin-off coming in a couple of weeks as well! My only complaint would be still no update for Rio or Seasons Free version for iOS! *sigh* Guess I’ll just had to wait a bit longer for them…….:)
I wants a new season for Seasons!
There appears to be a trend with corporate sponsorship of games which is good for the players and provides diversity for formats. Planing to got to the web based games next after Space and AB-O. New challenges to keep interest.
So you don’t have to have FB to play the game
No you don’t.
These levels make me awful hungry.
Looks like it’s not stars. It’s pepperoni!
That’s right. On the level complete screen it awards you with pepperoni not stars.
So, that means that we’ll be seeing them called the 3-pepperoni walkthroughs for Telepizza.
i never play AB on FB cuz too addictive and not many of my friends play it …
for this version, how can i get started?? can i just play it on my desktop at home or in office?? (hope this is not a stupid question to ask, so far i only play on iphone for all possible levels)
thanks :-)
Yes, just go to telepizza.angrybirds.com! One more thing, if you have Internet Explorer you will have to download the Google Chrome frame. If you have Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari you’re fine.
i have safari and it doesn’t show up on their. keeps telling me to download ABO
Cannot be played on mobile devices.
Acutally, if I’m not wrong, IE9 has native support for HTML5.
Yes, but all other versions don’t.
These web apps are specifically designed to NOT run on mobile.
Yes, if you try to access them on a mobile device it will tell you to download ABO.
I think it better than other web app games other than chrome because
1. 6 new levels and all of them are unlocked unlike other we can only play 3 levels and 3 levels we have to enter a code which is not accessible to all countries
2.no registration needed
I hope rovio makes these kind of web apps
And how we would get the code? Maybe by doing a task, or by paying?
Actually the codes are present in products available in a specific country so you can’t have them unless someone emails you the codes.
Angry and hungry… what a combination! :D
I’d really love to have leaderboards for these mini games on ABN.
I’m sorry but it would be a lot (A LOT) of work for very little service.
Of course, I understand. :)
I love it!!! But the game makes me hungry!!! :)
So eat pizza! :P
I’m from Spain, if anyone wants one plush toy, card, anything that they give with the Telepizza menu I can get it
I’m not sure how it works, could you explain it for me?
how likely do you admins (slim,bl) think it is, that all those web based games come out as a seperate app for ios? it would not be much effort for rovio, because the levels already exist and i am sure a lot of peple would buy it!!! pls tell me what your personal opinions are ;-)
Unlikely. While the level designs exist, you would need to convert them from Flash/HHTML5/JS to the mobile criterion.
It’s not just a matter of uploading it to an app. They would need to convert the code, perform QA testing, marketing, etc. that is not cheap. There needs to be proof of profit to make expenditures.
Also, the companies they make the apps for may not want their game put out as an app or bundled with another company’s game, so there are those factors as well.
Don’t get me wrong, I would love to have them as an app, but it’s not a simple matter.
What he said.
I have everything 3 pepperonied except level 6.
Yeah, it is very hard! The walkthroughs are helpful, though
You know what Rovio should do. They should create a android app that has all angry birds web based games like:
{post clipped}
See two comments above you.
Mmm… Pizza and Angry Birds! A delish combo! :D
The next Angry Birds Game for mobiles should be ABW. Angry Birds Web! I love all these web based levels but I love playing on my iPhone the most.
I fully agree. Playing with a computer mouse is not as much fun as playing with a touch screen.
I think they should at least make a web game central website where you can play any of the games in the same location. They should also do something to make the games smoother.
I love pizza and angry birds too!!!!
Can you tell Rovio Mobile if they could produce a android app with all the web based Angry Birds games like Angry Birds Volcano
We can’t tell them to do anything but this concept has been mentioned several times before. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s likely to happen with soooo many companies involved.
Anytime now….
The game was already released… just so you know.
Sorry. I’m just waiting till the CsC game will come out. Maybe it’s a nice game
Do I sound weird for having no idea what CsC is?
Casey’s contraptions, I believe/
Amazing Alex previously known as Casey’s Contraptions ;-)
i dont even know who casey is
Awesome! Angry Birds flung to
Mount Everest
Great catch! :D
vry nice game……just enjoying it…
I like them both
pizza+Angry birds is master combi
Pizza……….Angry birds…….. YUMMY YUM YUM!
I might play.
Yet another AB web game that can’t be played anymore… Or maybe it can?
I tried checking on the Wayback Machine and there’s several captures of the game site when it was still up, unfortunately only thing I get is the following message:
We’re sorry, but it appears that your browser does not currently support the web technologies needed to play Angry Birds.
To teach the pigs a lesson:
Download Google Chrome, a fast new browser – now with the Angry Birds game. (Recommended)
I get that message even while I’m using Chrome, also tried Firefox but no luck either.
Since the game didn’t require any kind of registration it may still be possible to play it if we can get rid of that message, so if someone knows about a solution for the error please let me know.
