This level has self destruction, but it takes a long while, and haven’t figured out if it helps your score. It should, I think.
~30 sec after restart blocks to left of upper tower shift
4 min 270
5 — 690
6 5710 pig closest left to upper tower gone
Looks to me like the self-destruction might not help, because it is less likely that enough stones will fall into water. But I’m impatient and not a consistent shot.
oh wow @mvnla2 i missed this comment I’ll keep my eye on it:) i love self destruction as you know, even if it doesn’t help is usually interesting to see:)
1st: Aim so he hits the water at about 2 o-clock, skipping up to the top of the upper tower. Manually detonate on impact.
2nd: Shoot as quickly as possible (like the video), so the floating wooden planks don’t have time to scatter/float back towards to where the upper tower was. This is, IMO, the best way to consistently get over 160K.
Thanks for the tips @zebung :) shooting quickly for the second shot was very helpful.
Not sure about the 2:00 aim on the first shot though i went in about 4:00 must be a time zone thing lol;)
I gotta stop giving you tips. You keep beating my scores! Have a great weekend!
Sorry @Kathy I agree with @zebung I went in the water at 1:45. When I tried going in at 4:00, all I hit was the fish/planet. Just curious Ma. What is at 12:00 on your tablet? The closest thing I have at 12:00 is a yellow rubber ducky. And he’s at about 11:45.
Hmm @rat9 i was using the top of the tall tower for 12:00 if i go in the water at 2 i Hit the rubber duckie:/ nice score
OK Ma. This begs the obvious question. Why pick an arbitrary reference as opposed to the top of the circle as 12:00? This could explain some of our communication issues in the past. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

many thx to @zebung for the first shot
here my video:
https://youtu.be/b_t4YhruZ5c
@Kathy @rat9 @zebung
I finally got > AVG thusly after flinging several hundred times as per video.
first bird is roughly the same, zoomed out there is a series of bright starts that lead you in at about 1:30. Just under that are two very dim start that lead you in at 2:00. I pop out and tap the top of the tall tower and let it rool down a little and manually detonate at the hollow part throwing maximum stonage into the water. I’ve had nearly 90K on the first bird, so if I keep at it I think I may catch @rat9
I kept flinging the second bird as per video but just couldn’t get the lower TNT, so tried a slightly different approach.
there is a bright star in the grav field out of the water at about 4:30. going through that makes the OB pop up and then UNDER the left structure detonating the TNT, then he balloons out tossing debris everwhere and blows the other TNT. 4 tries and I went from a 2-star 147 to a nice 163.
I don’t usually have anything unique to say about MW, so give this a shot
Again Nice flinging @knichy do I sense a challenge for @rat9 coming soon..hee hee?
He does love a good challenge, I’ll be back someday, just giving season a run for now but I do love my space keep at it you’ll be right up in the top 10 in no time! Uhmm unless your already there ,I haven’t checked your boards, if you are then I’m in trouble haha. Between you @beautifulvvorld and hmm another sending sherriff to my door I’m already on my way down :(
@knichy Thank you. I’d managed to get 164k by the “standard” strategy, but I thought that yours offered the possibility of more. It took several hundred tries, but I finally manged to boost my score to 167k. I think that there’s the potential for even more, but my finger’s just worn out!
@snoid thank YOU for all your strats in the past. like I said, I don’t usually have anything unique to add, so it’s a red letter day when my advice actually helps somebody!
@knichy I usually only have a refinement to offer, while yours was something new. I actually came up with new strategies on three Cosmic Crystal Mirror World levels, each of which got me into first place for now. (Two of them displaced Rat, so I’m expecting that status won’t last too long!)
@snoid I am in awe of the flinging skills presented here, and happy to help when I can! And I also noticed your were the only one to catch the “Careful with that axe …” 60’s Floyd ref …
@knichy I’d much rather discuss classic rock than AB anytime. I bought Ummagumma when it first came out in 1969, about a week before my last acid trip on Halloween, but I still liked it anyway. Besides “Careful with that axe” it had “Set the controls for the heart of the sun”, which was my personal favorite of that era. I was just checking out their “Discovery” boxed set of the 2011 remastered versions of their first 14 albums on Amazon a couple of days ago, but it’s just too much Floyd for me! We’ve got this great FM station out here in Arizona KCDX which broadcasts album rock from the 60s to the 80s. It’s also available on-line, and I’m frequently surprised by the great old songs that it plays that I missed at the time (quite a few of which Shazam can’t even identify), but I’m catching up on them now. It’s basically the station owners private collection, and it’s been going since 1993 with just music and station announcements; no DJs, no ads. I’m also finding a lot of newer stuff on the local community radio station KXCI, which also streams.
Tres Cool, @snoid. sounds like you have me by a few years, I was 10 when my dad came back from California with HIS father’s electric bass and a copy of Deep Purple’s Machine Head. And the rest is history. 35 years in and out of various classic, hard, and metal bands, with a stint as a trombone in a touring Reggae band!
Fling On, gnarly dude!
@knichy Sounds like an interesting career. Reggae is what saved the 80s!
@snoid Yah Mon, Jah La Rastafarea! We were more ska than reggae. actually recorded a few tunes, one on the Mashin Up The Nation II compilation album that gave Mighty Mighty Bosstones (@Kathy a boston toss to you) their big break.
@snoid I made an attempt to “@friend” you. Not really sure about the social media stuff, hope it gets to you.
Thanks for the Boston shouout @knichy :)
@snoid perhaps you could join us in the Bloated Pig (BP) forum ,I’m sure we could put some Reggae on the Jukebox :)
@kathy and @knichy How does one go about joining the BP forum? If you want a Boston shoutout that one of you may be old enough to remember (I won’t say which), how about Ultimate Spinach and Beacon Street Union (I still have an album by the latter)? They were part of the “Bosstown Sound”, as opposed to the much later Bosstones. I remember visiting my best friend from high school up there in 1969-70 and hanging out down by the banks of the River Charles! (The Standells were from California, however.)
@snoid you can find the Bloated Pig by clicking on ‘Community’ on the gold bar above, it’s not a matter of joining as its part of the old forum, not a group.
It’s not live chat of course but if you just pop in and say hello someone will answer soon enough :) conjer up your favorite drink and make yourself comfortable:D
P.s Love that dirty water:)
Wooo. I did nothing particularly special but somehow I seem to have gotten top score. I feel almost apologetic. Almost…
Top score per @zebung‘s strat, except that it was not necessary for me to launch 2nd bird quickly. Indeed, the best destruction I got was when 2nd OB landed exactly under left tower and inflated everything upward (from planet point of view), so that almost all the tower crashed on its island after this.
Still quite a lot of floating debris after 1st shot, to more points can be gotten there.
