Cold Cuts bonus level S-5 is unlocked by 3-starring levels 2-11 through 2-20 of Cold Cuts. Our strategy for this level is to fling the first space egg at a low trajectory above the first planetoid so it detonates right by the foot of the structure. This explosion should cause debris to fly around the planetoid hitting the TNT, taking out the all the pigs inhabiting it. Now fire the second space egg below the first planetoid so it does a half figure eight and comes back up and hits the left side of the top structure on the far planetoid. With a little luck some debris will hit the TNT and finish off the level.
Rat was quite enthusiastic with strats that combined ultimate efficiency together with being beautiful to watch. This is, according to him, what he achieved on this level, about which he said ”I don’t think anyone will ever get a puppy on this level on future challenges.” And later, he added ”But it is a thing of beauty when it finally works”. So, look for beauty and you may win the Challenge, but he warned you, it won’t be easy!
I reversed the shots from the video, similar score.
Same as Burbman, reversed the shots 91930
One birder. Not entirely sure how as I was just flinging trying to find three star score. Think I went just over first pig (on top) and set off black hole egg which pulled pig and debris forward, circling into TNT which flew across to other ice planet knocking tower into first TNT and two ‘shuttles’? into next TNT.
Will try to replicate to confirm.
I got a 1 birder also with a lower score but same method. 1st bird low over the 1st shuttle, exploding it just after going over the pig. Pushes the building backwards into the tnt and debris flies into the other planet taking out everything else. 97540
@dasa Thanks! Got a 1 birder for 99250 — The first shot sure is tricky though. You need to time first egg’s trajectory and black hole just right. Needs to be enough past 1st pig that shuttle almost exits first atmosphere while making a full loop before slamming into ice structure with enough force to set of TNT, which seems nearly indestructible. If you get it wrong, shuttle either doesn’t make it over ice hill into ice structure, or ends up slamming into second planet, where it does a lot of damage, but you don’t get 1 birder and high score.
@all — Did anyone get >100K with more than one bird?
This level is giving me fits, but I don’t have a lot of time to devote to it right now. Preparing for a new arrival next Saturday…a puppy! So my ABN time will likely be limited to lunch hours. That’s a bummer, but the dog’s going to be a cool addition to our pack of 3 we already have. We’ve named him “RADAR.” :-)
@spurs01 Hey, congrats on the new addition to your tail-waggin’ members of the family! “Radar” is a great name! I came in late, only just now getting started so won’t get much play time IN myself. You won’t be alone in the “Please don’t judge me by this score!” Hall of fame! :'( good luck to you!
Like some above, I also reversed the shots. First bird yielded up to 57k, second bird finished the job with the glass structure of the first planet majorly intact.
That’s about how mine worked out. I also reversed the shots. I scored higher this way all though the first planet is harder then the second planet so I was trying to do that one first because it’s easier to mess up and then you can reset if it doesn’t work out right. However I seemed to score higher when I reversed the shots.
I sent first bird south and tapped egg just before it hits the top right triangle which cleared that planet. For the second egg I aimed at the blue traingle and tapped egg BEFORE reaching it as this seems to better insure the “shuttle” stays in the atmosphere ;-)
@lesleyg thanks for the tip on when to tap!!! My shuttle’s kept piggybacking, so thanks! ;)
@kartflyer so far my highest count after the first shot has been 55k, so I’ll keep working it. Thanks guys!! ;D
@sunshine – You are welcome ;-) I’m glad it helped you…darn those piggybacking space shuttles, lol ;-D
Thanks @lesleyg :) I couldn’t for the life of me get that top plAnet right..my carts either flew off or landed on top of each other! Your aiming and trigger points really are the way to do it!
I was flinging around on this level scratching my head. 4k off 3-stars! I can’t be denied 3-stars! So I read the walkthrough, read the comments and then achieved an above average score.
I love this place, and I thank everyone who’s posted. A 1-birder would be nice… ;)
What’s that feather for on each level ?…… and how do u get the feather mark on 30/30 ?
A feather is earned for Total Destruction of a level using the Mighty Eagle. We have walkthroughs available for every Space feather.
85,640 = 2*
86,400 = 3*
So 86,000 is the minimum 3 star score!
Happy to Help!!!

Has anyone noticed any self destruction on this level. There is one report of the bottom right tower falling, but details sketchy. If you see or have seen anything, please report in forum on self-destroying levels.
After many attempts, did the reverse shot,2 birds 94440 score. Think it was luck;)
Uhm, I absolutely despise white egg bonus levels, so today’s daily challenge is gonna be just that… A challenge…
I have a slightly different strategy for a decent 2-egger score. I got 97410 in the following way. This is quite action packed and fun to see.
Egg 1: Aim slightly above the shuttle above the planetoid in first gravity field. Don’t touch the pig. Activate black hole just after egg has passed the shuttle. Shuttle does a cartwheel flying through the shared gravity field and flies neatly into bottom ice tower in second gravity field.
