Pig Bang level 1-18 is deceivingly tricky. A good trajectory for the first Black bird is just above the small asteroid at the edge of the sling-scope path. It may take another Black bird or two, but the asteroids should eventually crush all the bacon-on-ice.

A one-birder is possible on this level if you aim your first black bird right across the top of the “inner” asteroid belt. There is a wide space between the row of 4 smallerish asteroids and the farther off ones, if I’m explaining ths well at all. The explode the black bird just over top of the 3rd from the left asteroid and as it falls it brings down enough of the other asteroids below it to crush all the pigs and most of the ice blocks.
Thanks! That method worked great!
Thanks for the tips
Great strat! Worked perfect first try!!! Thanks;-)
A a pool player lol…there are 5 boulders in the shape of like what they would be on a dice..hit just over the small one in the middle to just kiss the top left of the boulder located at the top right of the 5…don’t explode should hit the boulder and 2 others to go down into atmosphere and take out all glass and piggies… kinda the same as leelee said above works 90% of the time..hope this makes sense..not real good at explaing..gl
thanks leelee, went from 72050 (only just three stars!) to 78710, and I’ll be working on getting that higher still! Thanks again :)
82,400 on the first try! Thanks!
Thanks, 76130 now. :)
Thanks. Flinging at the challenge 27/6 2013 After having several different phones, had to start from beginning again, forgotten all tricks. Good strategy to get 3 stars and above average before midnight.
This works! I improved my score by about 4,500. Thanks.
Thanks @leelee0927 for the post and @comex666 for the video and to the other folks below who provided tips and suggestions for this strategy. Just activated the bomb bird above the third asteroid and watched the sequence of destruction for the various outcomes and scores.
76350 with one bird above the third small asteroid
Same as video…
but only used one bird.
82670 with the exact same method that the video
THX GOT 3 STARS IN ALL LEVELS!
Not a “alternate strategy” but congrats.
Removed the blue.
Again a level that has a big 0 gravity advantage.
Pace the bomb bird down so you’re chances of blasting at the correct spot is bigger.
Line it up at full speed and memorize the background, for instance a star. Now release the catapult’s strength along the same line.
Let the bomb bird fly slowly to the designated spot, like on video, and let it blast. 0,3 seconds that will make a succesfull 1birder instead of 0,05 seconds.
82k by previous tactic.
83.5k:
Aim at closest big boulder’s top, so the bomb goes up and the boulder down. Max speed
The bomb should bounce to the small pebble at 2 o’clock of the big one. The small could go down, not of importance.
Blast the bomb at a 9 o’clock spot on the medium sized boulder next to the pebble, so it goes towards the big boulder and fall down into hemisphere directly. Or for a bonus it will push the rightmost medium boulder to the planet as well.
The blast will also push down the other close medium boulder since you’re at it’s 11 o’clock spot.
So there will be 1 big boulder and 2 medium boulders at the planet. Sometimes 3 medium boulders.
I managed a one-bird solution shooting to the following location. The image below shows basically where to shoot. This try gave me 51K with 3 left over for a total of 81K. I tried to show where to explode the bird but with a few tries you should get the three stones to fall onto both towers.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/600/pigbang118.png/
see this is what we need when people do alternate strategies. i know not everyone has the ability to record video….but screencaps are such a help…way better than “aim to this place and fire.”
I used the same method and did a screen capture. I used “Paint” to show trajectories of the bird and the three asteroids involved. Just pretend you are playing billiards. The yellow line is the first bomb bird and the red lines are the approximate trajectories that the asteroids will take.

