Angry Birds Space Cosmic Crystals Level 7-13 Walkthrough

Our strategy for Angry Birds Space Cosmic Crystals level 7-13 is to cause the center planet to detonate. In the video, the rocket ship is pushed into the gravitational field, though there’s a detonator to the northeast of the planet that will set off the TNT. After the chaos, target the north planet if necessary. The score in the video below is 89,210.

The video below shows the hidden detonator. Though the scoring is approximately the same, the strategy below may be easier to reproduce. The score in the video below is 86,880.

Getting 101 with this strategy, thanks! But has anyone else noticed – I often get over 100k without blowing up the crystal planet behind the detonator? If this blew up like it should with the second bird then scores should be over 107-108k (based on my observance of how much the score increases when that’s the last piece to blow.) It’s one of those unfortunate if/then scenarios but I haven’t figured out which “if” prevents the last explosion. It’s almost as though there’s a points threshold – if one exceeds X then the crystal planet won’t explode. (I’m guessing by the current high of just over 103 that this is happening to everyone else, lol.) Good luck, all!

And another observation @maiasatara. After blowing up the topmost planet with the asteroid, 2 pieces of debris fall into the gravity field of the large planet. Assuming you’ve left the floating TNT contraption intact, the score when the second (largest) debris drops down and explodes is ALWAYS 18860 or 18870. At least, that has been my observation so far after many many attempts. So it seems that everything must happen after this point to increase the score. Perhaps there is another approach to get a piece of debris to set off the detonator – maybe the highest scores are from a one bird solution triggering the detonator too?

I don’t agree. Blowing the big planet does not give much points, for some reason that I do not understand (basically, no debris are flung at high velocity nor subsequently collide with each others). The wire gives more point, on the other hand. I think that if you got 101k without blowing the planet, the wire was already gone, and blowing the planet would have given you 103k or possibly 104k (and then, a puppy). However, I just got almost 103k without blowing the planet, therefore 105k is probably possible.

Yes, if the wire is still there, the 2nd bird gives on average 14.5k if it blows the planet, so it is useful to spend it. @sglouk – First of all, Congrats on your great score and your puppy!

Also…when I was in the midst of rinse and repeat…When I was stuck in the 102K+ range, I got a 73200+ first bird score and with out even thinking about it, I haphazardly flung BB as usual and didn’t explode the planet…so if you say the average points for exploding planet with BB is 14.5K then if I had managed a good second bird shot, I could have had 73200 + 14500 for 87200 with 2 bonus birds for 107700! So I believe you are indeed correct with your possible 105K+ scores available.

I am about to give up though as I am getting very frustrated, especially knowing I goofed on that potential great score I could have had. Heck…I would have been better off not even flinging the second bird and ended up with 103200, hahaha ;-) Congrats again!!!

@lesleyg Did you check whether the wire was still there? I presume that you had destroyed the wire. I got several 72k’s this way after the first bird. My best with the wire intact after first bird was around 69.8 or 69.9k. If you destroy the wire, the 2nd bird does not give you more than 10k, therefore you must not use it. But maybe you had a very, very successful first shot.

@sglouk – I am not 100% sure on that particular shot but I believe the wire was still there as I’ve yet been able to destroy it with the first bird, BUT even if it was destroyed on that turn, after that, I read your previous comment about the wire and am 100% positive I have definitely had a couple times now, scores over 72K with the wire still intact! So for example even with a 72100 first bird score, with wire still intact and 14500 second bird score that would be 86600 with two bonus birds. I just haven’t been able to pull it off…either the planet doesn’t explode or I get less then 14500, waahhhh ;-( perhaps the whine factor will kick in now ;-)

@lesleyg and @sglouk – you’re almost saying what I mentioned earlier. Those two shots NEVER occur together. We know the potential points with two good shots but the game NEVER let’s them both happen in the same attempt! Doesn’t the law of averages tell us that at least ONE of us should have been able to pull off both at least once? This tells me the level has been programmed so this will never occur but because we have all seen and made both good shots individually, we will fight longer trying to get them together.

Usually avoid the ancient practice of whining but might as well make it official: The CRYSTALS HATE ME. This challenge was a healthy reminder of why I never finished CC in the 1st place. It´s like walking in the air, I´m doing all the right moves but going nowhere.

It took 499 attempts at the very least to get from 102710 to 102810. Then I read here that 68.5k is a low score for 1st shot when I can hardly get once 67.5k all day except for single birders which never produce highscore. Finally got it. 103970 with one bird. Send red to left of center of asteroid to nudge it slightly down, pop pig in floating contraption, and deflect into gravity field of top planet. The aim is for the contraption to fall intact into bottom planet, and when it explodes, a piece of debris hits the detonator. Not an easy shot, as often the stone slab and 3 boulders under the piggie get left behind when the contraption drops. It must fall intact. Even then, debris doesn’t always hit the detonator, so there is a lot of “rinse and repeat” needed. Here is a screen shot showing intact contraption after pig has been popped, and just before it drops:

105810 with two birds.

I did it a little differently. The first bird is on the top left big boulder, as if you are trying to go for a one birder.

Then wait a little so that the contraption with the TNT is starting to fall into the gravity field and send Bomb like the first bird in the second video. He should pass below the contraption so timing is important here.
He will trigger the TNT inside the bottom left planet and his detonation will also break the middle right bubble.

The idea here is that the left planet is not here anymore when the TNT on the contraption arrives and then detonates, sending debris all over the places, hopefully making enough damage to various pieces floating around. Once the TNT was even sent to the middle right side for maximum effect.

Here is the final result.

And this is the highscore screenshot.

@asher excellent strat! I had several scores in the low 104k’s before hitting 105k with it. I found that on the first shot I got the best results when the boulder passed just over the rocket so that the rocket fell almost straight down intact. You are right, timing is everything on the second shot. Bomb bird needs to pass just below the falling rocket and through a shard from the top explosion before setting off the detonator on the right. I was getting better scores when the rocket’s tnt exploded while being surrounded by shards and debris, although for my 105k I think it ended up flying off the top right of the screen. Guess I got lucky with a lot of other destruction. Anyway, thanks for posting this strat and congrats on that great score. @sweetp