The tower collapsed into tnt. This sets the bottom shuttle east of the planetoid into its own cartwheel, flying into its neighbouring shuttle. They travel to the tnt. Somehow the bottom pig in first field popped at this moment too. Got 72k.
Egg 2: Aim just below the bottom tnt in gravity field 1. Activate black hole just between the rocks and the ice section east of planetoid.
Good destruction overall.
One egger. Shoot at airplane on left planet. About one blocks height above the wooden block at the front of the plane. Towards the front of the wooden block, activate egg. This will pull the plane up and slightly forward falling back onto the stack of ice blocks on the first planet. TNT will explode sending stone balls into the tower on the bottom of the right planet causing a domino effect. If you hold your tongue just right, everything else will be destroyed. Good luck flingers.
I wanted to write the strategy after the birthday celebration of my wife.
The same strategy I had this morning.
it was the first attempt and is very difficult
Egg just above the plane of the left planet.
Ignite in the amount of wood.
Plane flying in the glass batch, pig falls from the TNT.
Glass flies to the second planet.
With luck, the rest will be destroyed
Ei knapp über Flugzeug vom linken Planeten.
In Höhe vom Holz zünden.
Flugzeug fliegt in den Glasstapel, Schwein fällt von der TNT.
Glas fliegt zum zweiten Planeten.
Mit viel Glück wird der Rest zerstört
Hmmmmmm…….you would think as talented as toads are with their tongues that holding it just right would be easy. But forsooth, not so. Who knew rat tongues were capable of that much expertise? Great strat @rat9
I got my score using the exact same strat as @rat9 and @comex666 reported. The key is the distance aver the sled. Too close and you spin it out of the atmosphere and to far not enough umph. The best results for me are turning the iPad sideways to the egg is flying straight up away from you. There is a light color band before the sled. You want the tracking line to have just one or two dots crossing the side closest to the sling. I activate when the egg is just at the pig in the imaginary bottom of the “v” created by the pig and the wood part of the sled. The rest has been just pure damage luck.
@Stocktoad, It wasn’t the tongue that did you in. It was your choice of avatars. I changed mine to a Broncos theme and won a puppy with five minutes to spare in the challenge. Gooooo Broncos!!
Well @rat9 …….Can’t say that going to a Broncos avatar would be remotly worth a puppy. Would probably rather put up a 49ers gold digger.
In truth @Stocktoad, I’m not a huge Broncos fan. But I have to go with the Mannings. Been a huge fan of them since I was a kid in Mississippi and Archie was in college at Ole Miss. And Eli ain’t half bad either.
@rat9 OMG.I remember back in the day (I was young once too) when we had Sonny, Billy Kilmer, then Joe Theisman. In the days of Fran Tarkenton, Roger Staubach, and even Terry Bradshaw, the Saints had a QB named Archie Manning. I just pulled out a couple of his old football cards. And until just now, I didn’t put the 2+2 together and realize that he was Eli and Peyton’s dad! (I did know they were brothers) Thanks for the throwback moment!
Ohh Nooo @stocktoad First I heard about you being a Manning Fan 😕 Hmmm.. Seeing your a nice guy,, I’ll have to let it pass 😉
Ohh Noooooooo @kathy You had better read more carefully. It is rat9 who is the Manning fan. Not me EVER!!!!
I give up on this challenge! i can’t control that darn Egg!! ,oh well i did improve by 290 points 😂
Ooohh @stocktoad I’m so sorry!! Yes i need to read more carefully,, whew Good to hear lol!!
@rat9 Naturally, I can’t hit this shot at all, but that’s ok. Whatever I’m doing wrong flings the shuttle to the other planet in a lovely double backflip, where it then punts shuttle #2, where it then… let’s say mounts shuttle #3 and vibrates while driving around the planet. That’s hilarious enough that don’t mind the repeated level failures. :)
Anyway, dunno why, but anything less than 2 blocks height above the first block or triangle ‘nose cone’ flings it a looong way away.
We have the number 1 ranked AB Space player leading the Daily Challenge Scoreboard with 107k. Awesome score @Rat ! @PJK ‘s top score is in jeopardy! ;-)
Also: Fab score @comex666 !!! :-)
Any of you 2 care to share? I find 1-egg shot very difficult to get. Have come close, one silly piggy in square box remained *sigh* . I attempt going for 1-egger by using shot 1 in my description above….
Why thank you @Jaydee. I haven’t played the challenge for months but saw it was in Space and couldn’t resist flinging a few. I hope my strategy helps you.
Oh!!! That was telepathy there, @Rat9 !!! I bow, my liege!
Aaaah, thanks a lot, @Rat9 ! My problem was that I was activating the black hole just a FRACTION too late! Your tip immediately increased my score from 97k to 103,930. MUCH APPRECIATED!