Just took #1 in the highscore list for this level with the following approach.
With full speed pass the asteroid we all used to aim for as super-close as possible. Behind that asteroid is another one. (the rightmost in the line of three from left to right and the uppermost in the line of 4 upward) Ignite when exactly north of it.
If done righ there will be 5 boulders in the pit, (4 medium and the big one) Smashing everything – total destruction gives you +86k.
Side note: The big one is the only asteroid that will crash if you send it to the edge on the bottom. Though this never gave me a really high score. Better have it roll to the left and crush some ice/glass.
84420/1
many thx to @happyshake for the details and strat.
here my video:
https://youtu.be/ovndsE-ZHvI
Wow… It’s my first high score! I did it by aiming for that 3rd rock. Explode right above it and it sends 4 or 5 rocks to the surface. There was one ice bar left… So there’s probably a higher score possible.
Slightly different strategy but it did enable me to get the top score during the challenge (at least so far, and even then only by 50 points…) I think continued tries may lead to a few more points.
Still a one bird of course, numbering the asteroids left to right aim to pass just barely to the left of the 3rd asteroid, and explode when exactly between the 4th asteroid and the bright star to the left (iPhone star background) The screen shot can show the place to aim much better than the explanation:
The result is very similar to the existing strategy, the 4th asteroid is flung at high speed into the asteroid field below and several are sent crashing into the pit. I somehow missed capturing my actual highscore shot, the one I did capture shows 4 small asteroids in the “pit”. For my highscore it was 5 small asteroids and a large one and maybe 1 or 2 small pieces of ice/glass left.
Well done @goavs4 and @knetsc! You both qualify for the Underdog badge!
Thanks @amslimfordy! I would add that for a measly 50 points I am not sure I would recommend anyone try my method as it’s definitely a bit trickier in the timing than the other method and for virtually the same results it might not be worth the trouble!
Used the strategy described by HappyShake, aim just above the asteroid in the walkthrough to the one past it, detonating directly above. I got 5 asteroids into the pit, the large one rolled into the right side with one other, the other 3 were in the left side. There was 1 cracked piece of ice & a cracked stone block left.
Wow! This is impressive.
@karen68 thanks! I started with an old score of 83k and just improved to 85,300. I had five boulders and one cracked piece of ice left. :)
Good morning @sunshine! :D I’m happy it helped! I remember a lot of resets on this one.
This is a repeat Challenge level, I got one of my first Underdogs on it, so I expect the high score is still beatable. It’s one of those levels where every single point counts, the scores are all so close together. Congrats on your score :)
@karen68 thank! I’m not sure how many more point are available beyond 86,280. My count is not a lot. :/
@happyshake: awesome strat! I agree with @karen68 that 86,280 is going to be tough to beat. My top score left me with the same thing as @sunshine – 5 asteroids in the pit and one cracked ice block left.
The crazy thing about this level is that I have had 5 boulders in the pit and nary any ice block left and still be under my previous score. I have also had 4 boulders, big one hulk smashed and nary an ice block left with still a lower score. Finally for my highest score 4 boulders, big one hulkasmashed and two ice bars cracked but left. Crazy level. I can’t believe we’re revisiting this one for the challenge but I did managed to best my old score by 500 points. Yippee.
I might add the higher scores have to come from slow crush as opposed to high speed smash. Not sure what each item is worth but there are damage points tallied before the actual destruction value of each piece as we all know. Be interesting to know what the damage thresholds are. Say an ice block is worth 500 + 100 damage points = 600 total points possible for example.
It’s been a lucky day in Space! I attained my score of 86,930 following the same strategy described by @happyshake and @karen68. Thank you both! That along with lots and lots of resets.
When the “dust settled” all that was left on the planet were five boulders. I’ve included a screenshot of this as well as the final score in my album.

@lulu2all bravo!!!!! Cheers!!!!! Nice job!!! Well done!!!!!! :D
Thanks so much @sunshine! Puppy #2. I’ve named this one “Lucky”. : )
Wow @lulu2all awesome score! Congrats on your 2nd puppy :)
Thanks so much @karen68!
@lulu2all I just made it into the 86k club!!!! Yahoo!!!! :D 86,220
Excellent score @sunshine! Congrats!!!
@lulu2all thanks! My screenshot looks exactly the same as it did for my score of 85,300, five boulders and one cracked piece of ice….
This level’s scoring mechanism is haywire, I scored 80950 with only 1 sheet of glass remaining, and then scored 83650 with a bunch of glass totally untouched, where’s the sense in that? Weird sense of humor that the designers of this game have.
@lumberjack Weird. I’m an amateur lumberjack and just saw the same bird as your avatar in my yard.
Love the score range with 5 boulders, Nothing left
85960
85200
84950
83940
I think that first large boulder gives around 2k, and breaks on impact half the time.
Maximizing the number of boulders falling on the planet is not enough. I once managed to have 6 boulders down (5 medium sized and one large) for 82810 but several debris, then I did the correct move (@happyshake strat) and finally got above 85k with two debris.
A few pics…
Spectacular fail, with six rocks down, but one surviving pig and only 45k…
https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/members/sglouk/album/picture/10917/
(It would have made only 80k if pig had died.)
Success, with six rocks down, and no debris left at all:
https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/members/sglouk/album/picture/10918/
(86200 in the end)
Should the big rock have broken on impact when falling, I would have gotten the Top Score by a lot. However, this time, as most time when six rocks fall down, the big rock falls on another rock instead of the small moonrock “hill” between structures, and the odds that it gets broken on impact are then very small. So maybe having only five rocks down make it easier to get closer to the Top Score.
Thank you to @HappyShake for your very clearly explained strategy. I’m delighted with my third place but I’ll keep trying! @grannyann
An observation. Don’t know if it’s relevant or been mentioned but I’ve noticed that the asteroids spin in random directions on each reset. Sometimes they remain stationary. I’ve also noticed that if the target one is spinning counter clockwise there’s more chance of a good result and if the large one beneath it is spinning in the same direction then it’s even better.
Hey @steviep147, you are making my life difficult today. I think that’s the fifth time we have leapfrogged each other today. And all to no avail, still nowhere near the pup. It’s a tough ask.
