Angry Birds Space Golden Eggsteroid #5 (E-5) Walkthrough

Golden Eggsteroid #5 is located on level 2-28 of Angry Birds Space Cold Cuts. The Golden Eggsteroid is concealed under the snow pile, though the concealing is sort of undone by the large flashing arrow pointing at it. Launch any bird head-on into the snow pile to obtain the Eggsteriod. Once you hit the egg you’ll immediately be transported via a wormhole to the level, which pays homage to the 1980’s video game Star Castle. I have gotten my best two scores hitting the star at about 2 o’clock (highest) or 5 o’clock (very close second)

it appears that the longer the star takes to collapse, more extensive is the damage and more points..hit the star at 2 o’clock

I’m at a loss here…the highest I have scored is 124,965 with one bird. I have no idea what to do to improve the score, much less catch jaberou. Is it possible to do it with no birds and rely on the movement happening inside the star? Anyone care to share the secret?

Got 128k using the video’s method, attacking the top pig and the barrier it protects. The amount of debris crushed by gravity is usually dependent on luck. :)

141260 – I.G.L. – Similar to the video, but I went into the gravity field and let it swing around above the top pig before activating the laser bird to hit where it does in the video above. There was very little debris left.

I’ve been using the same strategy for days & couldn’t get above 127k, did it again, & didn’t see much difference in destruction, but my score was 142830. The only thing I could see different is that the wood falls into the star & didn’t collapse outside of the star. It just folded in on itself.

I am a little bit puzzled on how somebody was able to get 157k on this level. He had to have probably destroyed literally everything in the level but it may be somehow possible!

I just improved my score by about 600 points haha. My only advice is try to get the structure to collapse as slowly as possible.

Now I am satisfied with my score :) I just got 127,080 points. I may come back before the end of the challenge and see if I can improve this but for now I am satisfied.

Lazer Bounce
I don’t know if this qualifies as an alternate strategy but here goes: shoot your Lazer bird around toward top of star. When the bird is lined up between the star and the other planetoid opposite the planetoid that has the slingshot, redirect Lazer toward the middle of the other planetoid. Lazer will bounce off and fall into the gravity field and drop straight down through the middle of the star. Highest so far is 120K, a little above average. Just been trying to think outside the box because there doesn’t seem to be a sure-fire way to reach anywhere near the 145K and higher scores without a zero-bird fluke. Aloha.

If you shoot the first bird at approximately 45° and enter at the top, aim for the wooden plank under the very top pig and try to come in just shy of vertically, you should score in the mid to high 120’s. I have repeated this several times today.
As @fillmore1234 suggested, a slow collapse is important. I find that coming in at a slight angle, rather than head on, allows the center to collapse more slowly. Keep trying, you will get a good score.

Very nice flinging @wanda, I was taking the same approach through the top pig as well. I swear I made the exact same shot, hitting the exact same place I had done many many times before, & somehow it all collapsed to up my score. Still a lot of luck involved I think!

145k with pretty much the same shot as the video. My highest scores before this were 134k, 132k twice and 131k a few times. This took easily over a thousand attempts and I tried every conceivable angle… there is no technique other than grinding.

I don’t get the comments saying slow collapse scores higher. The only way to get above ~130k on this is with stone breakage. Slow crumbles aren’t really conducive to that. :/

i use the Bird in the atmosphere,
target is the right-top-corner of the stone (north), left from the wood.