It warms my cold heart to see flingers do well using my pitiful strategies. Good score @Jaydee. Now that the cats out of the bag, I expect many more 100k+ scores. Maybe a puppy or two as well.
Oh, goodness. I am doing abysmally. I still can’t get anything better than a raspberry sound and a tiny, black hole resembling an inverted, unremarkable gaseous poof every time I activate the egg. I am chuckling at every “pffffttt”! LOL. Cheap entertainment or what?! :-D
LOL @mecstaveler ! :-)
I am having different issues. When @rat9 so kindly supplied the tip, I went for it, got the 103,930, thought to myself, “Hmm, still enough debris, can improve”. I came back here, thanked @rat9 for kindness, went back and tried….and tried….and tried…and tried….and tried….and tried, but couldn’t manage the single egger again, never mind improving. Eventually I managed it again….AND GOT ONLY 92k!!!!! My phone nearly hit the wall!! Hahahaha! TALK ABOUT (sort of) BEGINNER’S LUCK when I got that shot right there and then!!!! That shot is very very difficult indeed. Of course it might be a reflection on my (lack of) flinging talent as well!
Tell me about it. Been flinging for about 2 hours and 3 times I nearly got a one-egger only for the pigging … er … pig into the glass square to survive. Grrrrrrrrrr!
Oh, yeah, that one has given me headaches too, @andy2510 . I have now again tried….and tried….and tried…etc….to no avail. Taking the foot off the flinging accelerator didn’t do much to add joy this side yet, @rat9 , but I have now tried enough. Tired now. Thanks for the info today. Was nice doing business with you!
One last tip for the hilarious poofing @chimichangaCHICK. Don’t shoot at full power. Reduce it slightly. You want the plane to rotate once and land nose first into the pile of ice cubes. This pushes all the ice towards the TNT which blows it to the far planet. The extra debris gives you a better chance of pushing over the tower on the right planet. I’ve gotten numerous 101-106k scores this way. No luck on getting to 108k yet. It’s still to cold outside to fling much. My fingers ice up after about three minutes. Brrrrr….
Sorry. Should have addressed that tip to @mecstaveler. Not the Chimichanga Chick.
Have been using same strat as @rat9 and @jaydee and others but haven’t managed to get same stellar scores or a 1-birder. Will try tongue holding tip!
Yep! That strategy is good enough for a puppy.
I had five minutes to spare on the challenge. No pressure. LOL You were right @SwellD. The distance from the airplane was important! I don’t think anyone will ever get a puppy on this level on future challenges. 110k is about all you can get.
@sunshine. It’s been so long I forgot I needed a picture for puppy proof. I hope this works. I’ve had problems in the past posting pictures.
my puppy
@rat9 ‘s beautiful strat is one of the most difficult shot I have ever had to perform in any of the Angry Birds series, but what a relief when it works and you see everything fits as you hope! 107660 for me, and I am unsure I will come back to this level soon.
WTG @sglouk. You’re right about this being a tough level. It’s hard to find that sweet spot, and even if you do, there’s nothing to use as a guide to repeat it. But it is a thing of beauty when it finally works. Speaking of a beautiful strategy, look at 8-28. Just as you were posting this I got @jlz-666‘s strategy to work and the total destruction was a thing of beauty.
@rat9
Yes, I remember @jlz-666 comment on this walkthrough. But at the moment I am quite successful with Cold Cuts, so I will stay on this episode for now. After my +10k improvement on S-5, I begin to hope being able to reach the magical 3M bar here. Then, maybe, I’ll move to Beak Impact where I have not been very efficient till now.
@sglouk @comex666 maybe you guys can help me? I get how to aim and fling the first bird,, I’m just not sure what is supposed to happen? is the plane supposed to flip and fly over the the right gravity field, or remain in the left Gravity field , hit the glad stucture and send debris over to the right Gravity field and hopefully explode the tnt? any tips would help!!I don’t expect a puppy , i just want to improve and make rat proud 🐣
I’m not sure what this “puppy” thing is all about but I’m having a hard time figuring out what’s supposed to happen as well.
@kathy
in memory of a great man @rat9
see you later TOM
here is a video with 106120:

Thanks @comex666 That makes it more clear!
A Great man was @Rat9 yes!
@Jtb seee here
https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/challenge/
@Karen68 may be able to explain if that doesn’t help
Good Luck
@kathy Oooohhhh… Underdog, puppy, gotcha I just never put 2+2 together. lol
lol @jtb 😋 sorry for the confusion!
I read all of the comments and adjusted my tongue and reduced my power. Everything fell into place just like rat foretold. The final glass enclosed pig in the shuttle first fell down then the ice broke and he skidded to a “dead” stop. Thanks for the help @rat9.
@sweetp
Not quite the top 50 but I did improve! :)

@sweetp
Oh, nearly forgot, I used the one-bird strategy provided by @rat9 to improve my score for the challenge.
