It seems like forever since the last Angry Birds Seasons update. The last update was Cherry Blossoms, which landed back in early March. Fortunately, the wait shall soon be over! What’s next? Well, based on Game Center it looks like the new Angry Birds Seasons update will be called, Piglantis!
Just like the lost city, little is known about this update. We don’t know when this update will land. We don’t know how many levels it will contain. We can speculate that the theme is going to be something similar to Surf & Turf, since i doubt it will actually take place under water (not to say it wouldn’t be cool, but it seems like a drastic change.) But we do know one thing: It’s gonna be awesome!!! So keep your eyes peeled both on your AppStore and here at AngryBirdsNest. We will likely be the first to report when the episode is released.

If it’s 30 levels it will likely be one level per day for 30 days. One can hope! That would be perfect for our new Angry Birds Challenge. Time will tell! Thanks.

I agree with you, BL. I happen to be one of those people who really likes the “one a day” approach. It resulted in a bunch of really great discussions last summer (and a few tense ones that we will try to forget). It also gives people the chance to earn really high scores on levels.
I think they’re a lot of fun. When there’s a “bulk release” (as in the normal style release of 10/15/… levels), most levels only get somewhere around 8 comments. These daily releases yield usually 50+, which helps everyone.
I have a couple of questions:
1. When you say “one level per day” was that just for Phone devices or all devices? I play on PC and have only been playing since January ’12 so this is new to me.
2. Is Piglantis going to be released on all devices at once? If it isn’t then AB Challenge will only be open to some of us if you choose to use the new levels.
1: All devices will have this, but it requires an active Internet connection the first time you play any given level. That is, the first time you try to open Level 5, you MUST have an Internet connection (to download the level’s data file and to verify the time on Rovio’s server). Once you’ve played it once, Level 5 can be played whenever you want regardless of Internet connection.
2: We will keep this in mind. It’s part of the reason why we haven’t used Utopia in the Challenge yet. However, even if it comes a day or two later to some device, they will eventually sync up. (That is, the level for June 10th will be the same for all devices SO LONG AS they have it.)
Again, all this is under the assumption that it’s one level per day, which has not been confirmed.
I really like the one a day levels, also. It helps me to stay focused and not play all the levels in one or two days. It makes the fun last longer, especially for those of us who don’t have discipline to space out the new levels. Self control is hard when it comes to Angry Birds :).

I, too, am very excited!I had a great time playing Summer Pignic last year, and had great times here on ABN during that month.
I wonder, and clearly no one yet knows, if we will get all levels t once, or one a day like last year. I know the ups and downs of both approaches could.be debated for hours.

I’m hoping with a little bit more edge. A little less beach and a little more pirate or old nautical.
I would suspect something with a more Hellenic (sp?) character. At least that’s how it seems that Atlantis is usually portrayed.

Perhaps the update will have levels with birds that you can skip upon the surface of the water like flat stones in a pond.

Yes.But it can not go forever it will end some day but not this year,maybe 2015.Anyway this is going to be a cool update.Maybe Rovio will add Seasons 2013 on Halloween, but that is mounts away.
I for one am wondering how long they can keep going with Rio. The movie is long over and I just don’t see how they’ll continue to create interest. I’m sure they’ll find a way though since it’s a popular game.
The story of Rio is over. No more levels are needed.
But I wonder why they were not able to add the last 6 (in words: six!) levels to AB Rio Free.
Rovio said they would use things like Deleted Scenes to continue ABR.
I like the concept of underwater levels. Perhaps they will include a new bird type, a penguin?

With the recent venture into Space, more specifically the zero-gravity levels, the idea of underwater levels is totally plausible. Also, we could see the utilization of underwater currents. Either to aid, or hinder our individual level progress. This is all very exciting.

Just referring to a guy here (can’t remember who) who told @amslimfordy that Utopia would be out on Thursday of last week because Rovio releases each new update on Thursdays.
Slim questioned him, and then, the very next day (a Thurs) it did come out. So, just a little nudge at Slim ;-)
My head will explode if it comes out tomorrow. I’m on Android and we just got Utopia, Space Eagle, and Danger Zone all in one day. 0.o
If it’s 30 levels, my guess is that it will be Lent style/one level a day like they did for last summer, Summer Pignic.

Well, even if this episode contains VERY few levels (e.g 10 levels), at least there’s a new update for seasons.
+1, Whilst I preferred the much larger releases, any release is better than no release imo.
If this new game/level is set underwater then I’m guessing the fling power will be slower/different in some way. Like it is in Space re gravity affecting it. One thing I do hope is that it plays better than the swimming Mario in some of the Wii games. I love the Wii and Nintendo games but every time they used an underwater swimming character I hated the lack of control.
Am I correct in guessing that Rovio has a whole lot of teams working on all these different levels that are coming out all over the place. Surely it’s not the same people doing all of these?
I wish they make the update first for Mac and PC, because they take a lot of time for this platforms (excepting Angry Birds Space, because they make the 1.0.0 version for all the platforms at the first time).
